Morning gang,

Chilly and rainy here today. The snow got cancelled, but the rain came through just as scheduled. And it's supposed to get colder these next few days.

Shawnee, WOW!!! on that new truck! That sure is pretty! One of the guys I work with has the loaded 2001 but in a 1500 series. Those heated seats are sooooo nice! I've gotten to drive that truck a couple times (running to the shop to pick up a big truck or something) and I'm about scared to drive something that nice

Jacki, How's your dad doing? Did you get to spring him from the hospital yet? Pneumonia is nothing to play around with, especially when he has lung trouble already. Good thoughts your way {hugs}

Zip, I'm with Linda on the catfish...they're a big thing here in the south, but one thing this old gal won't be eating. There are many kinds of catfish, and just can't bring myself to eat a 'scavenger' type critter. Hope you enjoy yours tho!

Linda, maybe you'll get that food processor yet. Email Gerard with the link to which one you want. That should be subtle enough!

Loretta, did you get any of the sneaux? You're really on the ball with the shopping and wrapping. I think this weekend we'll finish ours up. Not much left to do, but I wanna get it done and mail out what needs that too.

Julie, hope you're feeling better today. The not sleeping well part really drags you down. How does Bo react when you're not feeling well?

Hi to Susan and Pam. Hope all is well with y'all!

Off to lurk for a bit...

Ginny we have the same predictions for weather here. Snow flurries later today and falling temps. We have a busy weekend planned and I want to get that much out of the way so I can have next week for decorating. Going to see DGB next Sunday for her 6th Birthday. They are having adults only, (that's a first). I guess just us and her other grandparents. Early lunch type of celebration because this granny does not want to be on the road after dark. They live 2 hours away. Will you be going out to celebrate Steve's birthday? Bet you can hardly wait for him to get that gift.

Shawnee I love that truck. Boy Bob has been patient getting it just the way he wanted it too. IT is a beauty. I would like those heated seats too. On star too. WOW. He is sure up with the times. My DD has that in her truck. Hope between the two of you you can figure out how everything works. Will he bring it in the house at night or sleep out there?????

Linda I discovered what those other muffin tops were when I opened up the bag. They are the cheddar cheese muffins that I did not care that much for. Maybe I can serve them to company or use them in a casserole dish of some sort. Can you store stuff in the fridge too after sealing it up? Just curious. I will check it out. I seem to keep stuff for quite a while since I am the only one here eating low carb.

Julie hope you are on the mend or at the doctors for some rx. Please take care of yourself and get rid of that crud.

HI to Jacki, Pam, Susan and other lurkers.

Lretta

Goodness where is everyone?

I think Julie went to the doctors with a high fever and I sincerely hope she is ok. Hope she checks in later.

Ginny, LOL I like your idea of e mailing dh with a picture of the model I want but we don't exchange gifts. Guess I'll just have to buy one when I get a chance.

Glad the snow got canceled. It's raining here and rather mild for this time of the year. Tonight the temps will drop and get really cold again.

Loretta, sorry you didn't like the cheddar muffins. I'm more into them than the sweet ones. Funny since I had a real sweet tooth before low carb.

Yes you can store vegetables and such in the refrigerator using Food Saver. It's supposed to keep them fresh much longer. You just leave three inches of bag before you seal and vacuum and as you need more you just cut along the seal. Then you reseal and vac again.

Roger, we want to hear all about the play today since it was worth canceling the Cardiologist's appointment for.

Susan must be on her way home. Hopefully she can get back here soon.

Carol, Bob is like us keeping a vehicle running for years. He is really going to enjoy the new one. Our truck is a 1990 and still going strong. LOL Must run in our family. My brother had a 27 year old Volvo and just got rid of it. It still ran really well.

Waving to Jackie and Pam.

Off to catch up.

Hi Guys!

I'm back! An uneventful trip back through Pittsburgh. DD and her DH picked us up at the airport, drove us home to find our furnace not working right.
DH began tinkering, (as Machinists do) then had to get a relay or something, then said the motor had something wrong, then the fan was running backwards. Then, after several trips to his work home Depot and radio shack, we finally had heat at around 10:30p.m.

We had the gas fire for heat in the living room but the rest of the cold house soon was eating it up,so DD and I cuddled together, under a quilt on the sofa with the two dogs.

Was a bit scattered today trying to get back into the swing of things. Did the Smokers Group tonight and at the office all day tomorrow! I guess I gotta start saving for the next Florida trip!

Confession Time!.....up 4lbs, I know I will get it off again soon! I am surprised it is only 4lbs after 3 weeks of more liberal than normal Carbs etc...

Hope Jacki's Dad and Julie are okay! Things change so quickly these days!

Carol,
What a fabulous Truck that sounds! Good for your DH treating himself.
LOL! at Chucksters, NOW!!!

Roger,
DSIL connected me to the Internet and email but something is still not running smoothly. When it opens it is still checking for AOL, takes a while to open a favorite and then it says workoffline, no connection to internet. I dont want to bug him cuz he worked on it till 8:30p.m tonight after work and last night he worked with DH to get our furnace going till 10:30p.m. and they are off to NYC on Friday till Sunday. Seems a popular spot for the young en's! DH and I have never been. We had a stop over at Kennedy Airport from the UK enroute to Canada in the early 70's but never been to the City, been to the State though!

Linda,
Yes, we travelled back all day yesterday. Left DS's house at 10:30a.m. arrived at our home 7p.m.

Loretta,
Keep safe driving on those roads, me too dont like driving at night anymore......and I am not a granny yet! DD was 10 weeks today, so only another 2 weeks to be out of the woods, then she can start announcing it.

Ginny,
Wow, betcha glad they cancelled that sneux! Do the Furkids like going out in it or prefer indoors? Oliver is pretty quick out there and back in the warmth again!

Wavin to Ya'll and Let's try to stay away from that Flu!
Till tomorrow night after work!

Just thought I'd check in before bed. Finally went to the Dr. today about this sore throat, swollen glands, fever and cough. What I thought was the flu was actually strep throat. Got lots of meds. 10 days of antibiotics. So back to bed gang.

Susan, Welcome home to the frozen North. Pittsburgh was uneventful?? LOL that's a first. We never had a good time at that airport.
Sorry about the furnace but now at least you have warmth.

Hi Y'all

Julie, glad to hear you went to Doc and got meds. Sure hope they do the trick fast! Rest and baby yourself and get well soonest.

Jacki, sending a big batch of good wishes to your Dad, bless his heart. Sure difficult seeing a parent ill. Hugs to you.

Welcome home, Susan I'm sure your DD and the FurKids thought that Snuggle Time was a good thing. Thankfully, your DH has the knowledge to tinker and got the furnace going....it would have been a costly service call/ repair otherwise.

Tink, how's things going in your beautiful country?

Zip, hope that play was a hit with y'all.
I'm sorry, but catfish is not my thing either. Sure caught a lot of them on the Mississippi, and promptly traded them to other fishermen for bass or crappie.

Ginny, has your back fully recovered? We want you in good shape, and able to hold your own with the FurGang and ponies.
Would love to see Steve's face when he gets his Goodies

BTW, ...LOL...saw in the paper where it's now politically incorrect to call minority groups "minority"...they are to be addressed/ recognized as "historically under-represented".
Haha, with my mixed-mutt heritage, I don't know know how to address myself

Loretta, please send your cheese biscuits to me I like to split them, add butter and garlic powder...broil...and enjoy with stew...oh, yum.
LOL, Bob has already developed a love/ hate relationship with that truck...its just too computerized / automated for him. Its hard for someone who has always prided himself on being able to fix anything mechanical to give up that "power" . He needs adjustment time.
Hell, its so classy, I'm ready to install a Porti-potti in the back seat, and LIVE in it (think: Beverly Hillbillies

About the Adults only Birthday parties....I sometimes gave those to my GBrats when they were younger...they liked being the center of attention, with no competition. Their Moms gave them separate "Kid'' parties, usually held at a local kid-friendly restaurant or rink.
HAVE FUN, and enjoy yourself.

Montana, for the reasons stated above re Bob, we keep everything forever too. Bought our travel trailer new in '78, still have it...he repairs it as needed, and I make new curtains every few years...(and its time for that again).
I've had my Blazer for about 15 years, and our "spare" car for more than that. They become family members, and he babies their working parts. Had the Blazer bucket seats redone today, will reinstall them tomorrow...I'll probably keep it forever, cause its "my baby". ...and since Bob installed the bigger engine in it, he knows it quite intimately LOL, guess I'm a redneck ..and keeping up with the Joneses' has never been my thing.

I'm a step closer to becoming Granny to a GrandPup
The married DGBrat closes on her house deal tomorrow, so that fenced yard for the (as yet unknown) pup is becoming a reality.
I'm craving FurKid cuddles.
The Chuckster took pity on me, and slept on my chest last night. I could barely breathe from his weight, but the warm fuzzies was worth it.

Be content...and if ya need an uplifting boost, commit a random act of kindness

C
