Tuesday, March 2

Good morning everybody. Guess I'm the first one here today.

I'm listening to a local radio talk show and the big topic of the day is skunks. Apparently it's mating season and those darn things spray each other. FYI if you, your pet or vehicle get "skunked", mix a quart of peroxide, teaspoon of baking soda and spray away. Everyone claims it works much better than tomato juice. Unfortunately clothing needs to be destroyed.

Where the heck are our missing maintainers? Julie, Jackie, Susan, Pam, come on girls please check in. Hopefully Loretta is on her way home and will check in soon.

Shawnee's best friend, can you give us an update on her computer problems?

Barb, oops. I spelled that antibiotic wrong. It's Zythromax.
It's great to hear you are healing well but bummer that you will go back to work soon.

It's a work day for me so I'll catch you later.

Linda

Morning everyone,

Yes, where is everyone? Loretta should be 'home' soon, and hopefully Shawnee's 'puter gets fixed quick, but where did we lose everyone else?

Not much going on here.

Linda, hope that antibiotic works well for you. There are so many out there now, and so many high powered ones. Maybe this will do the trick. I still have a hack from my cold, but I'm sure it's brought on by having the house all closed up as well. I'll sure be glad when the windows get opened consistantly and I can get all the stale air out! May have to research air purifiers for next heating season and see if that helps.

Zip, 350 sf? YIKES that's tiny! That's about a 19 x 19 room! Not much bigger than my living room Not much room for anything, once you count in necessary furniture. I may not need much space (outside of the greenhouse) but that would have me climbing the walls.

Barb, glad you've been good and the dr. agrees! When do you get back to full activities?

Well, y'all, off to lurk and ingest more caffeine.....

How's the antibiotic working Linda? I've had friends on that one and seen results quickly.

You are right - tom. juice does NOT work for skunks. We had big problems with skunks two years ago and got a mixture from the pharmacy and our vet also has one that is good for dogs. One year we had one fall into a garbage can in the garage, my DH put the lid on quickly, threw the garbage can in the back of the truck, took it way up the road to let it out and found out the skunk had died from heart attack (they believe). So......... you could also scare them to death!!

Well Ginny, the doctor said -- no heavy lifting for a couple more weeks, meaning just about everything. Other than that, haven't had any complications.

Everyone must be just busy!!

Hi everybody,
Back from ShopRite WITH COMPANY...YAAY! Nice shake for lunch (different!) and a HARD upper body workout this afternoon.
Dreary looking day but it's 63° so that makes it SUBLIME!

Linda,
Good luck with the zythromax. It's a macrolide antibiotic and ABSOLUTELY counterindicated for me with my Lipitor. Last try with erythromycin CRIPPLED me! It's a tough drug to take but usually cures what ails yah...lots of people take it for those lingering <cough, coughs> (mine getting marginally better!)..

AUUUGH, I just priced zithromax at $19 a pill! I hope your insurance is picking that up!!!!!!

Ginny,
Yeah, the 350 sq.ft. is WAY too small for me (so is my place at twice that)...and the 350 includes the bathroom, kitchen and closets .

Barb,
I think a big aquamarine for the navel is the way to go...check QVC Network!

To all a good day.

Hi everyone,
Linda, I do hope the zythromax is working. Wonderful drug but I can't take it. I got hives and itchy hands and feet from it. I'm so allergic to so many good antibiotics, makes me mad. 5 days and you're done with it, thats whats nice about it.

Not much going on here. Bowled good today. Sun is out but only 52. Ok, sun makes it feel a lot warmer. I'm in heaven. Rain coming back tomorrow though. Chuck just bathed Bo and now I have to blow/brush him dry or he'll look like one of those other curly dogs we won't mention. LOL

Hope all are doing good.

Tis me again.

Ginny, it's going to be so nice to have the windows open for a change but I fear that it won't be until at least April here.

Hope your cough gets better soon. Thought my lingering cough was just from that last round of bronchitis but it wasn't. Go see a doctor if you aren't better in a day or so.

Barb, OMG I can't imagine having one "fall" into the garbage can. Did your DH get skunked?

When we lived in the city, I had one living under the front porch and would run into it occasionally when I left for work.
Oh that recipe for the skunk smell remover is 1 quart of peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and a cap full of Dawn.. It's supposed to work on animals as well as people and what ever else gets sprayed.

Roger, according to the weather channel, it got up to 67 in NYC. Gosh we can only dream here. It was in the mid 50's.
Did you get any good bargains at Shop Rite? What kind of shake did you get?

Fortunately we have prescription coverage with a 20% co payment so it's not too bad.

Julie, now you have my curiosity up. What kind of "curly" dog are you talking about? Does Bo like the blow dryer? Our cat used to hate it.

Yeah antibiotic allergies are a huge pain in the butt. Augmenton and Cefzil do that to me. Fortunately I'm fine on this one so far. Today was my last day and no problems yet. Thank heavens for those Epi Pens though.

Annie, it's about time you showed up. Glad you had a good time with the girls now get some rest and get back here with us.

Shawnee, if you are lurking or if one of your friends is, HURRY BACK we miss you.

Loretta, hope you are enjoying the trip, and we miss you too.

Jackie, Susan and Pam, show your faces OK?

Linda, I was talking about poodles. Many people think Bichons are poodles. Not even in the same family. If Bo isn't blow dried he is real curly and hard to comb and keep the mats out. I can't do as good a job as the groomer but I use the low heat on my hair driyer. No Bo doesn't mind it, guess he's use to it by now. He's real good about the brushing every night too. I started the day we got him at 4 months.

So are you feeling better yet?

Hi Cali....

Oh I see Julie. LOL I hadn't thought about poodles.

I think I'm finally getting better. Thanks for asking.

We just got back from the ER. Gerard started having a swelling of his upper lip and cheek and it was spreading fast. He hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary so it's really strange. A similar thing happened to me just about a month ago with my tongue.
What on earth can cause this stuff?

Did you all see Jackie's post? It seems that her dad passed away this morning.

Jackie, know that you are in our thoughts.

Geez Linda, what is going on? IS he ok now? Do you eat a lot of fish maybe? That is scarey for sure. Epi pen in hand? Has the swelling gone down now?

Thanks, no I hadn't seen Jacki's post. So sorry and it went so fast.
