Happy Sunday July 13

Just want to check in here with you all before the co starts.
My mouse is just fine and I'm am so happy to have that problem solved. Thanks again Zip, the PC answer guy. They are on sale this week at one of the office stores for about $10. But a little lighter fluid costs a lot less. I am SO happy to have my mouse back.

Some mix up here with communication. The one DSD has not arrived at all and no call. I think DH got it mixed up or some such. But my DS will be here for dinner and the other DSD from Texas will be here later towards evening, that I can count on (if the Lord"s willing and the Creek don't rise"..

Will check back later today, if time allows.

Loretta

Hello!

Thank YOU Loretta for the Happy Sunday. We are all thinking of you and your company! Keep ya chin up!

Scattered clouds, hot and sunny up here today. I have been weeding cuz I always find it easier just after a couple of days of rain to pull those things out. Bin hoeing, then sifting thru the dirt to get rid of the offending weeds. Thoughts of Shawnee, "playin in the dirt," was so relaxing and such a diversion from reading work stuff! Brain in neutral picking tiny sprigs of green!

We had a wonderful dinner at DD's last night. DSIL has perfected Indian Cuisine. We had tender beef curries a mild one, a madras one, chicken takiki sp? and a perfectly lean, tender Lamb gnochi sp? basmatti fine delicate rice with saffron and other spices, just a little rice for me, chicken somosas, with mint and yogurt sauce,
a delicate roti type nan. I tore a small fragment off for dipping. It was fabulous. I slept like a baby, after ingesting a few carbs. Felt well rested this morning! I dont do it too often!

We played a "new to me" Card game last night. Cribbage, DD loves to play cards! DH was teaching us. He enjoyed himself.

Off to pick up a few groceries!

Waving to Ya"all
Hope to be back later!

Good evening Loretta, Susan and everybody,

Loretta,
SOrry you are missing a DSD today. Misplacing relatives can be so annoying. I'm glad the lighter fluid worked though it wouldn't have been my solvent of choice because it MIGHT melt certain kinds of plastic. Alcohol is usually safer, although I took my WONDERFUL butter soft fitted earplugs that were made for me in the 60's while I was a supervisor at Beth Steel and soaked them in alcohol only this year to clean them well. They turned to STONE-I could have cried . Perhaps I should have used lighter fluid. LOLOL

Neighbor just gave me an OPTICAL- SCROLL- MOUSE. I'm looking forward to setting it up (no need for a mouse pad- no bottom ball).

Susan,
That home cooked Indian dinner sounds really WONDERFUL. I've never had any but restaurant meals....but I have a choice of hundreds of them! Someday I'll schmooze an Indian family into a dinner!

A lovely day today. We went to Chinatown and had a nice meal and a very long walk in town in lower Manhattan where we've really rarely gone much since 9/11/2001. It's never handy because the PATH train connection between Southern Manhattan and Jersey City had it's station in the WTC- NO MORE, but they are promising a rebuild within a year!

The day was a dry sunny 80.....PERFECT!

Home and a nap- YUMMY.
Puter just took a call from a guy with a Fire Island rental available. If the price is right we'll take a week at the beach. We both need a vacation!

Roger

DSD still missing. But we had and enjoyable dinner with 2 DSs and DDIL. That was a nice surprise. Even got a game of scrabble in with my oldest DS. I won, not nice to do to the company. It was a close game.

Let me know if you like that optical mouse? Is it cordless too?
I have been using the lighter fluid on the other parts of my mouse without any problem.

Loretta, All that talk of cleaning the mouse has me getting a bit concerned. I haven't done it yet, so it's time to look into it.

Glad things seem to be going ok with the company so far. Hopefully your missing DSD will show up soon.

Roger, oh how nice!! An optical mouse??? I saw some at Staples and wondered how they work. Let us know how you like it. BTW I play with the feature on mine that you talked about yesterday. It's a nice way to slowly scroll through long articles with out doing anything.

Oh how wonderful that you may have a chance of a nice vacation on Fire Island. Keep us posted and post some pictures. God, I NEED to get away and think you need to also..

Glad you got to Manhattan and enjoyed the delightful weather. I still can't bring myself to go there.

Susan, recipes, recipes, recipes PLEASE!! unless they are a secret. Gosh that dinner must have been wonderful.

Shawnee, we want to hear all about the festivals. Hope you had a wonderful time. Bet pup missed you though.

Julie, hope you have a safe trip.

Ginny, what were you up to today? Your kitchen looks great so far. Bet you can't wait till it's done.

Yo Pam, what's up with you?

Reservations made for the same motel we stayed in while in Missoula during 9/11. Drat, the other one is booked with students during Sept. Hopefully it won't be too uncomfortable with bad memories.
Delightful weather here but it didn't get out of the 70's.. That's fine with me since my comfort zone is 68 to 72.
Moms and youngest son were here for dinner. LOL I even had my 79 year old mom on this computer looking at that U of M web cam. She had fun. I must teach her to use the thing.

More later if I can stay awake.
