Any Over-40s trying to get pregnant?

I've been married one year, turning 42 in November, miscarried in June, and we're trying again. I'm doing well on the lowcarbing, but it's never easy. Right now were doing IUIs and hoping to be pregnant soon. Would love some friends!

Hi Razberry,
I'm 40 years old and I've been doing Atkins since the end of June and I just found out I'm pregnant! I did a home pregnancy test so I'm only a couple of weeks pregnant. This will be my first. I went from around 25 carbs a day up to 35 then 40 then then 45 all within a week. I didn't want to shock my body by giving it too many carbs all at once. I'm wondering how many carbs pregnant low carbers have daily. I'm guessing anywhere from 50 to 90? If anyone has the answer to this question I'd love to know because I want to eat correctly for the baby!
Razberry keep me posted, is this your first? I wish you all the luck!

Hi Razberry and Maybell,
I am 42 and just had a baby girl on Oct. 2nd! She is my first and was conceived naturally after 3 failed IUI's and many rounds of clomid and losing 70#'s on atkins. I have had 2 m/c's. Those are so hard to deal with.... big hugs to you Razberry. Keep trying and don't lose your faith.

Hi girls, I had a miscarriage over the weekend. I was only about 6 weeks along so it's like having a really heavy period. I feel so weird today. I will not allow myself to get discouraged though. I'm going back on Atkins today to get back in balance and then I hope to see you all real soon when I get pregnant again. ( Boo Hoo!)

Razberry and Maybelle - You are both welcome to come join us on the Pregnancy thread. There are people who are trying or were on the thread while they were trying and are still on because they concieved.

Maybelle - I'm sorry about your misscarriage. I hope you are able to take really good care of yourself. Such things are not easy.

Oh Maybell, I'm so sorry. I lost a baby two years ago, would have been our first, and it almost devastated me. My prayers are with you.

Thanks for the offer to come to the other board. I'll check it out. Sorry I can't remember now what your name was. : )
