Annie,
Glad to see you back!!! <<<<<<<<<<<)))))))))))))))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Shawnee, Pup IS adorable; did you make many CRACK sales while frolicking with him in the park? Show was so-so....loud loud LOUD musical Alice in Wonderland meet Franz Kafka kind of Grand Guignol....like I said, LOUD! Dinner (sushi) with friends fun. Nice, sunny 40°. Perfect for a walk to ShopRite and day at the gym! Bob working today....but off the rest of the week SO FAR...that may not mean much though...lots of last- minute schedule changes. Susan, NJ dodged that last stom by very little...it passed JUST to outr East to clip New England and SLAM your Easters Provinces. We'll be getting very cold AGAIN...Sheesh, Ralphie boy! We got SEX IN THE CITY last show on tape...anybody see it? Toodles to everybody!

Annie I'm glad you are back. I just love this
oh pleeze, ph pleeze. HAPPY 49TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!! I'll tell you that today since you won't be here tomorrow. Have a great time at lunch with the kids. Zip hope Bob can truly be off the rest of the week. Maybe you two can have some enjoyable time together. Can he go to the gym with you as a guest????? Hope you find some bargains at shop rite. Shawnee the grand pup is just so fine and sleek looking. Great pictures too fine quality. Thanks for sharing. Hey that grass sure looks green. Mine is still wearing that dull winter brown. The air is starting to smell like spring though. I did see a few crocus up a day ago. NO daffys yet. Julie those golden gals are getting out of hand. I am not even going to begin to comment on the OT business. I say if you want gardening tips go to a site for that, if you want book reviews go to a site for that. Am I a grouch or what????? I know we don't always talk lc over here but at least we are not off in all different directions. I will look for that Dannon lc yogurt. Linda actually DGS has been back from Iraq since the begining of Feb. We say him then too for a short visit. His half brother was here also. Got some nice photos too of the 3 of them raising their "toast" shots. Glad I had one to give to him. He re enlisted too and where he is going in Ca will be near his home in Las Vagas. He will be doing some hospital work and also lead some field training for those learning dessert warfare. Sounds like he might make a career of it. SuSun I know you will be counting the days before you can get to Fla. Soon I hope. How is the weight doing? Barb glad you are getting on with the healing. I love your posts and quick wit. You seem to come up with some great answers. Are you bored with being at home yet??? Ginny did you get a home for your visitor yet? Is there a humane society there? HI to the rest of our gang. Hello from frigid but sunny upstate NY. I'm really beginning to think this winter is NEVER going to end although our local radio talk show host was on a tirade about the Canadian Geese and all the poop on the walkways of our river walk park. Could that be a sure sign that spring isn't far off?
Annie, Happy Birthday hope you really enjoy it with your daughters and let us know where they took you. Shawnee, pup is so sleek and fit looking. Wow! Give him a hug for me too. LOL your dad was a very wise man. Yes rent the thing. Roger, yup guts and all but boy are the clams good. I could eat several dozen in a heart beat AND they are fairly low carb. Are you still looking at property? I spend hours on the Century 21 web site typing in various cities around the country. Most even give the estimated real estate tax. Check it out. PA. doesn't seem to bad. Hope you and Bob get to spend a few days together this week. Loretta, I'm not going to touch that OT business on the golden either and agree that it is going off in far too many directions. Most of the time I just ignore posts that don't interest me but I understand why some could be upset.... I learned years ago to keep my mouth shut there. LOL had a few posts moved and even deleted myself. Let's hope it settles down and gets back to the main focus of that bb. We will all anxiously await pictures of your DGS. It must be such a relief to have him back in the States. Waving to Julie, Susan, Ginny, Jackie, Barb and lurkers. I'm off to get a few things done and will return later. |

OK,
I have a DIET product to recommend: Smart Beat butter substitute (not Smart Balance but the same company) It's tran fat free and has only 20 calories per Tbsp as opposed to 100 for butter, margerine (even the Smart Balance and Benecol have 80). I't basically water and whipped canola oil ( high in Omega 3's) held together with plant gums. Tastes decent and is a good spread and even comes ina Low Salt variety (which I haven't tried yet.) Only drawback is it doesn't melt, so you can't cook with it. It's quite cheap too....give a peak in your dairy shelf and try it for a buck (for 2 tubs!) We've been using it for several months and it removes the awful guilt from spreading butter on a piece of toast. Better for those counting calories than those ignoring calorie and fat intake. |

It's still morning here.....
Thanks Loretta for mentioning my quick wit and humor -- do you know how much trouble I get into when I REALLY speak my mind?
This surgery stuff is NOT fun. First I take the pain meds and am constipated and bloated. Then I go off and feel uncomfortable but..... can go to the bathroom. I'm not bored being at home, I'm just not used to doing nothing. I walk around the house looking for something to do -- I have my follow up with the good lookin' doc next Monday. Cali, Happy Birthday!! Are you really ONLY 49? I've been that for years!! Am I the only person in existence who has NEVER seen Sex in the City? And now it's too late! The pup looks cute and cuddly and alas, belongs to someone else. We are making the decision this week for WHEN we will have Cody put to sleep. He's our ****er Spaniel of 14 years and has been trying to die for months but...... his mom won't let him go. It's now time and once we make the decision it will be easier. Julie, did you manage to make it last night WITHOUT snacking? I did some damage to the sunflower seeds right after my DH said let's discuss the dog. Good news, I weighed and am 1# from goal -- so now you can't kick me off anyway. Back later,

Hi Y'all
Just back from Curves; had to force myself to go...as I already had some sore muscles from the weekend yardwork marathon... oh, well...what doesn't kill me will make me stronger.![]() LOL, Cali...that Pup is a squirm-worm...never still over 30 seconds, so its hard to get a good hug in on him...but he loves the attention. HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! and enjoy your Girls. ![]() ZIP...now that your hearing is better, do you find your ear drums being insulted by too much noise? I gave up on concerts, even the milder ones...cause I can't actually hear anything but TOO MUCH noise from those cranked up speakers. Well, at least you finished up your night on a positive Dinner note. ![]() Hehee, No Crack deals while frolicking with Pup...cause we were in my backyard, not a park. My fav kind of Crack Dealers are the DEAD ones. Loretta, I'm happy for y'all that the DGSon is back in the States. Around Las Vegas, its very desert-y...depressing to me..but great for Training. Our grass stays green nearly year-round, except hot Augusts tends to brown it up...I have too much of it to pay for expensive City watering. I picked a few Daffy buds and brought them in to open. Got a message from Dragonette...(she LOVES that name, ZIP )Having some problems with her home wireless puter...so will probably not be posting for a bit. Montana...you and ZIP have more guts that I do....to eat something guts and all ![]() We have an annual Smelt run here, and some people smoke them guts and all... Bob and I used to pick Oysters (well, pry them loose off rocks). He ate them as we collected them...one down his gullet, two in the bucket... To All, have a good day. ShawneeEDITED: Hi Barb ![]() Good for you, being on top of that weight! Am sooo sorry y'all are going thru the pain of making that decision for your FurBaby. I had to do it last November, but knew I had to put my Pup's quality of life ahead of my feelings...never easy. Blessings....follow your heart. We've reached the stage in life of wanting a bit of freedom, so no more dogs for us...I just demand visitation rights of my GrandPup. Last edited by shawneesioux : 02-23-2004 at 11:33 AM. |

Sorry that taking that pooch to the kennel was so upsetting for you Ginny. DH is right you have to stop somewhere. ((((HUGS))))
Zip thanks for that info on the Smart Beat. I just might check it our. I like the Smart Balance flavor but not the calories. Barb after I retired I sure had to get used to not having a schedule and looked for stuff to do too. Now seems like I am busy most of the time and tend to procrastinate even when there is stuff to do. Shawnee do you get below freezing temps there? Green grass all year sounds so inviting. Does it go dormant though and quit growing? L8ter g8ters Loretta |

Hi again
Oh Goddess, you had a tough call to make...and your DH is right. Bless your heart, Life isn't always easy, huh? Comforting HUGS to ya, Gal...you are the greatest. Hoping that Pup finds a loving Family. Loretta, Yup...we started early last year with hard freezes in Nov, and still had some below 32° nights last week....our last Frost will be in Apr or May, it varies. Some milder winters, we have mowed year round. The grass seems to grow depending on the amount of sunny days, and doesn't really go dormant, just kinda "idles" It was 8" high in the "outback" ...I just made those KIM'S FLAXMEAL CINNAMON MUFFINS, using your suggestions for add-ins... YUM...Thanks. ![]() Hi to the MIAs... Shawnee |

Hi gang,
Awww Ginny, so sorry about the stray. It hurts even though you know deep down it was the thing to do. Cali, welcome back and good bye!! LOL Sure hope you have a SIZE=3]HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Zip, we don't get HBO so no sex. I hear ya on all that noise and DH about goes crazy with his tinnitis!!!Loretta, well, I always seem to be in the thick of it. I don't know how but have done a lot of meditating about it today and have come to conclusion, I will just be a happy poster and they can do what they want with the OT and other threads. It all comes down to lcarbing. Thats what we all have in common. I want the bb back to what it was a month ago. Linda, gosh are you going to ever get spring? When does it finally start to thaw? Shawnee, your grandpup is beautiful. Barb, you don't "open mouth, insert foot" as often as I do!!!!!! Got to run, pork chops coming off the BBQ!!!

Barb, Surgery is not any fun at all, and the older we get, the more difficult it is to get over it. Sometimes it just sucks to get old.
No you aren't the only one who has never seen "Sex in the City". Congrats on getting back within one lb of goal. See we knew you could do it. Shawnee, couple of questions about the razor clams. They are rather large so are they tough and what do they taste like? Gag on the uncleaned smelts. I always hated those things. My ex and I used to get them and they tasted somewhat sour, and that was after I cleaned the darn things. Ginny, that was a difficult thing to do, but it was necessary. I'm sure they will find a wonderful home for the poor little thing. Roger, is that peanut butter really trans fat free? I thought canola was a processed oil and not cold pressed. Julie, do what I do on occasion and type out a reply and then don't send it. Boy it really helps relieve tension. As for spring, LMAO I don't think we are going to ever get it.Maybe in August and then it will be so darn HOT and HUMID we will wish we had these cold temps. Edited to add, well Chit!! There goes the price of chicken. When will this crap end? http://www.newsday.com/news/nationwo...orld-headlines Off to catch up around here. Last edited by LoveMontana : 02-23-2004 at 08:26 PM. |

HI again...
...yet another NON- Sex in the City viewer... ...hehee, can't miss something I never saw.Montana,,,Hmmmmmmmmmm....yeah, the clams range from 3 - 7"..and can be tough if improperly prepared, or cooked too long. (Of course they can always be ground up) Very mild unique flavor ..more mellow than Prawns. I love them breaded and deep fried... Can't say about the Smelt, I don't eat them smoked, fried, cleaned or not. They stink to me. Bob's Uncle pickled them. Dragonette says "Post away on her message to me"..so: a quick note ![]() I stole a buddies internet here at work and at least got to read up on everyone's activities for the past few days. I can't reply from there though...no clue as to what my password is on the BB! ;p And Erik got a new wireless internet card for his laptop, and now we don't have an internet connection at all.. he works on it for a couple hours and gets pissed at it and quits...and I can't get online! *whimper* Looks like we will be on 12's through next Sunday at least...no days off...sigh...makes life hard, especially since we are still trading off the one vehicle. My girlfriend will pick Alex up from school tomorrow, so I don't have to take Erik into work, again! and miss out on another 2 hours of sleep. Saturday we had go-rounds about paying attention to the kids so they don't get out-of-hand-bozo crazy and run screaming to Mommy while she is still asleep...grrr! Here's a laugh...Erik called out here about 9pm tonight to ask what to put in with the laundry(jeans)...I had washed them once and he had washed them again, and they "still smell like refinery"...HAHAHAHA!!! I told him to add some Simple Green and if that didn't work toss in some GoJo...something would take out the smell...his REAL ***** was that I threw in one of his pairs of jeans along with mine to make up a full load, and now his jeans smelled like kerosene too...Good! it will keep the husband hunters off him...kinda like "I'm taken' pheromones! ![]() ![]() ![]() That;s all from here, hugs! ~Dawn (aka- Dragonette...I LOVE that!) .................................................. ................ Julie, did y'all get another "bonus" day of NO rain? Love it when the predicted rains don't materialize. ![]() Shawnee |

HUH Julie? were is the post?
Do you have the link? I just don't have time to go looking all over the place. Shawnee, So those razor clams have a mild taste, eh? I've been looking for them constantly since MrKokomo posted about them a few years back to no avail. They are just not available in this area. We have something called a Mahogany clam which is larger than the little necks but is tough as hell no matter how it's prepared. I'm with ya on the smelt. YUCK big time. |

Montana, this will give ya an idea of my fav way to deepfry the clams..I use a mixture of LC flours instead of crackermeal.
OH, after seeing the Pic of 'em, I'm hungry for them...maybe I'll soon be thawing some frozen ones. ![]() http://www.piscatorialpursuits.com/foodclams.htm The only way I know of for y'all to have these particular clams is to order them from the Net...I sent ya a $hockingly expen$ive addy ![]() ShawneePS...........HEY...I KNOW there's a lot of this Bunch with cameras... so how about some Pics????? ![]() |
