LOL Ginny, you are busy. Slow down and take time to smell the coffee.
I think Roger was starting a thread for today but accidentally put it on yesterday's. Roger you got up too early. So is everything all set for your trip to the coast? There is so much to see in and around Boston. I envy you. Loretta, Hopefully that company isn't wearing you out. Did you have to give up your nest? I saw on the golden that your DS is staying with the new DIL. (Hope I got that right)What a relief that must be. Shawnee,Where did you get your microwave safe muffin tins? I haven't seen them at wally world but didn't really look hard... When is Julie coming back? Susan, you did a great job on that speach. Do you only do it once a month? Hey Pam, where the heck are you? I'm running here to get some things done but will return later. Linda |

Hi Guys
It has been a gorgeous day up here today. Went to the Arboretum - Park with DD and the two dogs agin! It was wonderful sitting in the shade of the big trees with a slight breeze coming off the river. We were serenaded today with a brass band practicing. It was wonderful.! These truly are, the dogs days of summer! Gotta savour these, cuz nothing like this in January and February, unless we sneak off to Florida agin! Roger, Glad to hear that you can get those Curry Sauces and Pastes down there! He buys freshed baked samosas from an Indian grocery store, they are Soooooo fresh, he warms them lightly in the oven and serves with a hot mint yogurty sauce for dippin! I haven't seen the other brand but I will look out for it.Have ya started packing yet for your Vacation? Sorry ya got the early mornin wakenings! Our WOL Side Effect! Linda, Yes, I do a speech about once a month and other small ones weekly. I have one of those muffin pans in a kind of plastic material for muffins also doubles for poached eggs in the nuker. I have never made muffins in it yet! It is made from the same material that we used to nuke bacon, like a beige colour. Probably WM will have them. Have ya heard of those Cans of Curry in your area? Did you make any with the curry you had standing by????Ginny, Wow, I blinked and missed ya! Waving to you back! Loretta, "Come up for Air!" Shawnee, Are ya in the garden sitting in the shade? Not sure what kind of weather you are having. We are expecting rain off and on, for the next four days. DD not too happy as they are having a pool put in. They cant work in the rain! She wants it completed by August 3rd. Pathways have to dry, some special bomanite poured, then they cut it into a pattern, then seal it.Waving to Pam, Ms. Curves and Dock Bather! Thoughts are with Julie, was the funeral today? I'll sign off for now. Had a wonderful day, no work or speeches today! ![]() |

Hi
I am catching my breath here. DSs have both headed back to Ill today. I had lunch with my oldest before he hit the road. DSD and her husband have gone to stay the night at another DSD in the city. Still do not know about the other DSD who (we all thought) would be here on Sunday. We called their home and talked with a DS who was not too much help. No news is good news. No bad news from him at any rate. My nest is not invaded yet, in fact I have not had to resort to using it since that other DSD has not shown up as yet. Zip when do you leave for the vacation de jour? Sounds idealistic. I think I am going to need one soon. This night off sure feels good so far. Hope you are sleeping better soon. Ginny LOL I like your post today: Runs in, starts thread, waves at all, runs out* Thanks for the high 5. Yes Linda that was right. DS was there with the new DIL and had a nice visit too with his new step niece. I am happy that they could all get together also. My other son was there also. Did not get to see too much of him. But he needs time to be with his new family. Linda do you make your custard in the microwave? I think we can do that. My mw book has a recipe for a type of custard they cook at 50% for about 7 min. I want to try that instead of heating up the house using the ove. Going to bed early and enjoy my free evening tonight. Later Loretta |

Your're right Linda...LOL. I MUST stop getting up at 4 AM. Today I'll try a long midnight walk.
Anyhoo, cut and paste: Tuesday, July 15...THE IDES Good morning friends, Up at 4:15 AM again. Why does this ALWAYS happen when I go into calorie control mode????? Like clockwork! I've given up fighting it and try my best to use the time productively. Susan, you keep yourself busy, good girl. One of theses days they next virus will destry half the population of the planet ("not with a bang but a whimper")...mark my words. My feeling will be it will be something that escapes from Fort Detrick, Maryland. I buy the PATAK curry pastes all the time...Vindaloo my fave for a spice curry base- NEVER use that horrid yellow powder jokingly called Curry Powder in the USA unless all you want is to color some rive yellow. A very similar product is the LAXMI line of curry pastes. Ohhh, I'm gonna miss that Foodmart International! Found government I bonds to dunk some money into. Currently over 4% with no committment beyond 6 months. Trouble is the law says $30,000/year is tops but I can at least start some of these checks from closed CD's earning a little something. Off to the kitchen and the EMPTY coffee pot waiting for a little "lovin" And YES, I MUST go to Modell's and get some SPEEDOS! Roger __________________ Getting all ducks in a row for trip/trips. New England Trying to arrange to see a couple Victorian homes in Allentown and visit sister and then show Bob around his potential new "hometown." We'll do a motel in A'town- I'm too old to cater to sister's schedule. Yep, packing and making lists....there's one bike there and we'll drag one up. The house is a 3 bedroom

Miso Protects Against Breast Cancer; Glycemic Load Doesn't Affect CRC Risk
In prospective cohort studies, other common forms of soy did not reduce breast cancer risk; in a separate study, diets high in glycemic load, carbohydrates, or sugar were not associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Medscape Medical News 2003 Hi Guys, I tried to copy and paste the above research article. NOt sure if the url will show up! Glad to see Roger re-posting! Have ya tried calcium at bedtime to relax you. It works by relaxing "all muscle tissue" so we feel relax physically then we can work on the mental bit. Works for me! Till Tomorrow! ![]() |

Roger, I can't find Patak curry paste here but did find a nice tasting one at an oriental market here. It's a lot different than the powdered crap sold in the local grocery store.
Victorian homes are lovely and just heard on the news that NEXT year, Pa. real estate taxes may go down. They are going to put in slot machines to help pay for education. How cool is that? Maybe we will check out some property in PA which is only about 3 miles from here.3 bed rooms will do if we all double up. So what time should we be there?Loretta, Glad you still have your nest. You sure need to have some excape from the invasion of relatives. You live in a lovely area but people just expect to spend their vacations with you. Bummer. Yes I make it in the microwave. Sometimes it's more like sweetened scrambled eggs . I may try that 50% power though. Thanks for the tip. I did use Dexmis's recipe that said cook at full power till the center was set. Susan, your river park sounds fantastic!! How is the crime rate there? We have two rivers here and they are trying to develope the river banks into a recreational area. LOL everyone here thinks it will be just perfect for prostitutes and drug dealers. We do have one nice county park on the Chenango River that is fairly safe. Only one rape and assault last year. I'll check again at Wally world for those muffin tins when I have some time. Shawnee, where are ya girl?? We get worried when one of our magnificant ones doesn't check in. Hope you are having a fun day. I may get my butt to bed early for a change ( early for me that is) I'm really, really pooped. Last edited by LoveMontana : 07-15-2003 at 11:03 PM. |

Hi Y'all
Susan, do I envy your pleasant day, relaxing in the shade. Sounds devine. I did take breaks in the shade, but was working on a major clean up of an overgrown area. Oh, well...honest work and sweat are good for me...LOL ![]() Thanks, I didn't know about the Calcium/ relaxation connection. I do take my Calcium at night, because I take Armour for Thyroid in the AM, and they are supposed to be separate by 6 hours, to avoid interference...Hope your DD gets the Pool completed in a timely manner, so it can be enjoyed before the cold weather returns. Ginny, how is Tyke doing? Certainly hope she is mending well. How's the Bloomers in the GH ? Tomorrow is Julie's return date...I'm sure she will be tired, from that long drive and the emotional reasons for it. Sure hope her housesitter took good care of her Toms and pup. ![]() Loretta, your ounce of prevention paid off; NOT needing that Nest cause you were prepared! Glad you got to enjoy your time with DSs.Montana, I don't have Nuker muffin pans...can't find any in the usual suspect places either. I use a square Pyrex, and cut them into bars. Another thing that works ( just tried it the other day) LOL..I have some 1/2 Cup size round Glad food containers...work perfect for muffins. ZIP...you've really put some thought into those vacation plans. Now stay well, and carry them thru! I think you are smart to get a room, then visit your Sis. Tink, how goes it with you? Hope to see ya Post soon. Shawnee |

I'm hiding in the office. There was a gargantuous june bug flying around in the kitchen area. DH said he'd got it. Well, it must have a cousin, because the thing was zooming around. EEK!
Linda--I must be the last one awake, here on the west side. My BIL lives in Bloomsberg, PA. He goes to Atlantic City for gambling. Susan--Your day sounded ideal. How relaxing! Loretta--So nice you were able to get a window of some free time. It's great to have our families visit, but pretty darned tiring. Zip--Your upcoming trip sounds fabulous! It will be so good for you to get away to a bit of Shangrala (sp???). Yes, we can all bunk in. Heck, I'll sleep in a sleeping bag. Driving instructions from Calif? Shawnee--Shoot. I didn't know thyroid meds weren't to be taken with Calcium! Starting tomorrw, that will change for me. Ginny--Hi! Julie--Hope your return home is a safe one.
