Saturday, Norse Washday

Good morning everybody:
"Saturday = Washing day. The word itself is not Norse but the meaning is. The
original version is Laugerdag or (as it is today) Lørdag, which means washing
day (Lauger = Lavar, and Satur- as in "saturation")."

Gee even the Norse had a Norge!

OK Julie,
Here goes; it's quite simple:
Take 25,000 units of Vitamin A every day for 90 days. The FULL 90 days is important because it's a tenacious virus that causes the gruesome warts. It took 85 days for mine to be cured (88 days for an ungrateful friend.)
DON'T TELL YOUR DOCTOR...he will say you're OD'ing on the Vitamin A (and you are -a bit!)
I believe it's an old Adele Davis cure....and it works like a miracle. I had mine for 12 years using salicylic and nitric acids to burn them out, knives to dig out the clusters (of sometimes DOZENS- like an ugly caulifower).
After "THE CURE", they never recurred....it's been 30 years.
A buddy in the next office to mine had his cut out (painfully...off work a week) and was certain HIS way was the only way, TIL HIS RECURRED.

Linda, Loretta, hope you get the MACHINES fixed up aok....I hear the NORGE computers are the way to go.

No plans today....yesterdays theater plans scotched because the show (with Swoozy Kurtz) was a sellout even in previews....thus no CHEAP seats- the only way we go!) We'll try during the week; maybe better luck. But we went to Bertucci's and we both had Scallops a'Capella...a delicious half pound!!!!amost Atkinsy except for the fresh baked Italian bread! (Yeah Linda, it really IS their best dish.)

Have a nice day everybody...we'll be sunny in the 50's. Perhaps today a nice walk in downtown NYC...maybe just Hoboken?

Ginny, LOL it doesn't really take much to confuse me these days especially with this darn computer doing what ever it's doing. Oh well, at least it still works for the most part.

Shawnee's best friend...tell her we really will miss her and wish her the best of luck getting her machine fixed.

(((hugs))) Barb, my heart goes out to you and your DH. It's so very difficult to lose a dear family member. Been there, done that and just can't go through that again. We are petless for the duration.

Loretta, Are your muscles screaming at you today? Hope you had a good nights rest.

Roger, My gosh!! Norge ( I think) was the first real refrigerator my parents got after they got rid of the old ice box. AND my grandparents old Norge wringer washer was such fun for a little kid to use. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Yeah, that 1/2 lb of Bertucci's scallops was wonderful!

Computer went through a System restore last night to no avail. I'm still getting "invalid Back Web application Id 7288971" and "xmlparse.dll was not found" thingy as well as a bump back to the desk top when I try to access several of my music sites. compressed zip folder is still missing. I wonder how much that will cost to fix.

Julie, give Roger's tip a try to rid yourself of warts.Hope it works for you.

Waving to everyone.

Later.

Hey Ginny isn't this morning time great. Will your friend be using her GH for orkids too? Just curious.

Zip thanks for that "Norge" reminder. I don't remember having any Norge appliances but do remember that name. On that washing day I thought that meant for taking a bath on Sat. I remember that too. We did not have a hot water heater but something called a "dome heater" and it was wood fired once a week for our "saturday washing."

Linda have you tried to do a google search for those problems? I have done that on occasion and they can sometimes direct you to a help or several areas of help. Somethings have worked nicely for me. I just hate having computer problems. They are so time consuming and I don't want to give up until I get it fixed.
Surprisingly no soreness from the move. Guess I did less work than I thought. I slept well too.

Will be missing for a few days, taking DS back to Il. Will also visit reletives and SHOP for some ethnic foods (polish sausage, stuffed cabbage rolls, sauerkraut) etc.

Check l8ter. Hi to all of the magnificiant maintaining band memebers.

Loretta

Morning all,

First off, Barb, (((((hugs))))) to you and DH. Nothing is going to help get over it but time. Friends like us can be here for you though and know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Life s*ucks sometime but they said it would never be easy. Bless you sweetie. I just don't know how I will go on if I lose my Bo. He is my just like my child, spoiled (as the kids say) but loved unconditionally.

Roger, I guess I'll give it a try. Can't hurt for 90 days can it? My DH had them when we got married on his hands but his first trip for the Dept. of Defense was to the Phillipines and when he returned, they were all gone. I laughed and asked him if he had seen a witch Dr. Must have been the change in weather.

When we got married, the apt. we had, had a wringer washer in it but I took mine to a laundro mat. LOL not for me!!

Linda, go to Worldstart and ask away on the bb. They are soooo helpful and have sure helped me. Good computer site.
Hope you are feeling better. What did the Dr. say?

Loretta, Hve an enjoyful trip and bring back lots of goodies.

Linda,

XMLPARSE.com is a file used by Yahoo Messenger. Try deleting the messenger and see if all is well. You can try reloading it at a later date.

It's ALSO used by AIM (AOL Instant messenger...it's NOT guaranteed by Microsoft.
Quote:
Xmlparse.dll cannot be found.
CAUSE
This error can occur when you have America Online Instant Messenger (AIM) in the Startup group.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, disable AIM or remove AIM from the Startup group. To disable AIM, use the following procedure.

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
In the System Configuration Utility box, click the Startup tab.
Clear all check boxes that are associated with AIM, click Apply, and then click OK.
Restart your computer.
To remove AIM from the Startup group, contact America Online.
So it's provided as a service to allow you to use other utilities than Microsoft Messenger (but not TOO well)

Barb,
So sorry about your dear friend...I know how much it hurts!

Nice boneless pork roast for dinner with glazed carrots and SOMETHING! Nice 4 mile walk: Hoboken has become such a pretty upscale town! ....followed by another pass-out...

I guess it gym OR walk rather than gym AND walk!
