THOR'S DAY (Thursday)
Good morning,
We are having a spate of very nice, cool weather. Brilliant sun and well over freezing. Bob has been off all week, so we'll probably go museum hopping today. It's going to be tough since I plan on the gym first. We're trying to think of something nice to do do celebrate our 30th belatedly over the weekend. Some nice restaurant on Saturday or Sunday (seeing Vicki's new apartment Sunday afternoon and theater tomorrow with friends who just started Atkins ( they're afraid to go out to dinner...INDUCTION and all.) They are using my well worn 1992 edition. Have a nice day everybody.

Mornin' everyone!
Cold and rainy for us, but at least it's not the alternative...SNEAUX! Had a few huge flakes fall last night before I crawled into the sack, so I was glad to see the dripping! After the morning potty run, pups and big dogs are confined where muddy feet won't track too much ![]() Had to work over last night to clean up our areas in the plant. Big inspection from the head honchos and a customer. I was not happy to be staying over 2 hours for that. Zip, whatever y'all decide to do, I'm sure you'll have fun. Dinner with inductees, huh? Bring back fond memories? Susan, hope you get more time to decompress and enjoy DD being back home! Loretta, did you get any of the promised white stuff? Linda, so when does your contract expire? Do you think you'll renew again? How are the relocation plans coming? Dragonette, hope you get the 'puter back on line soon. Miss your posts! And hope you get off those 12's and have a chance to regroup! Jacki, huge HUGS to you and your family. Take all the time you need with your daddy, and if you need to talk we're here for you. Thoughts and Prayers too, hon. Shawnee, pass that hug to Jacki in person when you see her, please! Did you get some outside time during your sun break? I'm sure you're ready for spring and the next 'great tomato race'! Barb, hear ya on the calving season bad weather! Our friends had one born the day of our 'big' sneaux (for here). They had to shag the calf and cow into the barn, silly things were going to stay outside! I've helped pull a calf before, we used a come-along. Much rather just see everyone up and healthy! Cali, don't escape again! How was your birthday? Everyone, have a contented day. Maybe more later as the day unfolds........

Hi gang.
Roger, Isn't it wonderful to see the sun even though it's still rather cold? Spring just can't be far off. With all the wonderful places to eat in NYC, I'm sure you and Robert will find a fantastic place to eat and celebrate. Where did Vicki find a new apartment, and is it less expensive than the one she was in? Or is it the very expensive one. I'm rather lost on this one right now. Brain isn't totally awake yet. As for your inductee friends, you can help them out with your very extensive knowledge about the plan. Suggest something with protein, salad and legal vegetables. Ginny, Bummer about the OT. I always dreaded that. At least it's time and a half though. and will make a nice difference in the ol pay check.Haven't heard if my contract has been approved for the next fiscal year ( April to April) yet but hopefully will soon. Last year I didn't learn a thing until I completed the paperwork to turn in my keys, badge and other "state" crap. If it is approved, I'll work the summer and NOT go in next winter. Seems that I catch every bug going around up there and I don't want to go through another winter like this. Relocation plans are sitting there. It's just that there is so many considerations and quite a bit of "fear of the unknown." But we continue to gather information. I sure wish I could put this house on a huge flatbed and take it with us since I'm afraid we will never get this quality in another one that would be in our price range. ![]() Jackie, more (((hugs))) be strong girl. Running off to look at yesterday's thread since I wasn't on line much yesterday. Then I'll get myself out of this house for the afternoon. Hi to the rest of the gang. Later |

Good afternoon Zip, Ginny, Linda and the rest to follow.
What's your take on this working stuff Linda? Do you want to work part-time or quit totally? Part-time should be just that and can't you dictate what hours, days, etc.? Why the relocation? Is it weather or cost of living? I hear you Ginny about animals and mud!! It's a really nice time of year but does it have to be so muddy? In WY, all the schools and also houses were built with mud rooms. Good idea, take it off before coming in!! Zip, I envy your opportunity to try so many different restaurants etc. except for the getting there part. I agree with Linda, encourage your friends to stick to a protein, veggie, and salad. Also....... don't forget that water!! Later........

Good evening to all
I am wondering about Vicki too Zip. Has she moved to a bigger place than the 400 sq foot she had before? Enjoy that 30th celebration when ever you get around to it. Gee Ginny were you a farm gal there in MN before you moved to Tn. Just wondering about your assisting with calving? Hope the inspectors come soon to inspect so that the management can get it over with. We were alwayes getting ready for some inspection or another at the hospital. They sure got NERVOUS. Linda are you sure you want to relocate? what about staying where you are and where most of the family is? Once you retire those bad winters won't bother you as much (no need to go out) or you could just go south for the winter only. I sure understand what you are saying about leaving that nice house. Barb will you be home for another week? You won't want to return to work, but then it might be time for spring break. Jackie (((hugs)))) to you and your family at such a difficult time. Glad you are going to spend time with him and not work as much. Shawnee I need to get out there and plant that spincach. Just been busy with one thing or another. It is just about as easy to buy some baby spinach at the WM and take the lazy way out. I wish I had some of your outdoor enthusaisam. HI mommy, glad to see you and wave you on through. Hope you can get some nice rest during the day tomorrow. I went with DIL to doc today for her 6 week check up. We went out to eat at Bob Evans. Nice because I wanted breakfast and she wanted lunch. Baby was most cooperative and let us eat our lunch. DS is loaded up and ready to head this way in the morning. I am praying for his SMOOTH MOVE. I will go and help with whatever I can at this end. Good Evening Magnificient Maintainers!
It has been a gorgeus Sunny Day up here today! So glad I was off work. I managed to get out for a little while. I should have been out for a couple of hours in the woods. Now DD is back, we will probably get back to walking in the woods. Boy, do I need that! CONGRATULATIONS ROGER AND BOB! HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY! Yep, Ya gotta mark this milestone, For Sure! No Wedding Bells???? I see Rosie tied the Knot today! I thought you told me that you would be coming up here for that "piece of paper" to mark this Anniversary! Barb, I managed to eliminate the flax seed bread, for over a week now. I have replaced it with LC bread 6g a slice and I feel much better for it. I am sure ready for some Exercise, need to de-stress that way! Always the same lame excuse....TIME!!! Loretta, Wow, what a wonderful doc visit and lunch you had today with DDIL and that little precious one! DD is 21 weeks now and getting quite big at the front. They had a 3D video done in Tampa while they were down there! It is a specialized type of ultrasound.Linda, My DH and I are right behind ya on that move. We have been stalling cuz of DH's work and pension etc.... I enjoy the part time work, sometimes it gets tough, though, like last year with those PN groups. It is much better this year! Mommy, Wavin back to ya! How many 12s do you do before rotating?I have done all kinds of combinations in my early years! When the kids were little in England, I used to work 3 x12 regular nights. It suited us at the time and I got paid for 36 hours and still had some days off. Hope they enjoy the Scouts tonight! Ginny, Yep, DD and her DH arrived home around 6:30p.m. I had supper ready for them. Her PUP went crazy jumping up at both of them and even took a jump at me to let me know she was so happy to see them! Wow, We have a Master Dr. Vet Ginny, ya brave one delivering that calf! Wavin to the rest of the Gang! SuSUN! ![]() |

Caught your wave on the the way out Mommy ----
I hear you Susan about that bread. Sometimes I think it's just a psych game with oneself!! Loretta, I'll be home another week and everyone has been understanding. We have had a lot of problems at work but they are finding out that there are other people and agencies that can help. We have Spring Break the week of March 22. My DD will also be home from MN at that time. Take care everyone....... later |

Barb, will you find it difficult to go back to work? I was retired three years before I was approached about going back part time. I don't like it at all but LOVE the extra money, and heck, I guess we need to do something while waiting to die.
lol..Gosh Dragon, you are one busy lady. How long do you have to do such long hrs? Hopefully it's not a permanent thing. Susan, We use the 6 carb bread on occasion but it's got soy in it and I really don't like it at all. I did find a brand called Heidelburg sold at our local shop that isn't really low carb but is made with only whole grains, some flax, water and yeast. No trans fat but the thing has 15 gr. carbs and about 6 of fiber. It has a much better taste. I bet you are happy to have DD back safe and sound. Loretta, how long is your DS's drive supposed to take? Hopefully it will be a smooth move. Bet you will be so happy to have him back in your area. NYS is taxing everyone out of here. If we moved three miles over the border into PA. our real estate taxes would be cut in half as would the utilities. It's just that we will have a very difficult time finding something as nice as this...Super insulated, hardwood floors, corian countertops etc. Ginny, I'm impress. You actually used a come a long to help a cow give birth? OK where is Julie? Roger you must think I'm a real ditz with those computer questions I e mailed you about. ![]() |

Chuck off work now so routine all screwed up. Got up late and ran some errands, lunch and shopping with a friend. Groceries after that...
Roger, you and Bob have a grand celebration this weekend!! Barb, you will have a hard time going back to work but spring break won't be far away to look forward to. Shawnee, hows the weather down there. Rain and wind has returned. Spring is just around the corner...spring around here means more rain and wind!! LOL Dragon, my gosh, I don't know how you do it, all those long hours would do me in. The older I get, the harder everthing is. Loretta, sounds like you had a nice day with DIL and baby. Did ya give a big hug from all of us here? Linda, hoping you get your contract then, if thats what you want. quitting in the fall isn't so far away. Are you thinking of relocating soon after that? Ginny, inspections are the worst!! I hate that rain and then mud. With Bo being white and small, I can keep him on the grass in the back yard. Susan, so did you get to see the 3-D pics yet? Are the woods where you walk on your property? Always wondered. Bowling for me tomorrow. Love it and always look forward to it. 2 x a week is fun but next year will probably only so one league a week. Afterwards will stop at WM and get some Claritin for the few hives that returned. Also going to look at the egg cookers. I heard the Westbend ones were good. Only if they are cheap!!! Have a good day tomorrow

Montana.....crime has been weighing heavily on my mind since our little town was featured on the Portland news a few weeks back...as having some of the highest statistics in the state! (mostly damned drug-related!) Then a neighboring town (quiet, rural, small) had 2 shootouts, leaving one bad guy and one Sheriff dead.
So pardon me for throwing another factor into the relocation decision, but it may be something y'all would want to consider. I've been looking over some statistics; haven't found a really current list yet...I saw a few surprises. http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/safest_cities/ http://www.bizsites.com/toolkit/ITNhicrime.html http://www.bizsites.com/toolkit/ITNlowcrime.html Here's a COST OF LIVING comparison chart...Ginny, I'm moving to your area for that! ![]() http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/costo...html?step=form Last edited by shawneesioux : 02-27-2004 at 12:57 AM. |
