Hi Maintainers.
Julie I love the picture of your lobiela on the walkway. It is just beautiful. I was not able to find that plant around here this spring. I tried several places even in the city. Must be more a local to you plant. How many flats was that, 100 plants. Did you get some help with that? Shawnee sounds like about my trick to run out of checks. Although I have cut down on a bunch by having some bills withdrawn directly from the account. I use the Quicken program and print my checks out, most of the regulars. One time I had a little hand held check printer. I forget now who made that. IT was pretty nifty. You put your regular check in and then enter the info and it would print it right there in the store. I dropped it though and broke it. They must have stopped making it.Glad you are happy with your 501 Levi's. WTG looking like a teeny popper and dropping a few years. Got another ripe tom today and my cukes have blossoms as do my zucchini. The toms are just medium in size but there are tons of them out there. Hope I get to can a lot. Zip hope the fumes did not get you last night. Are you doctoring today? You should be at the end of your bout soon and sprouting some excellent hearing and good health. Linda thanks for that interesting read on the cholesterol and the drugs. I really think that the total cholestol number is meaning less. I see now they are selling a gizmo to check you tc for about $99. Wonder how many people will go for that. Hope you are off today and enjoying the weather. Julie hope that corn has quit bothering you. You will have some busy days coming up with your DS situation and your DD delivery. How is your other DD doing that recently moved to a new place? I need to be getting ready for company and make sure the extra room is ready. Not sure where they will all sleep. DH called his baby daughter last night and told her to "Come on Down" too. It sure will be interesting. Later, Loretta Last edited by Loretta V : 07-09-2003 at 11:37 AM. |

Hey gang,
Popping in today just to say hey quickly. Been working with Big Girl on the lead line to get her attention better. Tyke is doing fine. She lets us clean her ear, even though she doesn't really want us to fool with it. Poor baby has to be a little sore. Hope all y'all are doing well today, will try to check back in later... |

Hi to All YOU Magnificient Maintainers!
Another gorgeous day up here today. I have been procrastinating, lots of reading agin to get through! Awwwww! Ginny, that poor baby, letting you mess with her ear. She knows who to trust! Does she have a special treat after? Or just some extra attention from Mommy? What is Big Girl lead line stuff. Is that fork lift talk???? Loretta, Yes, those flowers around the edging on Julies pathway are gorgeous, no wonder you tried to get them. Yours are wonderful too! My peonies are over now, and the Lillies are starting to flower, they are quite tall this year. I have a bright orange one in bloom right now, I have white, pink, red and yellow to come yet. Sounds like you are having a houseful, enjoy them. I am still waiting for the family to multiply! Shawnne, what is this about 501 Levi's. Do they make then for the short legged person? I am only 5'1", so I always have to buy petites, so they look right. Smell your David Austins for me today. I must confess I do not have a single rose bush. DD has two, red ones! They are in bloom right now too! Waving to ya'all, gotta get back to some reading! Hope to check back this evening! ![]() |

Hi all,
Roger where are you? Hope you are doing better. Maybe you moved out for awhile til those awful fumes disappear. Loretta, My DH planted them this year. I wasn't up to it and said I wasn't going to plant them again. So he did!! Nice huh? They come in pkg of 4 or 6. Can't remember how many but enough to make 100. It's my DDIL who is having the baby on Monday. DD is doing ok. She went and bought another car yesterday to get her payments lower. I try and not ask how things are going. Best if I don't know. She was out with us camping and stayed in our camper as she has so many allergies. So she and the 2 girls were in the campier with us. Crowded but fun. We got along fine. My DBIL has had a slight rally. Is this typical of someone about to die? Anybody know. He is taking a sip or two of water to get his pills down. He is in so much pain. It would be a blessing for him to go quickly. Shawnee, I can't believe you got into 501's. I would hate those darn buttons. Bet you look preppy!! LOL Hey, if you can wear them and your DGD thinks you look good, then go for it!! Ginny, awwww poor pup. I bet she DOESN'T like you fooling around her ear. I know she gets treats afterwards though. Susan, I have always worn petites but when I went looking for jeans a few weeks ago, I had to get misses and take the hem up. ugghhhhh!! I don't know why but the crotch is just too short for me know. I'm 5'2" or now probably 5' 1." Go figure. Darn designers!! Cleaned out my cookbooks today. Threw out 67 of them. unfortuantely I still have over 100 left. About 50 or 60 are those small ones you buy at the supermarket. Thought I could get rid of more but hey, a little at a time. Need to get out and water some more. Chuck has it fixed so the sprinkler system waters all through tubes but don't think it's quite enough when it's hot out. Be back later, Julie

Hi Y'all
Gorgeous day here, getting on towards hot. I watered the Potted plants early and enjoyed checking for new growth...and veggies. Gonna go to Curves soon. Some days I feel saggy as a marshmellow, others I feel more toned...whatever, I'm committed for the next 11 months, and it can't do anything but HELP me...LOL I know my thigh muscles are stronger. Julie, that Lobelia is gorgeous Such a nice, friendly lil plant...and low maintenance. Yes, I think the term is "bloom" for persons who perk up a tad before they pass.Susan, the 501s are men's Levis...the beauty of them is, you buy them according to (lower) waist and inseam size. They ride a few inches below the natural waistline...but are NOT as low as those HipHugger or LowRider pants. So your size might be like 30 x 28. Just read where some HIP younger guys are now wearing Women's jeans, cause the Men's jeans aren't tight enough for them...LOL Well, gotta get ready to leave. later, all Shawnee |

Hi everybody,
OK, I've crossed the t's and dotted the i's for my currrent medical book. Got back from surgeon. Fourth audiological test matches the last 3 (after surgery)...all good. No explanation for the tinnitus return, seems I can hear through it pretty much though the experience of the highest overtones of a bird call are gone or at least buried. His best guess is that I still have a bit of viral labyrinthitus (from Helen Hunt) that's clearing up (dizziness is almost gone completely though I wouldn't dare the bike yet. Hope is that the tinnitus will abate with time. "Oh Jerry, Let's not ask for the moon, We have the STARS"....Bette Davis said it best! Yesterday was the my Personal Care Doctor and I should get a liver ultrasound....ANYTIME is ok. See the cardiologist when you can and see me in 6 weeks. Tomorrow a call to PCP for the CPK results for muscle damage. Legs sore, but I walked a mile today. So this chapter is well and truly put to bed. I got home at Noon today and hit the air conditioned bed for a sleep like a mummy must have in a sarcophagus. I awoke 2 hours later and wasn't sure what YEAR it was! Bob picking up a PIZZA and a cool front has JUST gone through NYC dropping temps into the 70's. SURPRISE! The windows still OPEN! Julie, What intense color those lobelias have. I love an uninterrupted border of only one thing....so many people feel they have to throw in the kitchen sink. Linda, Didn't love the cholesterol article. I will say that if I see ONE more reference to that Weston A. Price meat booster lobby group passing as fair sources of information, I'll SCREAM! All that minimizing of data on the dangers of blood cholesterol is half truths and innuendo and downright lies. On the other hand anythying that spurs one on to rage against has to be a good thing for eventually getting to the grains of truth embedded deeply within. OK: Here's the scoop on 501's for all my BRONCO BUSTER girlfriends. They are SEXY for the guy that can wear them right. The primary requirement is a BUBBLE BUTT (think two honeydews) as part of a slightly larger pair of hips than the waist might see as an average. There is also a bit more material around the fly buttons that can be enhanced by a generous "package".... or a beercan? The purpose was to get your STUFF in front and out of the way when the bronco bucked and thus the rider didn't come crushing down on his "next generation." The whole look is ruined if there's even the tiniest bulge above the tight waistband. So basically, it's big in back, big in front and a set of six pack abs. I never had the ass for them so it's been 505's for me![ ]

Roger, are you trying to say you don't like The Price foundation? Sorry about that, next time I'll post a warning.Glad your Surgeon's visit went well and your hearing is doing just fine. Shawnee, You are going to have strong thighs and some sexy butt for those jeans. Unfortunately or fortunately The only jeans that fit me are boy's size 14 or Bill Blass P4's. I'll stick with the kids sizes since they are a lot less money.Julie, I've seen surprising "blooms" on patients about to pass.Hopefully it will be peaceful. Glad you and dd had a good time and got along well. Family tension isn't fun. Lobiela is beautiful!! Thanks for sharing. Humm, I wonder if the deer will eat that if I plant along my driveway. Susan, take time to read something fun and not related to work once in a while. Ginny, aww pup is such a good girl. Hope she heals quickly. Loretta, Lobiela is in this area. I found it at Lowe's so I think it's available all over the country and not just in the NW. Put up a tent for those extra guests. LOL Camping on a lake shore is rather nice. Worked today and am off till next Tues. This morning on my way in, I saw a bear just off the road about 1/4 mile from our house. It looked pretty darn big too. More later. |

Late night check in.
Loretta--You sure will have a houseful. Ha, last week I bunked in with the grandbrats. All was fine till 2 yr old had a screaming temper fit at 3:00 a.m. Too much excitement and activity during the day, I guess. Ginny--I'm glad Tyke is doing better. She must know you're trying to help her. Susan--Can you do the reading outside in the great weather? I'm a 501 fan, also. They really are a good fit. Julie--Beautiful picture! You folks over here sure have a green thumb. Yes, so often dying patients rally for a short time. I don't know why, but it happens really often. You must be so excited about this Monday, and the new arrival! Shawnee--How was the Curves workout today? I'm going everyday, and jump around on my new trampoline for 1/2 hour. It's so much kinder on the joints than jogging. Zip--That nice cool nap must have felt great! And don't do the bike till the dizziness is completely gone. Linda--So, did the bear just stare at you. They do that here. Horns, car lights, don't faze them at all.

Poor DDIL is not a happy camper. She went to the dr. today and she found out the baby DID switch positions so it's no longer breach. So C-Section is off. Course it could move back. She wanted it over as she is so swollen, feet and hands. Hands also going numb. She is getting so big, I just can't imagine she'll make it much longer but you never know.
DBIL is unresponsive and not opening his eyes. Won't be long now... Suppose to be in upper 80's tomorrow. Guess I'll hibernate! But the good news is it's not going to last and will start cooling down on Friday. Pretty much been staying close to the phone. Did run to KMart, 6 blocks, and bought a new phone. Do you know how many phones they have?? Bought a Southwestern Bell, 2.4 GHz, cordless, call waiting and answering machine. Got everything I need I guess. Sure hope it works good. Til tomorrow, Julie |
