Good morning maintainers,

Ohhh, the cool weather is such a delight after a month of braising heat and humidity. Big Fan in Bedroom pushing lovely air through at 70°...high today expected:76°!

Tonight, cheap tickets to THE EDGE, a study about the stormy relationship betweeen Sylvia Plath, the poetess, and her husband culminating in her suicide a couple decades ago. An interesting relationship. An easy commute too.

We'll eat at home- dinners out more than twice a week MANGLE a budget. I bought a big beautiful bottom round roast ($.99/lb) at ShopRite earlier in the week (can you believe that price). I'll cube it up and crock pot about half of it and toss mushrooms and sour cream in near end for a nice stroganoff over Pennsy Dutch noodles. Boy, did I EVER miss that dish the first year of "noodleless Atkins."
Early next week the rest of the cubes will be a beef stew.

Bob got some beautiful garden zucchinis at a greenmarket in town for $.25 a piece- they look GREAT. It's my "summer verg" of choice, stir fried in olive oil and lots of garlic with a little toss of kosher salt.
Feeling much better with all the toxins (drugs) slowly getting out of my system...maybe the tinnitus is abating a teeny teeny bit (waybe wishful thinking).

Julie,
It sounds like your DBIL won't be long now. Condolences to you and hubby. God bless coma at the end- I think that we might spend some good mental time there, getting ready for the BIG MOVE! I saw it in my mother. She was somewhere where Timothy Leary spent years trying to get to.

Linda,
LOL on Weston!

Be well all.

Mornin' y'all,

Still staying busy here, but that's ok. It has warmed up quick, and summer is here to stay it looks like. Makes it a bit hot at work, so drinking lots of water. Thanks everyone for the pics!

Zip, glad the body is recovering! Now just take it easy, rest a lot and don't go into another freezer! LOL on the 501's. BTW, today is Thursday

Julie, hope DBIL's passing is calm for him. Yes, many will perk up for a day or 2 before they go. Hugs to you and yours! Your poor DDIL and all that swelling...never been there, and probably a good thing I didn't--I get ornery when I feel bad!

Susan, yes, do some reading for FUN! Big Girl is my mare, Torchy, and lead line work is with just a halter and lead on her and me on the ground. I have to make her listen to me while I'm down there before she'll listen while I'm on her back. Since she weighs somewhere in the 1100 lb range, I need as much of an advantage as I can get! A horse that ignores it's rider is NOT safe, and I want both of us to come out of this alive! LOL

Shawnee, good for you keeping with the Curves! I know my little exercise regime (such as it is) can be more of a mental thing. Is DGB feeling back to normal?

Linda, on the bear! Sure glad we don't have them around here! I can just imagine how all the critters would react to an invader like that *shudder*

Loretta, kick back and just enjoy the company--they'll leave soon enough and all will be back to normal. Don't work too hard!

Pam, great to see you posting! Good for you, too, on the Curves! Taking time for yourself like that is wonderful!

Well, I better get my butt moving...

Hi gang,

Roger, glad the meds are getting out of your system. They cause so many side effects. It's my sincere belief that the drug companies want us sick and on meds. Side effects, "here take this drug to get rid of them". That's how they make money.

Great price on the roast Wow. I LOVE stroganoff but I won't eat noodles.

Ginny, My brother's two labs are quite frightened of the critters. SIL was walking one up the road last year and the dog came to a screaching halt. There was a bear wandering in the ditch not too far from them.

Exercise is something I don't much like but do what I can.
Is Torchy getting listening to you?

Pam, thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Loretta, When is your company coming? Listen to everyone and let them do some of the work.

Shawnee, Glad you are enjoying Curves. I pass the place every day and just don't make myself go in.

Waving to Susan.

Delightful cool, cloudy day here. I don't think it got to 70. This I can take.

More later.
edited to add this.

A quick run through here. DBIL is slowly getting weaker but guess his coloring is good. Took some of my roses down to DDIL as she was kind a down. Other than that have been staying close to the phone. Tomorrow I get my hair cut and a quick lunch. Only one this week, Linda. LOL

A late hi and almost good night here.

A busy day running after more supplies for the group. I think our first guests arrive Sat sometime. The next group will be here SUnday, DS in the afternoon sometime and DSD very late evening. Need to do some house cleaning tomorrow.

Went to a Wedding shower today for DDIL at the hospital where I used to work. It was a quick but very nice shower. They gave some very nice presents.
Had to run after our beef too today. Searching for Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi since our local WM does not seem to carry it any more. That gets my goat.

Julie that was nice of you to take DDIL the roses.

Linda geesh be careful with those bears so close. I saw a deer the other day and she even wagged her tail after I spoke to her before she ran off.

Catch up with you all tomorrow

Loretta

Humm, this is interesting. Oh Roger, I'm ducking and running, please don't hit me. I didn't see Price mentioned though. Don't read it though. I want to stay friends.

Just wanted to let you know that my brother in law just passed away peacefully. It has been a long vigil for my sister and her 11 kids. They don't know when the funeral will be yet but I'll let you know. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts. I really appreciate it. Julie

Hi Y'all

Sunshine, Lolipops and Roses... ...well, maybe NO Lolipops, but I did make a choc Nuker cake A day made to order for flower freaks, a nice breeze reduced the ninties to the eighties...Life is good when the mower starts on the first try, an Eagle circles overhead, and there's only good stuff in the mailbox

ZIP, good to see you all high spirited and happy Re the 501's, my Bob has no butt at all, but they work for him The REAL cow wranglers in these parts wear Wranglers, wouldn't be caught stomped, dragged, drunk or dead in Levis...LOL

Montana, you CAN have those noodles, just make them from Loretta's Cabbage, or ZIP's zucchini My next Cabbage ones will be made from a more delicate variety, Chinese or Savoy.

Your bro's Pups are smart to beware of bears; even trained bear dogs can be slit from stem to stern with one swipe. We have them around too, but its the Cougars that seem to be more on the prowl now.

Pam, you are really getting in the exercize; GOOD for you! My DGBrat and I meet at Curves 3x weekly. I "try" to keep up with her...LOL...but she can do Backbends and Splits, so "try" is all I can do. Saw your post on wanting to create a dress; if its Traditional Native, its called "regalia"....here's a pic of my DD's friend. Too bad the details on the doeskin aren't clear.

Ginny, you're right, it takes a lot of mental work to convince the body "its a GOOD thing" when its so easy to procrastinate. How's Big Girl liking her work outs? Sure takes a lot of time and patience, huh? BTW, heard that Mustang is coming along pretty well.

Susan, busy gal...hope you are having some fun mixed in with that work.

Loretta, sounds like a mini-Family Reunion in the works You are sure getting a lot of Prep work done in advance, laying in supplies. Hope its your best-ever Get-Together

Julie, bet your DDIL really appreciated your thoughtfulness. Those last weeks of pregnancy sure seem to drag by.
EDITED to say, JULIE..just read your last post. (((((HUGS )))) to you and all your Family.

Last again. It's actually Friday morning now since it's after midnight. Today-Curves, dancing to the DMX oldies on the trampoline, water walking in the lake. The water was uncharacteristically warm today. If it is the same tomorrow, swimming will be on the agenda. I collected more beautiful feathers, this time teeny small ones. While walking in the water, a momma duck and 4 ducklings cruised by.
Zip--You had me confused there by what day it is. But half the time I don't know what day it is. That zucchine recipe sounds pretty darned good!
Ginny--Is it humid in your part of the country? Stay hydrated!
Loretta--You sure have some busy days going, but it will be nice to have everyone there.
Linda--The weather your way sounds great! Would you believe I look forward to going to the Curves workout? It's the first workout facility that is fun, and not intimidating.
Julie--My deepest condolances to you and yours. Going peacefully is so good. He is no longer suffering.
Shawnee--Thank you so much for the description in word and picture of the dress! I've had a heckofa time finding anything on line. Did buy a bunch of suede material, and now just need someone to make it for me. Wow, your DGbrat is flexible!
Susan--Are you getting the reading done? Hopefully, you can enjoy the great outdoors with your nice weather.
