MONDAY, Last of July
Hi everybody and a warm hello (everthing is warm this Summer),
A lazy day yesterday. Too hot to do much. Today is SUPPOSED to the end of the heat wave- I HOPE. I'm toying with having Bob get me a ticket for HENRY V in Central Park tomorrow ( free tickets but a long wait in line for 2 hours but seniors get preference- and he's doing it with or without me). It stars Liev Schreiber ( a wonderful actor) but I have so often sworn off Shakespeare.....TORN, TORN. I'ts really beautiful to sit in the beautiful old Delacorte Theater under the stars. (And the weather is supposed to be delightful....I can wear two unfurled flypapers as earrings to catch mosquitos!)....BUT MORE Shakespeare....last year they did Chekhov's THE SEAGULL with Meryl Streep (wonderful) , John Goodman, and Meryl's son... but since it's called THE NEW YORK SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, guess who's done most often . (Hint BLAH,BLAH,BLAH, forsooth BLAH BLAH!)It's so great because the set was a stage with a road leading to a lake....of couse there is a REAL lake and a REAL path to it! The Delacorte is 3/4 round amphitheater with 1/4 open into the woods. You can have armies realistically riding in on horseback.(I guess I'm talking myself into going... we only live once.) Julie, Too bad about that recent payment to Norton. They even offered the same deal in MAY and that would have been ideal for you. Why not call Norton and see if the'yd extend the UPDATE SUBSCRIPTION by the 9 or 10 months you still have credit for? Bob's been stealing day lily shoots from the garden....amazing, they bloom on the table for about 10 days just like they're in the garden: the one-a day plan- quite lovely. Ginny, Why do I want to save one node on the main stem? Is it to prevent rot from going into the crown, or is that node supposed to parent the new stem. I'd prefer a whole new stem if possible? Well, off to the coffee pot for the first cup. Delicious Silverbrite Salmon last night ($2.99/lb at ShopRite. They've also just come out with a Creamed Spinach which comes in a 9 ounce bag and is delicious (add a 1/2 cup milk). It was on sale at $.33 and I meant to try it last week and buy a zillion if good- I forgot, now the sale's over! "I would like to be PROUST, Or the Marquis de SADE, I would like to be Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, But not have to believe in God! I would like the universe to get down on its knees, And say Guido, whatever you please, Especially, if it's IMPOSSIBLE, We'll arrange it. So ARRANGE IT! That's all that I ask" .......................NINE!

Hi to all
Susan I sure hope you get Oliver to the vet and have him checked out. Had he been out in the heat very long and playing hard? Sounds like some other problem to me. Glad that the electrolyte solution helped him to snap out of it. So hard to figure out what is bothering the little critters. Ginny glad you just lazed around. We all need to do that and even more so for the employed workers in our group. I remember what that was like. Linda hope the moms dinner was another enjoyable event. That is great that you all can do that on a regular basis. Don't blame you for not wanting to cut that corian counter top. Shawnee I think I want a flexible muffin pan too and a muffin top pan also. Why not? I hope the store we are going to tomorrow has something I can buy. Zip yes do go to that NEW YORK SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL. The outside setting will sure make a nice difference. LOL on the fly strips on the ears. Be sure to spray yourself for mosquitoes before you go. Going into the city today to pick up my repaired embroidery machine. It broke a week or so ago and it is fixed and ready to come home. Also will stop at Krogers for flaxseed meal if they have it. I did find some Vital Wheat Gluten there a while back. Good price too. Later, Loretta |

Hi gang,
Roger, sometimes I don't know what you're talking about!! LOL The Shakespear festival sounds wonderful. We have a little local outdoor theater here and it's so much fun to go sit under the stars. We go usually once a year. Indoor local theater the rest of the year. Will check into the Norton. The guy at Staples said they have that special on every now and then. so if you see the 2004 special, let me know in case I miss it. Loretta, I have a micro muffin pan and a bundt pan but haven't used them in years. Think today I'll try to make my flax muffins in the micro though. Going to be hot today and over 90 tomorrow. Wheww...not going to last thank God. Will cool again to low 80's and maybe 70's by weeks end. I couldn't find a chair that I fell in love with. I spend so much time in it, it has to be just right. Short seat as I'm so short. Want my knees to be able to bend. LOL And feet flat on floor. Lunbar is the biggest requirement. Will continue to look. Having lunch with friends today. Doing some running around doing errands. Can't believe that baby is still not born yet. Later...Julie

Hello everyone,
Roger, yes do go to the Shakespeare festival. A little of that goes a long way but being outside in the wonderful weather on a nice evening is well worth it. LOL Fly strips?? Wouldn't you look CUTE! Loved NINE!! Bravo, I can just see you standing there saying that. Loretta, dinner went well. Good luck finding the flax meal but if you can't find it, go to Bob's Red Mill site on line and order it there. It's very reasonable. Darn grocery store of ours raised the price of it again. It started out at $1.99 for a 1 lb bag and is now at $2.69 GRRRR. Julie, It's difficult to find chairs for us short people although I did find an adjustable one at Office Max. Love it.! Have a great lunch. Good Lord!! that poor girl. She really needs to have that baby NOW. Shawnee, have you ordered from that place? I hate to put my credit card out there. Susan, how is Oliver? Poor baby. I sincerely hope he is ok. Ginny and Pam, what are you up to? It's a delightful 70 degree day and DRY! Had to do some banking and thought about some retail therapy but decided against it. I'm just going to sit on the deck and read. Back after dinner. |

I did find the milled flaxseed meal and it was 1.59 for 12 ounces. I bought the last 2 on the shelf. I will be going to the health food store next week but it will probably be higher there. I am going to check.
There is a Kitchen Collection store at the mall we are going to tomorrow. I searched that out on the web. Glory, glory. Julie you will find that chair eventually. Let us know how the muffins turn out in the nuker. Someone can send us some rain, please. We are so dry that the grass is cracking when you step on it. Later, Loretta Edited to add. We got the rain, thanks. It has been coming down in buckets. Linda I make the deep dish pizza with the 15xll crust. I made the crust yesterday and the pizza tonight. It was the best and the effect of holding that pizza in my hand was awesome. The crust was just perfect, thin the way I like it. Even put some fresh tomatoes on it. I will have plenty of left overs.
