Wednesday, we're back...YAY!
ZIP, cover your eyes, cause you won't wanna read this: We had glorious Thunder-Boomers and rain yesterday ![]() ![]() ..a mixed blessing, the lightning started more fires, even a few here in town..plus knocked out the power.Jacki and I were starting Lunch when it blew...kinda fun, dining in the "twilight" at mid-day ![]() TWEEKERS is great, love it. Be back later. ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 08-06-2003 at 09:57 AM. |

Howdy y'all!
Sure am glad I've taken tonight off. Tried to get a nap after I got home and had wierd disjointed dreams in a very light sleep. Was almost a relief to get back up again LOL DR got to the airport in plenty of time, no trouble checking in and checking baggage. Got choked up with the goodbye hug but managed not to leak. This afternoon I have to run into town to return some movies, go to the bank, etc. Then I'll run over to HT's and see that new baby in person. Hope the mare will let me near her baby....sometimes they can be a bit protective, but at least I'll be able to see him! Might even make a run to the tack store and see what I just can't live without LOL My kind of retail therapy! Well, all, hope you have a great day, and glad you finally got some rain Shawnee!

Hi Boy how we miss our bb when it is not available. I could not get in last night and just went to bed. This (now noon) is the first I have tried to get in. Thank goodness we are back to being connected.
I like Susan's idea for the bakery TWEEKERS. Great idea. That you two are for sure is tweekers big time. Susan I wish you could show us a picture of that pool and surrounding landscape. It sure sounds beautiful. Awww Ginny a new baby horse. What a treasure. I sure would like to see that in person too. Hope things are going well for your friend HT. Glad that you got to and from the airport without problems. Linda you are really going to be anxious to get home today and get back on the bb. 8 hours? Well that might be better than 2 4 hour days. Zip my order is on the way as of yesterday. Wonder how long it will take to get here from NY?? I am about out of my vit b 5s. Did you find some vacation activity for the day? Shawnee will you be getting the silicone muffin pan? Those muffins sure came out of the pan easily because you could push them up from the bottom. I like it and the nice size of the muffins. Glad that you two enjoyed lunch even with out the lights. You two must be just some special shinning individuals. Jackie any more photos for us to see? We sure like pics. Hi to Pam We miss hearing from you. We'll leave the light on for you. Hope all is well. Later Loretta Last edited by Loretta V : 08-06-2003 at 12:54 PM. |

Hi again
Hi Loretta and Goddess. I'll respons to y'all later on, stay tuned LOL I'm off to Curves in a bit. Be back later to see what's up. Just wanted to tell y'all I made Jacki's new version of Flax Muffins last night: MAJOR YUM, like a heavy-textured bread in muffin form ![]() I skipped her version of making up a Mix, so just cut it down to what I needed for ONE recipe's worth. Here it is, makes SIX big muffins..or probably 10 small regular ones. (Bob's Red Mill Vital wheat gluten in bulk bins is only twenty carbs per cup!) I grease the pans with Bacon grease. ![]() Jacki's new Flax muffins Mix in a bowl, by hand 1/3 cup wheat bran 1/3 cup flax meal 1/3 cup ground walnuts 1/2 cup wheat gluten 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp xanthan gum Mix in small bowl: 1/4 cup cream 3/4 cup water 2 large eggs mix the wet into the dry until blended and smooth. Ladle into sprayed muffin tins by 1/4 cup each. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. If you wanted to make these sweet you could use sugar free davinci syrup (flavor of choice) in place of the water. The texture turned out really nice. |

Hi Magnificient Ones!
Just getting here! I am glad I missed the BB "lockout" ![]() I would be so frustrated not being able to get in when I am ready to post. Had a lazy morning, much needed after a busy day at work yesterday! Spent the afternoon with DD preparing for her guests, last minute things. Last night we had a huge downpour and the mud at the side of the pathway down to her pool has decided to move per "Romancing the Stone".........DD fit to be tied! Tried to calm her, the landscapers were working hard at it all day today, to arrange some drainage, he said they couldnt lay sod till it all dries out. Yikes, she almost hit the roof! She stresses over the small things but this pool has been a long undertaking, delay after delay, testing the ole patience! Poor thing her and her DH are snapping at each other too! They are almost at the end of it all and then the rain delays them a bit more! His sister has arrived by now, we have had more rain this aft but seems to be drying up fast, so they can at least sit out on the back porch and overlook the pool. Loretta, when it is all completed with the Landscaping I will get DSIL to take a pic and help me post it. Shawnee, Glad ya got some wet stuff........much needed Rain! So you Gals had your lunch in the twilight! Are you the "Twilight Tweekers?" If the PUP is involved in your bakery, you could name it WOOFERS AND TWEEKERS! LOL!Ginny, weird how the subconscious stirs up the days happenings, probably stuff with the reluctant farewell. Dont reflect on it too much, just be glad it is out of the subconscious now and all dealt with! Glad you are taking some time off from work.....great isnt it? Did ya buy anything from the Tack Shop.....how is the new baby....is he adorable? Linda, so you worked today? I have the LAST Prenatal Group tomorrow night.......yippppeee!!!! and I am working Friday all day at the office! I will probably do more hours in the Fall to get the $$$s together for FLA.......gotta "kick start" the Economy somehow! with my little contribution. Julie, YOU lucky gal with all those adorable grandbrats! Yes, we just missed each other yesterday, posting at the same time, we are soooo similar! LOL! I Loved the deep message and a good reminder to value each moment. Roger, what happened to YOU today???? Oliver brought in a soggy wet branch this morning and I thought of Noah after the storm, the Olive Branch etc....... Are ya still bailing out down there? Hey, great news regarding the Bishop ordination......too bad about the split offs! When will people recognise EQUALITY for all in God's people. The RCs are quickly losing my vote over the same issue! Jacki, keep posting we wanna know whatcha gonna bake next??? Fab pics! Pam, ya got buried under those Gbrats agin? Till tomorrow....... ![]() |

about my muffin recipe
today I added 1 tsp vanilla and 1/4 tsp stevia extract (the white powder) to try out a sweet muffin. It turned out good! Oh, and if you have guar gum instead of xanthan gum you can substitue. Shawnee....I know you can't eat the guar. I like the 'woofers and tweekers' name too. Maybe we should become lc bakers for people and doggies!! ![]() ![]() |

Hi everyone,
Guess Roger gave up trying to get on here this am. Darn server! Hope he isn't soaking wet down there. We had some nasty storms go through here late yesterday and today. One right in the middle of our picnic with the patients. Shawnee, OMG that recipe sounds really good. Gotta try that soon. I'm glad you got the much needed rain but those fires just stink. Hope they didn't do too much damage and are under control. Aww Ginny, it must have been dificult to let him go. He was such a help and good friend to you both. It's a good thing you took the evening off from work. Rest and relax. Hope you found something wonderful at the tack shop. Can you post a picture of HT's new baby? We would all love to see him. Loretta, LOL I was beside myself last night and early this am about the bb. Guess we are all addicted to this site. There are a few others I visit but am drawn to this one. Glad you like the new muffin tin. One of these days I'll find one of those. I may check in Montana when we get there. Susan, Your poor DD must be so stressed. When you want a project finished and finished right, nothing goes smoothly. Hopefully the problems will be solved soon. Glad you have your last Prenatal group. If you don't like it, it's difficult to do it. Jackie, thanks for sharing your cooking skills with us. We are always looking for good lc things to try. Poor Julie has her hands full with the new baby, grandbrats staying over, death in the family and planning an anniversary get- a-way. Girl, let it go and do what YOU want. You need some time to yourself. Pam, let us know how GD is doing. We understand she is out of the hospital and on breathing treatments. Pop in when you can. OMG my mom just called and has a nuker muffin pan for me. Seems she mentioned looking for one to a friend of hers. The lady had one in her cabinet that she hasn't used in 15 years. YIPPIE it's MINE now. Bless her heart. More later. |

Hi. Yes, Kaitlyn is home and so far so good. Other news is that older DD's family is moving to Tahoe, and temporarily living with us. They've rented a house, and will move in the 15th. In the meantime, there are 6 people, and 5 dogs here at my little house. Sooo-I'll get back with you all later this month, I hope!!!!

Hi again
Ginny, Thanks for the RAIN thoughts, it was wonderful while it lasted. I know you will miss your DR, good friend and chef that he is. Hope things are settling down for HT; how great you got to see that new four-legged baby! HAHA, at first, I thought you meant HORSE shoes from the Tack shop![]() Hi Tink, good to hear from ya! Good news re your lil Granddaughter. Are you finding any time for yourself to unwind? Sneaking off to Curves? I am soooo glad I can go there.Won't be long til you have your home back under control again..it will seem larger then too. LOL Montana, did ya invent new cuss words and threaten to shoot the 'puter when ya couln't get on the BB ? ![]() Oh, Happy Dance, you got a Nuker Muffin! GO Girl! The local fires were controlled, but the big ones still rage on. Bet that was a LONG eight hour shift. Bet it made your Vac time seem even more appealing. Loretta, glad you are so pleased with your Pan. I haven't run across one yet, but have asked GBrat to grab up one in the CITY if she spots one. She gets to Portland and other large places way more than I. Went to Curves again today. If the amount of sweating I did correlates with my success, then I was successful today..LOL Susan, the timing was too tight for your DD's pool completion and the arrival of company, poor dear. Perfection so often eludes the most carfully laid plans, so she needs a glass of wine and some kick-back time. You are TOO funny: Woofers and Tweekers. Jacki also has a pretty Pup..and I have a recipe for LC Dog Bones that my Pup loves. Lookout World, are ya ready for this idea???????? LOLOK, Jacki..I admit I put a dab of Vanilla in the ones I baked last night. Next batch will be doubled, no fooling around, they disappear too fast! Thanks so much for those Pan Patty squash, they were fried Cottage-style for dinner tonight. ZIP, any exciting happenings out your way? Julie, have you nailed down your plans? Did you get some rain? It sure brought out the slugs en masse...I spent some time murdering them with my pointed stick. Bob thought I was having too much fun, so he made himself one too ![]() later ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 08-06-2003 at 10:40 PM. |

I'm so sorry I've been MIA today. Like Linda said, my life is like a soap opera right now. Leaving tomorrow for Spokane (6 hour drive) for a funeral of my DH's uncle. He is a Jesuit priest who married us and remarried us on our 25th. We were very close to him. He was almost 90 and he lived a good life. It will give us a great chance to see all of the relatives we never see. Will get back just in time to leave again the next day, Sunday, for a few days of R & R at a resort on the ocean beach. It is our 40th anniversary and it will be a nice change from all the hoopla going on in our lives this summer. Patti and baby went home from the hospital today and all is well. Got all the DGK home to their respective homes. Have a sitter coming in to take care of Bo. Took the 13 yo to the mall today for a little thank you for helping me out thses past few days. She was a dream. I'm sure my life is no different than anybody elses. I just don't think I can address everyone tonight. It's now, 11:15 and getting pretty tired. Shawnee, you asked about rain. We did have a little I was told by my DH at dinner last night. Was so busy with DGK, I hadn't even noticed. Knew it was cloudy though. LOL It wasn't much though. I can just see you and Bob staking those slugs. Don't ya just hate them?? Copied the recipe for the muffins...thanks Jacki and Shawnee. Never owned any of that "gum" stuff. heheh Guess, I'll get some. Which one should I buy?
Hi to Pam (my MIA friend), Susan (my twin), Ginny, (my orchid helper, thanks again), Linda, (my night time vigil friend), Loretta, (my meditation guru), Jacki (my new friend) and Zip, (my computer man). Hopefully check in on Sat. night and be back on Tuesday. Will miss all of you guy's. Julie
