Tuesday, Wet, Wet Tuesday

HAPPY TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY LINDA AND GERARD (That's SILVER!) I wish you many more.

After much angst and delaying, we've decided to cancel the vacation and just enjoy ourselves around New York. The 2 weeks of daily rain with another week planned has taken it's toll. By now the mosquitoes must be so dense on Plum Island that I'd be hospitalized after day one- my GOD, they're spraying QUEENS (NYC) today. So after postponing the car AGAIN to Thursday, I'm going to the ENTERPRISE web site in a minute and cancelling the car completely. The weather gods WON! I think we've had the rainiest summer since the last ice age and there's nothing worse than sitting in a beach house in the rain-I'd rather be home.

Loretta,
You're right on the 30 ounce cans of Lecithin. It's 2 extra ounces and a buck less, but I really should have gotten the 14 ouncers anyway for freshness. I keep the opened can in the freezer so it shouldn't go rancid, but the 14 ouncer takes up less freezer space. This is my first attempt at the bargain 30 ouncer and maybe my last...we'll see. Yhat Puritan Pride 3 for 1 sale is REALLY something. My only complaint is they have no liquid cod liver oil...only capsules, so THAT I have to get from Vitamin Shoppe. It sounds like your order was big enough for the free shipping ($100)?? It's smart to order with somebody.

Julie,
Big congratulations on your fifth grandbirth, I also wish you 5 more. You are positively BEAMING with pride.

Ginny,
Bet your orchids LOVE this humidity...no misting needed this Summer.

Well, looks like I'll be here and posting for the forseeable! Though we'll go SOMEWHERE as soon as the monsoon season ends.

Be well all.

Oh Roger, I'm so sorry your weather has made you cancel your vacation plans. This is quite a summer huh? Ours being so terrible hot for us and you having all that rain. Whats happening?

DH favorite uncle who is a Jesuit priest, and the one who married us has just died. We think we have to make a quick trip to Spokane (6 hour drive) for the funeral. You always wonder who the 3rd one wil be as they always come in threes. We were going to the ocean for our 40th anniversary on Sunday morning til Tuesday. Hoping we can still make it but not sure of the funeral date yet. Think it may be Friday and if thats the case, we can still make the reservations at the resort I made.

My 3 DGD are calling and need to get dressed. LOL

Take care everyone...hi to all, Julie

Gee Zip too bad about cancelling that vacation. Can't say that I blame you. No fun in all that rain. This has been a very unusal summer season, here too. Lots of rain lately when August is really drought like here. I'm sure that you and Bob can find plenty to do there in the city. I was wondering about the size of the container of the 30 ounce. That must be a big can. I don't freeze my jars until I open them and then I put the granules in a plastic bag. (less space too) I bet you could put that 30 ounces in a gallon freezer bag.

Julie sorry to hear about your Uncle's death. Was he ailing? Glad you will be celebrating your anniversary in a special way. DH & I are coming up to a big 5th year anniversary in Oct.
You sure are a busy grannie there with the girls. Enjoy your time with them.

Willl check back in a short while.

Loretta

Hey gang,

Last full day with DR, we sure are gonna miss him! Up early tomorrow morning to get him to the airport. Wonder how or if I'll be able to function at 5 a.m.!

Kinda whupped right now, full belly from taco pizza. Would like to take a nap, but that's not gonna happen!

Zip, sorry you cancelled your vac! But better to wait until the weather will cooperate and the mosquito population dies down.

Linda, glad you had such a nice anniversary. 25 years really is a milestone anymore!

Julie, I bet the new momma is glad it's all over. Have fun with the grandkids! Hope you get to celebrate your 40th as planned. Our sympathies on your loss.

Shawnee, still working on that rain for ya. At least it's getting close! We had more last night, it's been really nice this year to not have to water flowerbeds!

Loretta, I bet the toms are loving the heat and humidity they've had lately. When do they usually stop producing?

Susan, sounds like your night out was wonderful! How nice to have family do fun things like that together!

Jacki, between you and Shawnee I reckon you could open up that lc restaraunt/bakery! Just call it 'Tweakers'!

Off to lurk for a bit, then work...

Hey Ginny did you make that Taco Pizza. You have given me a great idea. That used to be one of my very favorite pizzas. I bet I can do that with the Deep Dish from the RR. All kinds of possiblties there.

My toms are not real nice this year for some reason. The skins are on the tough side and they have sun scald. I have canned about 12 quarts so far and would like to do more. They will keep going until late into Oct but they are not as good. I usually wait until close to frost to strip the plants and get all the fruit and put them in a paper bag to ripen in the house.

It's nice out that early. Just remember to open your eyes. Be careful on that trip to the airport. You will probably miss a lot of traffic going that early.

Hi Magnificient Ones!

Just getting here! Been at work all day chained to the phone! Oh well, its $$$$s for FLA. I am off tomorrow, going over to help DD finish off the last minute details, company arrives from England tomorrow night at 6p.m. Her pool was completed on her Birthday, her DH had been pushing the crew to get it completed and the water in. It looks gorgeous with the river rock, plants and flowers and the expensive garden furniture, she sure has expensive tastes, not like her Mom!

They had a few friends over last night and all went smoothly so she is not a stressed as she has been of late!

Roger, Awwwwwh, Sooooooo sorry that you are missing out on that "FREE" Beach house! Wishing YOU lots of Fun at home!
How is the fungi these days? Hope you managed to kill it off with that arsenal of Meds!

Julie, WOW, CONGRATS! GRANDMA!
What a fabulous pic, so clear, you look so fresh! DSIL took pics on Sunday evening and sent them to me in email, I downloaded them to AOL and dont know how to get them out to post here, so until I can, I will have to remain faceless. Thanks for your email, so true. I had read it before a while back, good to remind ourselves of this often!

Linda, glad you had a wonderful "date" and celebration of your 25th!

Loretta, I so envy you having all those Toms, even the green ones at the end ripening in the house. My Dad used to do that with his plants too. Is the heat that made the skins tough?

Shawnee and Jacki, so glad that you can have a "Spot of Lunch" together and a chat. How is Ms. PUP coping with the hot weather? Shawnnee no wonder you gave Curves a miss in those temps. Glad you are keeping it up. I will have to say, that Dr. Phil saying of yours, "It's my Time," to get me back into physical activity.

Ginny, hope you enjoyed your 16th Anniversay and that you were not working! Oliver is back to normal and so is his Mom. Still trying to treat that mite thing under his front legs, it must be a mange thing his fur is thinning out. I read that on a doggie BB. The vet keeps insisting this treatment will kick in soon!

Pam, hope you are getting some deck bathing done!

I"ll check later or tomorrow!
Have a Marvellous Evening!

Good evening everyone,

Oh Roger, it's a shame that you had to cancel your trip. Damned weather is just awful this year. Hopefully you and Bob can plan a trip in Sept. That is my favorite month to travel. Rates are lower and all the kids are back in school.

Julie, my sympathy to you and the family on your loss. Hopefully you will be able to go to the Resort for your anniversary too.
Post a link to it. We would all love to see where you will be staying.
Gosh you have your hands full with those kids, eh?

Loretta, my toms look rather "funny" but one is almost ripe. I may pick it tomorrow. I do love the green ones fried (batterless). Yumm. Can't wait for a few of them to get bigger.

Ginny, you are going to miss DR and his cooking a lot. Why on earth are flights usually scheduled so darn early? LOL sometimes I'm just getting to bed at 5 AM.

Shawnee, have you gotten any rain yet? How about the temps there? I see Glacier Park area got a few showers to help with the fires but I know you are on the other side of the Rockies.

Jackie, LOL Tweakers is a great name for a lc bakery. Go for it!!

Susan, there is a thread on Past Amazing posts here that explains how to get a picture up here. You have to download it to photo island first though.

Work was OK today except for one or two miserable patients. Tomorrow I got talked into an 8 hr. day to help with some afternoon and evening programs. LOL Darn money!! Maybe I'll start buying lottery tickets again.

Off to lurk.
