FRIDAY, AUGUST 1ST
Rise and Shine YOU Magnificient Ones!
I thought I'd get the thread up and running for the 1st day of August. We have rain up here today, off and on! I guess the grass and flowers need it. I think I'll take your advice, I am not going to do any more Prenatal Groups in the near future. I have been thinking along those lines anyway. Thanks for the consensus! Only one more class to go next week and that is it! Whew, relief!Sooooooo glad I have the day off. Off to do some errands, Walmart for Olivers Iams mini chunks, tylenol, blender for DDs birthday and possibly new slippers for me, and whatever I see.I also need to get out and buy some good pillows, and possibly new sheets, if the right price, but certainly need the pillows. I'll check back later when y'All are up and posting! ![]() |

Cooler today and overcast. Feels so good after those hot days. Now just wish it would rain.
Today I'm doing bills. Yuck. Then I have to pick my father up and take him to run errands. I did get a good boost to my day. I finally turned the little strips purple!!! Yayyy Yayyy for me. Induction for a week but FINALLY! Susan, don't ya love the feel of new sheets? Wish they weren't so spendy tho. I keep losing my pillow cases. Guess someone comes in when I'm not looking and just takes one of each matching set. hahaha When are you due? |

Hey everyone,
Normal Friday for us here. Errands are done for the day, critters all fed, 'chids all watered. Gonna be hot and humid at work today...there were t-storms this morning and now the sun is out. Is there such a thing as a 'sweaty smilie'? I need it today! Jacki, WTG on getting the sticks turning! How much more do you want to lose? Oh, and Susan isn't in the class, she's the instructor ![]() Susan, did the Wallyworld thing today already. Picked up a cute t-shirt for me, just 'cuz I liked it! Well, all, have a great day! Tomorrow is DH and my anniversary. Poor guy has been putting up with me for 16 years now, so send him your sympathies! LOL

Orchid Cactus Happy Anniversary to you and hubby. Roy and I will be married 28 years this December.
Hubby and I stared Atkins 3 years ago last month and it's done great for us. I'd like to get down to no lower than 150 but I'd be screaming happy with 20lb loss. I'm at 182 now. Have a good evening everyone. ![]() |

Hi all, Susan, glad you decided to quit the class. if you're not ahppy doing, then Why? Rain, what's that? We have cooled down to the 70's but still no rain. Maybe the end of next week though. Did ya find any pillows? They are so hard to pick out.
Ginny, me too on getting the orchids watered. With the 85 in the house this week, I had to water more often. Especially the small 3 in. pots. Congrats on your anniversary. DH and me will have our 40th on Aug. 10th. Can't believe it!!! JackiWa, Shawnee and I are both from Wa. I'm up by Seattle. So you are not maintaining yet? Guess I though you were. I also paid bills today and did a little housework. BAD word, Julie!! Took Bo in for his annual shots and then back to the dentist. Guess he can't do anything with my denture so will go get a 2nd opinion. He's not getting paid til they are right or new denture. Will not let him do it again though. Ran to the library and a freinds garage sale. I put about 65 cookbooks in it. Some had sold but not enough. Told her to lower the price, I didn't want all those low fat cookbooks back. LOL Later after the Mariner's game. Julie

Hi and Happy August 1st. Good thing I got here before it is over.
Just a busy day. Went out for lunch and visited the old bunch at the hospital where I worked. Interesting day and I enjoyed visiting with them all. But I am so happy to be RETIRED. Ginny Congrats on that 16th anniversary. Enjoy your day. Willl you be "doing up the town"? Probably not too much to do there in Manchester if it is anything like Benton. Dry county to boot. Gee Jackie Shawnee does an awful lot of baking. Did you know that sometimes she is looking for taste testers? Congrats on turning those strips purple. I never did bother with that. Last time I bought sheets I bought the higher thread count and boy what a difference. SSSOOOOOOOO soft. They were worth it. Julie 40 years for you and DH. That is quite a milestone too. Congrats ahead of time. Will you be doing a bunch of celebrating. Julie I gave a bunch of my low fat cookbooks away also. No need to even think about doing low fat strictly. I do try to watch some of my fats though. Probably guilt feelings making me do that. My last blood work was great since taking lecithin and vit b 5. Never ever had such good results with triglygerides at 33. No baby yet??? Glad that you are making your dentist make it right about those teeth. Dh has some partials that he does not wear and would put them in when he went to the dentist and then take them out again afterwards. They never did fit right. So the last time I told him just forget them and don't even bother wearing them to the dentist office. He would not leave them in. Susan I would guess that those pregnant gals have a lot more questions and problems than just your average person trying to quit smoking. There hormones or lack of hormones might get in the way too. Glad to hear that Oliver is better. Hi to Linda, Shawnee, Zip and Pam. Later, Loretta |

Boy it's been a busy day for me and now I'm waiting for DS2 to call and arrange to bring his pup here for us to watch for a day or so..
Ginny, Happy Anniversary to you and dh. Enjoy your day. Are you doing anything special? What's going on with Renee, aka Horse Trainer? I saw her post about a divorce and big problems with dh. Susan, yippie for you giving up those classes. If they aren't fun, don't do them. Jackie, I'm glad you are in ketosis. Did you fall off the low carb wagon? DH and I have been doing this for about 5 years and we have been maintaining for about 4. Loretta, I'm with you on the higher thread count sheets. They feel sooo good and last much longer. I would love to try some Egyptian Cotton but they are sooo pricy. Julie, wow 40 years. Good for you. Dh and I will celebrate our 25th on the 4 of this month. Do find a new dentist. I wouldn't pay or put up with that crap. Glad it cooled down for you and Shawnee. Will it last? Where is Roger today? I miss him when he doesn't post. Pam, how is your GD? More later |

Hi All,
I'm back, had a 'good haul" at Wallyword! No blender though! I was looking for a more hefty type. I got my pillows from a department store, called The Hudsons Bay Company, anyhoo, they were 50% off, $32.00 each for $15.00 plus 15% sales tax, so not too bad, they are semi-firm just how we like 'em! Couldn't find matching sheets, too difficult to sort out, fitted and flat, not much of a sale on those though. It might be better for me to wait till we come down to FLA in November and have a scout around for good quality ones then! I saw a blender at the department store a Cuisinart with the stainless steel base....$149.99 gotta think about that one!Loretta, yep the young 'ens do have lots of questions but tame enough to answer. It is the quality and quantity of info the City mandate me to cover in each 2 hour segment that is tough! Tobacco has its moments too, but I have been doing that for 7 years now, so know that like the back of my hand. There is more group therapy going on in the Tobacco groups than the Prenatal, so I prefer that. I'll bet it felt good going into the hospital were you used to work! Boy, I cant wait for that feeling! I have no idea when I will retire. I like the present concept of part time, taking my hols when I want them, so I am in control of the job, not them, works well most of the time! I think thats why I prefer facilitating groups more autonomous than a day in the office.Julie, yep I got the pillows and other goodies too! I'm glad that I am refusing more Prenatal Groups.....too much! HAPPY 16TH ANNIVERSARY GINNY! Hope you have a Good One! It is wonderfully important to mark the milestones! Our next one is not till January, its our 37th! Did I ever tell you that I was only 10 years old when we married LOL! Linda, what kind of Pup are you "fursittin?" Big or small, how old etc, etc... enquiring minds need to know! Hope it goes smoothly for you.Jacki, LOL! When am I due? Absolutely Lovely Darling! Quite understandable, you dont know us all yet, but you will, if ya stick around long enough and we hope you will. Great news on the purple sticks......burning it off today for sure! Where are Roger, Shawnee and Pam??Wondering!!!!! ![]() |

Hi Y'all
Taking a nose count, I see Zip and Pam are among the missing. ZIP, hope ya have your itch/rash under control. Pam, how's the DGBrat doing? Best wishes there! Been busy and kinda hectic, but mostly fun....the last few days. Temps down in low eighties, much more bearable! I made up for my laziness during those HOT days: cleaned house, went to Curves, and then mowed. Honest sweat is a GOOD thing I feel more human now. Thanks, Goddess, for wishing the cooler weather on us! It worked! ...I hate to be pushy, but could ya spare some rain also?? Hope your weekend is good, and you can forget the job for a couple days. Sorry you are losing your good buddy/ cook! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY..enjoy it big time! ![]() Sure was starting to miss the pics and recipes we usually fill the BB with..LOL..glad to see Montana's lil GrandPup, what a doll! (Loretta's Muffins were sure pretty too!)Montana, do you have a Plan "B" set up for your vacation? Those wildfires seem to have a mind of their own. We may be getting some Thunder/lightning in the NW in a few days, ...need any rain, but those lightning strikes could set off a whole new batch. Susan, great to know lil Oliver is all better. Hope you get to spend some of your new free time with DD and the Pups, strolling in the Park. Yes, my roses are hanging on pretty well...some are in the second or third flush. Lawn is BROWN! Loretta, geez, BUMMER re your Zucchini...Jacki has some of those wonderful Pan Patties squash I told y'all about last year...I'm gonna BEG a few out of her. By the way, she is a fantastic baker, and I get to try her new creations. Heheeheee, over 2 years back, I had been without bread or muffins for my first 4 months of LCing...Jacki created a muffin, brought some down...LORDY...I sniffed, succulated, savored, hated to swallow..I wanted it to last forever! ![]() How's the Tom canning going? Jacki, shall I rat ya out as a Tall (ex)Texan who grows pretty flowers? Tomorrow is the huge ANNUAL Garage Sale in a little section of town, I think 157 homes participating...the streets are blocked off, and ya shop tell ya drop! I take a wagon with me. Such a big deal, even porti potties and food vendors are there. Ffriends are coming up from OR to attend, as well as local relatives...They are gonna be here at my house at 7:30 AM, so I gotta get my butt out of bed at a decent hour. Lunch out afterwards, if we don't blow all our dough. LOLJulie, isn't it great to have "normal" temps back? Good luck with your dental problems. Have a CONTENT weekend, Y'all. Shawnee |

Julie, they have only had him for two weeks but he is a sweet little thing and so good. His name is Nicko.
As for the Quote, just click on quote in the post you want to quote and type your reply... You don't have to hit close all tags. It does it automatically.. Try it here as a practice. You can always delete it.... go to this one by me, click on quote and have at it. Oh Shawnee, I'm so very glad the temps got back to normal in your neck of the woods. You sure worked up a sweat with all the cleaning and mowing. It's been raining all day here so I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the hardwood floors in all but the two up stairs bedrooms. I'm pooped. No plan B. unfortunately. We still want to go to Montana and maybe will have to give up on Glacier... Just visit Missoula and then head for Yellowstone and the Tetons. LOL I read on Drudge last night that there is some "odd" activity and high temps going on in Yellowstone lake. You know the entire park is a huge volcano. Oh well, there is always Myrtle Beach or the Outer Banks.OMG that will be some huge sale. I wish I lived there so I could enjoy it with you. Is your company staying overnight? You have a really good time . |

Shawnee is going where some people are afraid to go (that would be me) hahaha That garage sale this weekend is something to behold!!! So many people and so many sales and you'd best be prepared to walk walk walk. I prefer my garage sales to be less stressful. Shawnee----YOU GO GIRL!!
Oh...and the sunburst patty pans are comeing on now. I'll share! She can rat me out as a Texan with tall flowers. But, her flowers and yard put mine to shame. I wish my yard looked like hers. Beautiful.Montana....what an adorable puppie!! I just want to sqeeze him! I fell off the wagon alright...partly with a good excuse--foot surgery which is healing nicely. Susan, good buy on your bedding! I need pillow cases. Can never find all my good ones. |
