SUNDAY, MARDI GRAS

I think I'll go to the theater in a GOLDEN THONG in keeping with the holiday....and my WHOOSH overnight. (Down 12this year- to 220#. I was dying for cereal before bedtime but I pulled a Nancy Reagan and "Just Said No." The whoosh was owed to me and yesterday's dinner was Lasagna and a relatively common 2300 calorie day...nothing special "starvationwise." That level is generous and, if I'm content with maybe only a pound a week, fairly effective.

Shawnee,
I didn't see any pictures of your "funny clams" in your link....are they "razor" clams...that term seems to be in my head for some unknown reason.

Is Julie having more computer problems? A friend called me yesterday unable to get his camera to download it's pix in spight of buying a new card reader. After MUCH to-do, he said something about high-speed data transfer. That was My CLUE.... I asked him to read the box: Yep, USB 2.0!!! His puter was 1999ish so I told him he's got USB 1.0....problem solved, BUT the computer won't read directly from his camera either. I said pull the software and re-install. It's HARD to help someone long distance!

Dinner and show tonight with 2 friends....I feel so STRONGLY about this show....just a gut feeling! Anyhoo, price of ZERO is just right! Light gym if I can muster the OOOMPH...maybe a day off!

Phonecia did a full bud blast. Ginny, you were right, it's the gas stove. No alternative though, a neighbor just got January's electric bill for $850. For me, I guess Winter Orchids are out....the tariff is JUST too high!

Get on a float and toss clothing off!!!!! Ash Wednesday is just around the corner!

Rise and Shine Magnificient Maintainers!

Still lots of white stuff covering us! DH has been out agin! It sure looks pretty today with the clear blue sky and Sunshine! Temps are up too!
On the East Coast they have had over 4ft, so we are not too bad. On my walk with DD's pup yesterday the benches in the park were covered up to the back rest, so ours is pretty deep too.

I managed the majority of my reading and prep for the Presentations this week! So feel good about that just a tad more to finish off today. I even managed to do some Molly and Suzy stuff in between. Have you ever rehearsed a speech and moped the kitchen floor at the same time! LOL!

Roger,
Glad you had a result and joy from the low calorie woe! I really have to try something drastic soon. I lost 2lbs and now up again!
Enjoy those Golden Thongs! Could be a bit too cheeky for me!
Sorry, I could not obtain Angels in America for you.
CONGRATS ON THE 12LBS!

Linda,
Not sure what that phone thing is called I'll check with him today!
I phoned their room this morning but they must be at breakfast. I have emailed him on his phone and left a voice mail, so definitely in communication with them! DD likes to check in daily with me just like at home. She is of course checking in re: her Pup now!

Shawnee,
Sending those "trained Beavers" up and across your Way! How many do you think it would take to "chew" the job? LOL! That's like the light bulb jokes! Do you know anyone that has one of those machines that would allow you pool it and pay a nominal fee?

Barb,
Glad you had some relief! All quadrants working well in the ole abdomen? CONGRATS on being within 2#s of your goal.
yes, that flax seed bread toasted is satisfying. I am happy with just one slice, but it has to go!

Ginny,
What did you purchase at the Stores? Was it mostly groceries or some more stuff for the renovations!
What a wonderful Fur Family you have. Shawnee described it well a Frolic for the Critters! I LOVE that!

Wavin to Y'all! Gotta get back to the reading and more chores!

Hey everyone,

Sun is shining again today, heck I could get used to this!

Zip, glad the results are showing you have a pretty high calorie intake it seems, but then you men always can get away with more than us women can!

Susan, when you're done with the Molly stuff, I got lots to do if you get bored! I bet you're enjoying the walks with Sassy, but know you'll be glad to have DD back to walk with.

Shawnee, no romp time for the kids as we have ANOTHER stray hanging around. This little guy is adorable, about 9 months old and needs a home--I'm working on finding him one. Until then, to keep everyone safe, our gang has to stay in the fence It is funny to watch the standoff between him and Nitro tho....2 pups figuring out the rules of ownership!

Not completely awake yet, so off to lurk a bit while the caffeine kicks in.

Hope everyone has a great day!

HI to all

What a surprise we had yesterday evening when DH's grandson showed up at church and sat behind us. He is back from Iraq (101st Airborne Rakisans) and stationed at Ft. Campbell until the end of the month when he goes to CA to another post. He has his "girl" with him and we went out to eat. The stayed for a short visit after that. A very nice surprise for Gramps.

Zip I had some issues with my Kodak picture program so I have uninstalled it and can now circumvent the downloading of pics. I had to install an F drive for my card reader. That in itself was a headache because of the zip file and the unzipping and then I did not know where to find the drive. I almost got the job done without support from DS, but I needed him to help me find the drive. Then it was a piece of cake. It is very hard to help someone else from a distance. My DS that works with computers at Toyota has no patience with his MOM at all. Son #2 helped me. He is the son that will be starting the new job here on the 1st of March.

Ginny hope you find a home for that stray. I know he is cute but you will be sure adding to the family there if he stays. You will be looking for a Pet Health Care policy soon. I sure think that Zips 6 foot height is a plus for him and the calories. I have been able to stay just 2 pounds above goal now for a few weeks and I'll take it.

Susan you are sure multi tasking there with the mopping and rehearsing at the same time. How on earth do you walk in that deep snow? That would sure account for using extra calories.
I am going to keep the flax bread. I usually just eat it once a week. During the week I might have 2 of the flax muffins total.

Shawnee we don't have pickup service for our usual garbage we take it to the dumpsters weekly. For bigger things we have to go to the city dump, no charge though. We are probably paying it for it somewhere else, on the water or electric bill. You sure like being outdoors. I did some weed treating of the soil the other day but I think I was just fertilizing the weeds. IT is suppose to retard weed growth. I had to pick the weeds FIRST.

Linda glad you enjoy the party. Trying to keep up with an active group of 8 yr olds is probably more work than going to work for you. My email is being uncooperative too and will try using yahoo for a while. At least it won't go through the local server that way. My flaxmeal stuff does give me gas I have noticed.
That is about the only problem I have encountered with it.

Going to go and enjoy the day. L8ter

Ok, OK, I'm here. Been trying to cut down on puter. DH is done with this last contract and now have the fun of getting use to each other being underfoot AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I don't think he appreciates me being on this thing so much. Need to have a talk with him. He'll say, it doesn't matter. Maybe I feel guilty while he's washing windows and mowing the grass, (yep, was waaaay too long) etc. We got into it yesterday about me not finishing up stuff when I start them. Damn, I'll do it in my own time. Well, I'll compromise and he will too and in a week or so, things will be normal again.

Gorgeous weather this weekend. 60 degrees as I speak. Yesterday went for a walk out to a bird santuary on a raised boardwalk over marshy terrain, right near the beach. It was 3 mile round trip. Went to lunch afterwards. Later, went to dinner and theater and didn't get home til 11:00. Agatha Christy, Appointment with Death. It was ok, not great. I had a bad night the night before with very little sleep. so almost fell asleep during the play!! ZICAM!!! Damn stuff acts just like Sudafed on me. I was up at 1:00a.m. cleaning house for God's sake. Threw that in the garbage immediately. Was exposed to a gal for 2 days coming down with a horrible cold. She kept telling me, she had allergies. Crap!! Called Friday morning and has bronchitis too. Seem to be ok today so far. I was helping her do some things on her computer for 2 days and she was sitting right besides me the whole time coughing. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Chuck is really suffering with his sciatic. He comes in and rests from all the yard work and then goes out again til he can't stand it. Poor guy. I tried to get him to lay down and put his legs up over the coffee table with ice on his back but he won't listen to anything I say. So he suffers....

I'm still trying to get that 3 or 4 lbs. off. I need to quit the cheese or the snacking at night and can't do it. I'm addicted to the hot pepper cheese and buy it in 5 # loaves. Chuck doesn't eat it, just me. Need to quit buying it I guess. Thats what I said before I bought the last one. I'll learn one of these years. Lent is starting Wed, maybe try and do it for that. So Barb, LOretta and Susan, I hear ya!!! Maybe should start a little challenge here!!!!!!!

GOOD EVENING ALL...

Well, Julie, what can I say? It seems as if we have the same problem: cheese!! I had to go without at times just to get myself in control. You are cutting the grass? We can't see ours yet!!
Yes, Lent is starting Wednesday and this is the first time in "years" that do not have to have the resolution to lose weight -- just maintain. I was down to within 2# before surgery and I'm sure I'm down even more because I'm not eating much. I've had such goofy lenten resolutions in the past, it's a riot!! Last year worked the best -- someone said that they never knew of anyone who lost weight during Lent!! That did it! A challenge!

Linda, I gave you the wrong idea about flaxmeal bread. It doesn't bother me, it's just that I eat too much of it. I believe the incision is healing well, can't see much and not as sore. I'm being VERY careful and letting DH do everything!!

Susan, I hear you -- bread in this house go fast!! I hope you are talking out loud to yourself while practicing that speech and..... answering at the same time!!

Annie, what have you been up to?

Zip -- 12# is very good, of course men lose soooooo much faster and eat more, etc. etc.

Waving hi to Loretta, Ginny, Shawnee, Pam and anyone else I may have forgotten.

I'm off to make my party plans for Mardi Gras

Boy, I'm finally getting here. Been cleaning and then went to visit my son this evening. I'm pooped too since I only slept 4 hrs last night. Oh and it snowed several inches again last night while I was on my way home from the birthday party. Almost had to use the 4WD to get up this hill.

Roger, LOL so your thong is Gold? LOL I have a red, blue and black one. Humm Red should be appropriate and I may have some beads around here that will top off the outfit. .

Yahoo on the whoosh!! 12 lbs is fantastic!!

MrKokomo posted a lot of info on the Razor Clams last year so I looked around for his site. They do look fantastic but my personal favorites are Little Necks, steamed and dipped in butter.

Susan, There isn't anything pretty about this darn snow now. I'm SICK of it.
LOL I'm sure your DD wants to check in with you too and not just the pup.

Ginny, good Lord!! Do people drop the poor things off in your neighborhood? They do that around here on occasion. Hopefully you will find a good home for the poor little thing.

Loretta, What a fantastic surprise you and dh had. Did you have any idea that he would be back so soon? It must be such a relief to have him back in the states.

Those kids wore me out so I guess that's why I didn't sleep too well last night.

Sorry the flax gives you gas. Funny how it bothers some and not others.

Annie, it's about darn time you got back here. Don't stay away so long. So what have you been up to?

Julie, (where is our rolleye smiley when we need it?) MEN!!
I'm sure he doesn't really mind you spending time on the computer. Gerard and I take turns. LOL It works for us.
Oh yeah, and they never listen to us either. Hope Chuck's back is better soon. What is the problem? Has he had an MRI?

What an inconsiderate "friend" for exposing you to her damned cold. Hope you don't get it. I would have walked right out and said "later".

Barb, it's great to hear that you are healing well.
LOL I tend to eat several flax muffins at a sitting too. Heck they are good for us.

Shawnee, Susan has a good idea. Do you know anyone with a chipper? I know they are available for rent around here at places like Taylor Rental and a few others and aren't too expensive.
I shudder every time I see one of the tree crews working on the roads using one. Brings to mind the man who murdered his wife and "chewed" her up along a road someplace in New England a few years back.

Off to catch up around here.
Later.

Hi Y'all

ZIP, somehow I picture you in bright emerald or electric blue; gold just doesn't offer enough contrast.
Yup, the ones we plucked were Razors.

http://www.steelheader.net/otherspecies/clams.htm

http://wdfw.wa.gov/do/feb04/feb1704a.htm

Nice but nippy here today...had to work at a steady clip in the yard to stay warm. Rain is coming soon, so wanted to get the mowing finished, and more pruning done.

Montana, I think renting is the way to go on the Chipper; I never borrow stuff...dear ol' daddy instilled that: "If ya borrow it, have enough money to replace it if ya break it...if ya have enough money to replace it, go buy one for yourself."

Glad ya survived the Soccor Game...did ya get any kicks to the shins? Those young ones can deliver some powerful licks in the heat of the battle

Loretta, what a teriffic surprise for you and DH Had to be better than a dose of Tonic for your DH, no doubt.
I sprayed RoundUp today...Geez, I have healthy weeds.
DGBrat came over to tell me she bought Hosta starts...YIKES, I told her I have more than plenty to share with her. She said she wanted to do it from start to finish on her own with some plants, and I have to respect that!

Goddess, I'm thinking of applying for a Federal Grant in your name, to offset your rescue expenses. Bless your heart, you pick up the pieces that Fools scatter. Heartless people who see dogs as disposable garbage deserve the hottest hole that Hell has to offer. Good luck with placing that Pup. LOL, was visualizing Nitro and that Pup marking territory on each side of the fence...Whoooops!~ Gotcha!

Barb, your sense of humor is working fine, so ya must be healing You DESERVE to drop a few free pounds in exchange for the Sx.

Cali, welcome back Your typing style certainly enlivens this ol' BB

Dragon, pop in and give us a glimpse of life on the prairie.

Tink, hope y'all are feeling better.

SuSun, what kind of feedback did ya get from that mop??? LOL
Maybe you could practice on Sassy and Oliver, they would be a bit more responsive; precious, isn't it...no matter what words ya say to Pups, as long as they are delivered in a positive tone....they are an appreciative audience

Julie, good luck fighting off the cold germs. Your DH does windows??!!! he's worth his weight in quality cheese!

MY LOWCARBIN' GRANDPUP BURK...he loves fruit and veggies, no Puppy fat on this sleek 3-1/2 month old Brat.

I think he's adorable from every angle
