HELLO THERE!!!

Hi,
I'm just introducing myself because I know how forums can become their own little world sometimes... and I've never been in this forum before! Someone mentioned it the other day and do you know I didn't even know a maintain forum existed??? Silly me.... should have ventured out of the main lobby at times.... LOL

Just wanted to say hi- I'll be reading and posting in here at times.
I'm not sure if everyone in this forum frequents the main lobby often or knows me.... if not- this is me

Technically I reached my "original goal" weight of 120lbs on 8/16/03.
My low so far was 113.8 but since then I've been bouncing around on weight as high as 118lbs since then. Right now I'm at 114.6 (as of this morning anyway LOL).
My original goal was set when I was at my heaviest weight- and I was quite generous with my goal. I still have stomach, thigh and calves fat to lose. I'm also exercising so if they tone up without me losing a lb- I'll be fine with that too.

My new goals are to tone those areas up- and I've set a new goal weight to hopefully keep me from 'straying' a little too far with the SF and LC "stuff". Ever since I reached goal I've been having issues with being a little lax with the lowcarb "stuff" rather than just all real foods like I was before. That's why I'm bouncing around on weight. I'm TRYING really hard to raise my carbs slowly in pre-maintenance and lose the last few lbs (and/or just tone those areas up) but it's not that easy. I'm sure you all know that. LOL I relied on the "no appetite" with being in deep ketosis in OWL before and now when I raise my carbs- then I get ravenous... end up eating some SF or LC "stuff" or even legal treats (legal as in even for induction) that I know stall me or have made me gain in the past... then I get my head on straight again, eat right for a few days, start raising my carbs again- boom..... neverending cycle. I'm working on it.

I also think I have a very low CCML. Has anyone else noticed this? I can't stray past the 28-30 carb range without gaining. I wouldn't mind if I stayed the same for awhile.... but nope, gain. What a bummer! I was hoping I'd have a higher CCML like maybe 40 or SOMETHING.... geesh. LOL

Anyway, hope you guys/gals will have me...

Shelly you have done a fabulous job in reacing your goal. Congratulations!!!

We sure will be happy to have another maintainer with us on our bulletin board.
We frequently try new recipes etc. There are lots of good low carb things to eat, muffins, bread. Hard to believe that is possible with out gaining weight.

I really don't count calories or carbs or CCML. I just eyeball my carb intake and watch portions. That and drink at least 120 ounces of water a day and exercise. I guess my mind is too lazy for all that computing.

Welcome and again congratulations with that great weight loss.

Hi- thanks for the warm welcome!
Well, I don't know if *I* could eat that stuff without gaining... woe is me. LOL

I don't really have to watch portions- because I still don't eat much in the way of portions. I mean I don't have deep ketosis helping me with appetite- but I think my stomach is smaller after all these months of not being hungry and eating small portions- yanno? So I just can't eat much at each meal... and I don't like feeling stuffed anymore AT ALL. Not even mildly stuffed- makes me feel ill, tired, etc.

But I have to watch my carbs/calories- I have definite limits that if I go over them- I gain weight. Calories are not quite as strict as carbs.... I definitely have a low CCML though. I wish I could be lazy about keeping an eye on it and computing/etc. Maybe someday....

I do drink lots of water though- that's ALL I drink. I don't really try to drink a certain amount- I just drink it all day when I want to- which is constantly. LOL I do keep track though- and it's never less than 128oz.... but like recently it's been on the high side- 160/152/170 and such. Definitely no problems drinking enough water.

Thanks again for the welcome! I may need some help here and there from you all that are more experienced at maintaining than I am.
