THURSDAY, July 31

Julie,
Here's what happens to the TV. Whenever it's been unplugged or the power has failed for more than a couple seconds, it FORGETS its programming. When powered up the first time afterward it will do an autosearch of your cable system or antenna capable channels, one by one. There's nothing you can do til it works it's way up through 125 or so (sometimes 10 minutes), then it finds a TIME signal and adjusts the clock and turns the TV back to you.
When you unplugged it, it reset correctly and should be fine til unplugged again.
Probably the first timne it was trying to do that you kept interfering and it had to keep starting over again. I doubt that temperature had anything to do with it.

Linda, we're leaving as soon after 10 AM as we can get the car loaded, and unless we dawdle, should be past Boston before rush hour. <fingers crossed>

Cute show just started last week on COMEDY Channel Wed. nights (and repeated) called RENO 911...spoof of cop shows. Pam, it should be right up your alley!

Happy Thursday to everyone!

Good Morning Roger and All Our Magnificient Ones!

Wow, Roger seems like I just caught ya before ya packed up the car and left. Wishing you a safe journey, will ya sleep along the way or talk to each other lots? Get that "puter up and runnin asap, so we dont miss a day of your wonderful vacation.

I started this morning out with a good laugh kindly provided by Ginny. Thank you for that!

It looks like another wonderful Sunny day. I have today off, to prepare for the Class tonight, only one more week left. They asked me yesterday, at work, if I could start another next week. I said, that I want to think about it. I think I need a breathing space, maybe I'll pick up another one in September, along with the Tobacco groups, and the odd day a week in the office.

DH is planning our trip to FLA, so looking forward to 3 weeks down there in November/December.

BTW, did anyone catch the "SARSTOCK" 1/2 MILLION folks "Toronto Rocks" Concert last night. I saw the, "Guess Who" and the "Rolling Stones" performances, taped a little of it, as DH was working last night.

Have a great day everyone! Later gaters!

No Susan,

Not til Tuesday morning...Bob has his THING on Monday afternoon- Car all rented for 2 weeks!

Your winter trip to Florida sounds soooo nice.
As does Linda's to Montana (I think the fires aren't too big?)

Now I've come down with a furious case of Jock Rash (God forbid I tried on a bathing suit. In high school I was crippled by it for a couple weeks.
I really was meant to live life-NUDE! If I could do some nude sunbathing, NOTHING is a better antifungal....maybe up there??

Everything irritates me-furiously allergic to latex (the little band in underwear legs- NOPE, not for me.
ANyhoo, I've gathered together all my antifungals (you wouldn't BELIEVE my arsenal): Selsun, Tinver, lamasisl, clotrimazole, miconozole tincture, cream and ointment, caldesene powder, econozole cream, and zinc pyrithione!
I guess this is a rebound from the antibiotics and prednisone.

Hey gang,

Pretty much the usual morning here today. Nice and cooler temps with some light rain interspersed. Hope the clouds stay...if that sun comes out it will be a pressure cooker!

Zip, Tea Tree Oil is a wonderful natural anti fungal. Cinnamon is also an antifungal (excellent for orchids!) Hope it heals up quickly!

Shawnee, trying to get you some cooler temps...am I having any luck? Hope you and Pup can enjoy some outdoors time soon.

Loretta, have you gotten any of this cool down and rain? Usually you're a day ahead of us weatherwise. How are the 'maters doing? Lots of canning?

Linda, ugh on the BBQ stint. Can be hot, smoky work. I have to get brave and start using our gas grill since DR will be leaving Not too confident, but I may be able to bluff my way through it.

Julie, glad the tv is back to normal. Ours is just a regular 26" which is the largest size that will fit in our entertainment setup. It doesn't do strange things, and that's the way I like it!

Susan, so glad Oliver is back to normal! We used to throw a treat in the water to get our Sheltie to drink. Incentive! He was a very food oriented dog LOL

Jacki, tell us some about yourself. We want pics too!

Pam, hope your DGD is doing much better! Keep us posted as you can.

Off to lurk for a bit, then work. Thursdays is usually hell day, so hope they don't try to kill me tonight.

Hi gang, just poping in between cooking and doing some molly stuff.

Roger, It's going to be such fun for you and Bob. Are you taking the computer? We don't want to miss any of the fun you will be having.

Good heavens, get right on that "itch". And give up underwear. You don't need that irritating latex especially there

Fires aren't too bad???? Check this out. They are rather big and NASTY
http://missoulian.com/articles/2003/...ntanafires.txt

Susan, is Oliver all better? I sure hope so. We may be dog sitting for my son's new puppy tomorrow and Sat. We shall see.

Do take a break from the classes. You need the rest.

Ginny, You will do just fine with your gas grill. The worst part is turning the darn thing on. It scars the ***** out of me when it whooshes when first lit. Just turn it on, push the ignite button and stand back. LOL It's a lot easier and cooler than cooking in the house. We use ours all year long.

HOpe they don't kill you at work tonight.

Waving to Julie, Loretta, Shawnee and Jackie.

Pam, how is your GD? Hopefully she is doing better.

Off to change the beds.

WoW Roger that has got to be irritating to say the least. Hope you get a quick clear up. Reminds me of the poisen ivy I had about a year ago. I sympathasize (sp) with you whole heartedly. No advice to give.

Ginny we have canned 6 quarts of those toms so far and I will probably get at least another 6. We have had about 5 inches of rain in the past 48 hours. 2.8 last night alone. You will be missing your DR for a while. I had to readjust last week after my company left.

Susan I hope you will be able to say no to that class and take a break from it. Nice DH is planning that winter vacation for FLA. Hard to believe that tomorrow is Aug 1st already.

Linda is that propane gas grill you use. Our is but about the only thing I have patience for is the rib eyes. I have burnt some ribs on it and the pork chops were not too bad. I think it is a man's job. Too much other stuff going on in the kitchen at the same time and I find it aggravating to run out and check on the grill too.
WHINE WHINE

Shawnee that is blossom rot on my zucchini. My DS has it on her toms up in Ill. Sometimes cause by too much rain and lack of lime in the soil. Will lime again in the fall. I need to get out there with my Spray-n-grow. I have been neglecting it lately.

Julie is today the baby day? Just curious about your whereabouts or are you lunchiiing??? I have a lunch date tomorrow. That is 2 this week for me. No shopping tomorrow just lunch. Is the corn on the mend?? Hope so.

Pam hope all is well there.
Hi to Jackie.

Loretta

Zip, but why was the TV not working in the first place. It wouldn't do anything. All the controls just froze.

Susan, going to Florida in the winter sounds great. Something to look forward to. Did you get my email? How's Oliver?

Ginny, I love Tree Tree Oil. Good to know about cinnamon for the orchids. Just sprinkle it around the dirt?

Linda, you really do a lot of cooking and housework. Do you like to or just feel guilty if you don't?

Loretta, baby day was last Sunday!!! Not showing his little head yet!! Corn is much better, thank you. Lunch date, huh? Are you taking over for me? LOL I was not showing today as I needed to get my head on straight. Ok tonight. Not sure what the problem was.

Hi to Pam, hope your little DGD is doing better.
Hi to Jacki, wherever you are!! Come on in!!!
Hi to Shawnee, cooled off for us, so you should be happier. I am!!

Old Folks Opera???? Sheesh......that sound bad!!! hahahaha

Ya, it was comfortable here yesterday. I just wish it would rain. It's so dry and there are logging restrictions due to the fire danger. (my hubby is a log truck driver and our bread and butter is on the line with this dry summer) So, I want rain!! I'm tired of watering all my flowers too.

Speaking of tea tree oil...I have some that I'm trying on my toenails. Anyone ever use it for that. They say it works. Sure is stinky tho.
