Hi all,

Rain this morning (and cold) followed by predicted rain through Noon tomorrow. Modified the car reservation and STILL got a good price. We'll pick up car at Noon tomorrow (Thursday) til Noon Saturday. I think we have a CHANCE of something besides all day rain, but with THIS summer, who knows?

A neighbor came back from a big catered barbecue on Monday evening. She brought us a PITCHFORK full of mesclun salad ...and about a quart of Lemon Chicken. It made for a delicious simple dinner last night- I had leftover fried rice. I HEAT a mean lemon chicken. There's more of everything for lunch today.

We have no idea how to structure today in the rain, but something is sure to turn up (thank god all the wash is done.)
Well there's always the good old Newport Center Mall in the backyard.

Great minds think alike or something like that Roger.
I just put up a thread but will delete.

So where are you going to drive to? Hopefully the weather will clear up for ya.

copy and paste
Couldn't get back here last night but I thought I would put a quick thread up to get started today.
Is everyone sleeping in?

Julie, Andrea is the webmistress of another lc bb. (LCE) and the bb has been down for about a week.

Running out the door to work about 8 hrs today for a final summer picnic for the patients but hopefully I'll get back here later.
Have a good one gang.

Linda, when is that contract up? Going to resign? Or quit? Enjoy the picnic. Anything there to eat thats legal? So care to say what site Andrea is with even though it's down?

Gotta run and get in the shower. Busy, busy day. Hope to get home in time to watch the Mariner's game. Julie

Good Morning Magnificient Ones!

It is still dry up here, although a few clouds in the blue sky. think we are to get shower this aft.

Roger,
Wow, you were treated to a veritable feast last night!
Wishing you blue skies on your travels this weekend, glad you cna manage to get a change of venue!
Thanks for the explanation of lollygagging! You see in England a popsicle is called an ice-Lolly and gagging, like a gag reflex, so got me wondering! LOL!

Linda,
Yikes, off for an 8 hour shift, you will need your snuggies and a glass of wine tonight!

I am off for the day again, only going in on Friday this week, the Groups start up next week! Gotta get my brain in gear!

Sore back irritating now, cuz its takin its time going!
Felt a dip in my mood yesterday, so probably need some good amount of fresh air and exercise to raise the endorphins. I think I can manage a Walk!

Waving to those that follow, L8er guys!

Julie,
We were posting together, but what else would I expect from my Twin. Have a wonderful lunch with your DS and his partner! :

Susan,

For symptomatic relief (without being knocked on keister) have doc prescribe some SOMA (carisoprodyl). It's a muscle relaxant that's been used for decades. I like it and always have a bottle around. It's quite reasonably priced too:
http://www.drugstore.com/pharmacy/pr...228&trx=1Z5006
Drat, I checked some Canadian pharmacies and it's possible it's not available North of the border.

Julie,
Mesclun is a very ch-chi (and EXPENSIVE) salad made with mixed baby greens like baby raddicchio, arugula, chervil, endive (teeny), baby mustard greens. Nothing much bigger than a square inch leaf. REALLY good and Fancy-Schmancy (and about $10/pound )!

Oh good, it stopped raining for a minute so I'm off to the MALL!

Hi Y'all

Heat topped out at 96° here yesterday, expecting more of same today....phooey!

Our Curves had moved location over the weekend. Got in a really good sweaty workout yesterday. Then GBrat and I did a little retail therapy.....I just bought books.

Weird sense of humor reigns supreme in our house. Lollygagging is frequently used thusly: "been too busy gagging lollies to get anything done."

Now its time to slay the Lollies, and get busy with the Suzy stuff.

Be back later on.

Have a great one, Gang.

Rain rain 3.3 inches yesterday during the day alone. Raining again this morning. Will check the gauge later. Zip you with your 1.5 We do need it though and I'm happy to see it.
Now if our humidity would only lessen.

We sure do have a nice cross thread of Americana here with our city and country dwellers. I love to hear all of the goings on in our parts and the Canandian parts. You all are so interesting, I enjoy just reading the posts. You make me LOL half the time.

Zip I guess you sure lucked out getting that Mesclun salad and Lemon Salad. You could get a pic of that because if we wait for you to win the lottery before you post a pic it will sure be a while. Nice of your neighbor to think of you two. Sure hope your plans stick with the car rental and trip. It will be an adventure and so nice to visit with DS.

Shawnee I like your version of the Gagging the Lollies. Glad that you and GB got to go out and do some retail therapy.

Julie hope you have a great time today with your visit and lunch.
Glad the Mariners won and you had a great game to watch even though you got fired up. Dh loves those close games. Glad to get your reports on the bread. Right now I am not going to make anything more bread until I eat up some of what I have in the freezer. Glad to hear that it was great. Is that Cardamon similar to fennel seeds?

Susan glad you got some days off and a break from the sessions.
Sorry to hear about that back bothering you. Are you still doing your sit ups? Interesting to hear about the Ice Lolly. Must be a cold popsicle. That exercise sure will help you relax that mind. Do you do any meditating? That is a sure calmer also.

Linda I hope you don't get stuck at the bbq grill today. Enjoy the day if you can. Do you have any favorite patients there? I'll bet that you do get some satisfaction from you "labors" there.
I worked with the mentally handicapped for a while and I was amazed at how I got to really care about some of them. I sure did like my chosen profession of nursing. But now I like being home a lot better

Will check back later.
Jackie back to work boo hoo. HI
Ginny frolicking with the pups and relaxing with the orkids. HI

Hey everyone,

Took the van in to get the a/c charged, better late than never LOL! Then did a little cleaning around here. Brought out the old dust sucker and eliminated large quantities of dirt and dog hair from the house. Amazing how it spreads when we have the pups restricted to the kitchen! As you all know, I'm pretty allergic to the Suzy Homemaker stuff, so I had to quit with vacuuming before the 'bug' got me!!!

Hope y'all are having a good day, and I'll try to check back later if I can

Till l8r,

Hi Guys,

Just poppin back, inbetween cooking supper! I have a coconut pie in the oven along with beef madras curry. For DH paulo rice and roti, thinner type nan. I will allow myself half a slice about 14 carbs I think!

I took a walk with Oliver. The light and fresh air did me good! Spirits lifted and also getting the meds out of me. Took the Mobicoxx twice yesterday, so should be almost out of me now. Feeling more with it now. I had a soak again in epsom salts and did some back exercises to gradually pull the disc back in. It feels improved so I hope by tomorrow it has gone back in.

Roger,
Thanks for the Med tip! Sounds wonderful just whatcha need when the ole back acts up! I've made a note for the doc. and bookmarked the site, yes, yet another favorite!

Ginny,
glad ya got the A/C charged. We did this summer too. DH's friend has the equipment at his business so DH took it there. DH makes exact parts for this guy, "machines" small engine parts as a favour, so we had it charged for $35.00, not bad eh? He said something about putting it on monthly even in the winter to charge the coils or something! so we dont lose the Freeon, sp.

Loretta,
I have not been doing the sit ups for a long time, so easy to get out of that. Yes, an ice-lolly is a popsicle in England!
We do have quite a wide range of North America on our BB!
Are your pillows complete now?

Shawnee,
I so admire you, off to Curves again! At least that is not lollygaggin!
Have you chosen a new book? now Roses are Red is complete? You'll be proud of me coconut pie, just took out of the oven! I dont have any syrup for the spongebobs flaxbread. Cant get it as easily as you guys! Will pack the suitcase in November when visiting DS.

Linda,
Hope your day went well at the picnic!

Julie,
How was your lunch and wonderful company?

Wavin to Jacki, I have gotta check out your album soon!

Back again, or what's left of me. I'm pooped. It was a nice picnic but two of us ended up cooking outside on the gas grill in a downpour. Busy after that but fun for the patients. My feet and back are killing me. AND I don't do too well on only 4 or 5 hrs of sleep.

Roger, mesclun salad is wonderful but soooo expensive. I think here it is $8.99 lb when it's available.

So what goodies did you find at the mall?

Julie, Hope you had a wonderful lunch with your son and so. What did you have? Oh I think Mary is worried. She is confused about your post on roll call. Thinks maybe you "forgot" about your lunch date for tomorrow.

That bb is low carb eating.

The contract isn't up till the end of the fiscal year in NYS which is March 31. I don't know about next year or not yet.. I LOVE the money. NYS pays extremely well. LOL Money is evil stuff.

Susan, sorry you are suffering a down mood and a sore back too. That walk and getting those meds out of your system will work wonders.
Yumm, your dinner sounds wonderful! Care to share your recipes?
Blue sky??? What's that? lol

You bet i'm in my snuggies and will get a glass of wine soon. A really BIG one.

Shawnee, LMAO... gagging my Lollies. I love it. You can send that heat on over to the east coast when you are through with it. It's downright fall like here.

Ginny, lordy you need a top notch air conditioner down there. Gerard bought a do it yourself kit and did ours. I think it was only about 15 bucks.

It's amazing how much fur those little guys and gals shed isn't it?

Loretta, that nasty storm dumped about that much rain here too. What a mess!!
Yes I have a few favorite patients as you did. Sometimes it's difficult to stay emotionally detached. Some just get to you. I bet you were a hell of a good and caring nurse.

Bet you are getting excited about your trip, eh?

YIKES Roger!!! $10.00 a lb.??? WOW, hope you enjoyed it.

Susan, We had a great time with DS2 and partner. The weather is beautiful and the restaurnt was really good. Took my book on the ferry and DH and I read since he's not a great communicator. LOL I finished mine, a good thriller by Ridley Pearson...."Chain of Evidence." Sorry about your back and hope it's better tomorrow.

Loretta, I can't believe it....3.3 inches of rain! Poor thing!!

Shawnee, You had 96 and we only had 87. Cooling down to 83 tomorrow! Anything over 80 is too hot for me. I'll try and enjoy it though as by Sat. we'll be back down to 67. 20 degrees, can you believe? BTW, James Patterson is one of my favorite authors.

Ginny, I'm allergic to dust....no kidding!

Linda, too tired little lady?? Put those feet up and have that glass of vino. Too bad it rained. I'll go to the Goldies now and find out what Mary is up to. Lunch is on as far as I know.

Peeking in to say "hi". I'm still here, and try to lurk when things are calm. It IS getting settled around here. Still baby-sitting terrible two's DGB. Working also, a couple days a week, and getting over to Curves. Although posts have been pretty few from me, I think of you all every day!
