It's been a month since I started Atkins and I haven't cheated once... but will I?

Is it normal to breeze right through atkins in your first month without cheating? The only things I've had that I feel I shouldn't have were 2 low carb chocolate bars and 1 low carb shake when I REALLY had to have something sweet, but that's it. Otherwise I feel very normal and haven't felt tortured when co-workers eat birthday cake or order fried chicken, etc.

I don't have the desire to cheat, and I was wondering if that is normal, and if there's a certain time point where most people broke down and HAD to have something that is taboo on this diet.

I'm just curious...

Hi Kitty

You probably have a combination of strong will power and finding the right lc foods that you enjoy. It is such a filling way of eating that one does not usually get a lot of hungar pains. Are you drinking your water too. That usually helps a bunch.

There are lots of sweet things you can eat by using the sugar substitues if you have a hankering for sweets. My new passion is the root beer float using heavy cream and diet rite root beer. But I limit myself to 1 on a Sunday.

The others on the lc way of eating will probably be jealous of your success. Hang with it gal.

Hi Kitty

It seems that everyone has an individual reaction to LowCarbing...some struggle, some breeze thru, some have a combo of easy times and hard.

When I get to the point where I am craving an absolute NO-NO, I either have a small bite of it,..or better yet...figure out how to make an LC version of it.

Best wishes for your continued success.

Good for you. Once I made up my mind to do it, I never cheated either. Well, this was my second time on Atkins. I thought of it as a diet back in the 70's and went off when I lost what I wanted. Guess I was young and Stupid! LOL

There were some rough spots but I didn't cave in.
Keep up the great work.

Keep at it...

Now that I've rededicated myself to it...I'm doing great.

But I think alot of it is about how determined you are.

In my humble and individual opinion...this diets greatest flaw is that it works too well for the person.

A diet working too well? Yes that is definitely the case here...since on this diet I do not feel like I am dieting until I look on the scales.

Because it works so well and you lose weight so well it is easy to cheat because the diet itself doesnt require near the will power of other diets that force you to starve.

The fight to not eat sugar is alot easier than the fight to not eat food in general.

Personally I am very thankful for atkins...and every time I think I am slipping I remind myself that if I dont have the will power to do THIS diet then I will never lose weight...and somehow that wakes me up and I continue foward.

Just remember one thing...you havent cheated yet...so this means you feel good about yourself....so dont cheat...because if you do your going to feel like that nasty stuff left on the bottom of that barrel found outside your local pub.

Use the Force...Strong it Is...Help you it Can!
