Hi everybody,
We are joining Bob's California cousin and hubby for a show this afternoon called FAR AND WIDE by Arthur Schnitzler (1911). Normally we'd have dinner afterward but they are religious one day a year and can't eat after sundown (it's Yom Kippur...Day of Atonement) so we'll meet them for lunch at noon. Their trip is short so this is all we'll see of them. Strange time for me to eat but I'll have something light...maybe my annual cheeseburger. Days are getting too dark for comfort and I'm feeling closed in....oh gosh and Schnitzler's basic theme is "Nobody can be happy"...those Germans and their cheery outlook. Better get the light rig running this week for sure. Gee, I wish I had a pill for this. Temperature hasn't even gotten below 50° yet and already I feel I'm in the arctic. Susan, Is TM transcendental meditation from the old Maharishi Mahesh Yogi days? See I remember the 60's well too. Enjoy the day all.

Hey gang,
Just popping in so no one worries about me here... Zip, get the lights set up, sounds like you need them early this year. I hate the light/time change too. Messes with ya, but at least I have the greenhouse to get my sunshine quotas! Off to lurk, |

Hi Guys,
Urrggg! AOL locked me out this morning, so came via the blue e, Internet. DSIL explained it to me so I could get in. Roger, I know whatcha mean about those dark nights and less light in the day, feelin a bit of it too. I try to get as much natural light as I can when the sun is peeping through. Getting a bit concerned when we put the clocks back!LOL! TM means my ToastMasters meeting on Monday nights! BUT,my DB, 64 years old now, my half brother joined the Transendental Meditation movement about 30 years ago. He is now a monk in the movement and we never know where he is. He phones, out of the blue, every once in a while. He eats very simply and spends a lot of his time with his eyes closed meditating. A different life for some folks eh? His wife sufferred from MS so they originally both started going to the meetings for comfort and to decrease anxiety. He eventually left her quite amicably, after 30 years of marriage and four grown children, and went into the movement working for them. His claim to fame was to help put on a show at Harvard with Deepak Chopra. Hope ya enjoy the Show and your annual Cheeseburger! Ginny, Wow, that GH sounds like just the order for light deprevation! Happy counting those Orch-KIDS! Petals and Fur is the order at your house eh? Both winners to me! Hope to be back later tonight! ![]() |

Hi to all
MIA yesterday due to attending wedding in St. Louis. The drive was not too bad and I had some great directions to follow and that sure makes a difference. It was nice to see some of the great grandkids too. Lots of DH's family came to the wedding. It was an all day affair because of the distance and we left home at 7 and returned after 8 pm last evening. The weather was great and the bride was beautiful. The food was good at the reception and I did not have a problem eating low carb. We also took some deviled eggs and water with us. Zip glad you checked in. Enjoy that show and the visit with Bob's cousin. Lunch first sounds like a great idea. I don't mind the dark days but I am cold already also. I need to look for the fleece shirts as Linda talked about last year. I'm about ready to drag out the long thermal undershirts. Ginny good to hear from you. Those fur kids and orkids sure keep you hopping with chores of love. Isn't it great to have joys like that in our daily lives? Linda I wish you could kick that cleaning habit too. I just seem to be able to let the house go for 2 weeks sometimes. It is just dust and as long as no one moves anything out of place we don't notice it. It's a good thing we have company so I get the cob webs out. My kitchen cabinets are needing some attention too. I did get the stationary site to work and it makes a nice difference. I am enjoying it. Thanks Julie. Susan glad that you are looking forward to a less hectic week. Hope you enjoyed the dinner and cards. Isn't it nice that we can now make better food choices and enjoy eating out and not be tempted any more by the Sweet Table. What a big improvement in my life. Pam hope you and grandkids survived at daycare central. Glad the party for DD turned out nicely. Hi to Shawnee and Jackie and the rest of our lurkers. |

Hi Y'all
Kinda on the cool to rainy side here the last few days, even a lil ThunderBoomer show yesterday afternoon. The Chuckster is not a fan of thunder, and finds safety/ seclusion in my closet for the duration. ZIP, hope you are feeling well enough to get outside some; even a stroll in overcast days is better than being cooped up. Pup and Chuckster love this cool weather, they seem to romp harder and are more frisky. Hope the Lunch, visiting, and Show will lift your spirits...well, two of the three anyway..![]() Loretta, glad ya got the chance to visit relatives, then get yourself home safely. Did ya cry at the Ceremony? LOL, I cry even when I'm not close to the participants...something about Ceremonies, Parades, services....guess I wear my emotions too close to the surface. I have a Beef Pot Roast on right now, the house smells heavenly Gotta get around to trying those CarolynF cookies too.Susan, LOL..interesting about your brother. Guess most of us have some relatives who march to their own drummers...Good luck with your speech at TM tomorrow, wish we could all be there for it![]() Goddess, any plans on the horizon for GH expansion? Seems like quite a bit of work to keep up with all your Flora and Fauna, but know ya love it!Hi to Montana, Julie, Tink, and Jacki...hope y'all are having a great Sunday. Hi Again!
I cant believe the round about way I have to get here! I hope AOL is connected to the Internet tomorrow. I am having to bypass them. DSIL wants me to get high speed with another company. Seriously thinking about it. Loretta, How wonderful a Wedding and all those family members to mingle with, just a nice "shot in the arm" for a Fall Day! That was a long day for you guys. Glad you got back safe and sound. and glad you were able to stay LC easily! Shawnne, Yikes, a Thunderbumper show! Oliver is not too keen on those either. He jumps if I crack the polystyrene tray that the meat comes on. I keep forgetting and fold it to place in the bin. The bang it makes sends him darting for cover! Poor lil thing!Regarding the Speech, I still havent tied it all together yet! I am off tomorrow so I will have the day to write it, trim it, and rehearse it a bit. Yikes, I hope I have enough time! Oh well, this is supossed to be my Fun time! Wavin to Linda, Pam, Jacki and Julie.....where are you guys today? ![]() Last edited by SuSUN : 10-05-2003 at 05:54 PM. |

Hi everyone,
Glad you checked in Roger. We were rather worried. So How did lunch and the play go? Yes get that light system up and running. In a few weeks we have to turn the clocks back, and it will soon be dark at 4:30 How's the back? Ginny, thanks for checking in. We do worry about our missing crew. Susan, just about everyone I know with AOL HATES it. Go with cable isp. it's great. Loretta, Glad a great time was had by you and yours at the wedding. How was the traffic? LOL I'll work on my cleaning habit. Shawnee, Nothing can beat the smell of a pot roast cooking in the kitchen. Well, except maybe a turkey. Hope it was as delicious as it sounds. It's getting time to start sharing recipes again. I have a wonderful cream of tomato soup recipe I got from the 4B's restaurant in Missoula that is wonderful and easy. I'll try to post it later. Waving to Julie, Pam, Jackie. Busy day for us. I had to go to my grandbrats birthday party at a bowling alley and then rush home to finish getting dinner for the moms. Then I got involved in a book. Off to catch up a bit around here. Later. |

Sorry but big birthday bash today took everything out of me. It went fine and love having all of them here but sure glad to see them wave good bye.
Roger, I hear ya on the light problem. I just hate the short days and do get grumpy in the winter. Should get one of those lights. Susan, hope you have luck tomorrow getting that speech ready. I could never talk in front of a croud like that. I have you up on a pedestal!!! AOL sucks! Get rid of it in a hurry. I love my cable. So fast and convient. Linda, sounds like you had a busy day too. Do the moms drive or do you have to go pick them up and return them? Hi to Ginny as she rolled on by. Shawnee, clouds are here to stay. Hopefully not for our usual 9 months but think we used up our good luck already. Loretta, what a nice wedding. I love weddings. Glad your trip was good too. Makes for a pleasant day. Hi to Jacki and Pam. Off to rest some more. Those kids can sure take the &#$@ out of you. Sorry not as chatty as usual. See ya tomorrow. Julie |
