Mornin' gang!
Wonder if we'll have duplicates today ![]() The sun is out presently, but the forecast is calling for scattered t-storms for about a week I think. Keeps it cooled off a bit, but detrimental to mowing the dogs' yard. Just occured to me that in one month DH and I will celebrate our 16th anniversary...wow, is that a long time! Especially for someone to VOLUNTARILY live with ME! LOL Shawnee, I haven't touched a pushmower in a couple years. Won't do it either, way too much like work. I usually mow with the rider and DH does the weed eating. My right hand won't tolerate the vibration of the weed whacker, so I don't even touch the dang thing. Know what you mean about the birds using everything for target practice. They are masters at windshields. Loretta, pretty bloomers in them pics! Thanks for posting them! I know what y'all mean about time alone to do your own thing. I usually get up earlier so I have my quiet computer time. Recharges the batteries a bit. I think everyone needs some 'me' time, no matter if you take it just watching a movie, reading, playing or whatever. Linda, never had much for boobs and probably never will unless I get an 'addition' (which ain't gonna happen!). That's one of the reasons I'm so conscious of my weight...I like having SOME shape! Hoping the steroids don't give Gerard any trouble...some people get very ill tempered while on them. Moodiness and eating are the 2 biggies I've heard of. Zip, so how goes it? Any luck feeling better yet? You've sure had your share, so hoping you get well soon! Julie, hope between the dr.s and the ergonomic advice your back feels better quick! Have a super camping trip! Susan, oops, forgot to wish you a Happy Canada day! Glad you enjoyed yourselves! Did the fireworks bother Oliver any? Our biggie of course is Friday, and we have some kids living at the next place up the road. Their parents are very nice, so I don't think they'll let them go overboard in the 'noisemaking' department! Pam, have you bagged any tourists yet? Does your community have a big celebration for the 4th? Gotta go to town before work today and pick up some pics. Hopefully I'll have something to post in there! One of these days I'll look into a digicam, but they're still pretty $$$ for what I'd like to get. Later...

Boy Ginny, you had ME confused. Thought it was me as things are not going to good this morning. Spilled coffee all down my front after I got all gussied up to go to the Dr. Spilled some instant coffee all over the cupboard and went to add laundry soap to the load of wash and spilled it too. Afraid to get in that car!! LOL Anyhow, is there something wrong with your right hand? You know me, just curious and a newbie here. Have to repeat everything for me.
Susan, late with the Happy Canada day. Hope it was fun. Loretta, those were pretty flowers but like Shawnee, didn't think they were lobelia. Will post a pic of mine soon. Zip, can't move my monitor at all. My DH built thiis desk to fit it to a tea. I'm not convinced it is that anyway. Wake up hurting and sitting in my chair, driving etc. On my way to doc in a few minutes but not too positve he'll be able to give me a diognosis.Looked back at my post for yesterday and couldn't believe my spelling. Was in a real hurry and get sloppy. Best be on my way. Have to drive about 25-30 minutes. Hi to my dear friend, Linda. Hi to Pam and Shawnee.

HI to all'
We are sure having a beautiful day here and I think I will be on that fishing boat when it leaves the dock today. Shawnee thanks for the web sites on my flowers. I am still not real sure because they did not show a nice pic of the leaves. I really don't have leaves on my flowers just a fern looking like greenery. But the flower looks more like the Campanula. Good deal on the lawn chairs being discounted alread. Seems like summer has just started. In a week or so the papers will be showing Back to School Sales. No ripe Toms yet but anxiously awaiting one. 16 years Ginny that is great!. Any special plans for you two? To get a camera that will do what you want it to it can be pricey. But to be able to show off those orkids (for one) it would probably be worth it for you. My DIL held out for a very nice 35mm camera and she takes great shots with it. Now on the other hand my DB has a manual camera. He has to wind it after each pic. But he insists that the pics are great. He was offended that I made fun of his camera. TO each his own. DH mows our grass on a riding mower. I have not learned how to do that, but there sure are a lot of women in the south here that mow on the riding ones. Susan glad you enjoyed the day yesterday. Being with family is such a nice way to celebrate holidays. Linda hope that those patients have their anger undercontrol and all goes well for you. Zip what is happening there by you. Hope you do not have any more health issues. You have had enough. Did you ever find out the results of the stool cultures? Julie hope that Dr. visit gets you some relief for that back. You might need to slow down some. Get some rest on that camping trip. Later

Hi all,
Ginny, 16 years. Cool! So what are you going to do to celebrate? Do you have Carpal tunnel syndrome in that wrist? My daughter was on steroids for about 5 years due to a severe chemical allergy. She did get moody but hopefully she didn't lose too much bone mass. Her face was a bit round but she really didn't gain any weight to speak of. . Shawnee, Glad you have a big tractor to do the "big yard". Push mowers are a bit much at our age. Actually I would love to have a service come once a week but they are expensive. So are you going to post a picture of your pond and new outdoor furniture? I bet it's just as beautiful as the rest of your yard. Thanks for the links. I love to look at garden sites. Question for those in Washington state and Tennessee. Do you know of any age restricted communities? I'm kind of looking for places with a minimum age of 55, reasonable houses and a few goodies like a pool... There are lots of them in NJ and AZ but those states will tax our public pensions. Did a google and found literally thousands of sites but not many with much info. Mostly real estate agencies. Julie, I posted Loretta's cheese cake on the Golden for you. Wishing you the best today at the doctors. Hopefully you will get some answers. Loretta,If you can drive a car, you can work a lawn tractor. My 7 year old grandbrat can do it. Wishing you luck catching those fish. I sure wish I were there instead of going off to work this evening. Don't forget to post pictures of your catch.Roger, how are you feeling today? Hopefully the ear noise is begining to go away. I wouldn't worry about being on the steroid short term. I've had to have it IV and orally several times for my severe asthma attacks. Not fun but fortunately it didn't do too much damage. Pam, Where are you girl? Susan, are you back to work today? How were the fireworks. People are shooting off a few here so the sheriff will be roaming the neighborhood soon. Humm, I wonder what the fine is. Off to eat something and then go into that snake pit. Later |

Hi Ya'All!
Thank YOU for the kind wishes for a Fun Canada Day! We did, albeit Quiet, but Fun and wonderfully Relaxing!Just got back from a picnic and leisurely walk with the dogs to a beautiful park. DD picked Oliver and I up in her SUV. I had the cooler packed with legal food, a thermos of decaf coffee, and water for the dogs. We sat on a blanket in the shade of a large tree. We were close to the River, with families of ducks in and out of the water. There were some artists painting the scenery, some quite elderly, it looked like they were having Fun! The dogs stayed closeby, especially Oliver. Sassy would inspect the squirrels and they always made it up the trees. Another wonderful relaxing day.....these must be the dog days of summer eh? In the 80's and Sunny! Another God-given day to enjoy!Roger, Hope the pred is doin the trick! Ya have to be on it for years to get that moon face side effect. Have ya been on a bike ride lately?........too hot? Still out hunting for bargins? Yikes, that is true about the Fish and Chicken loaded with water. I guess if it is fresh and not drippin must be pure meat, if frozen I guess they can freeze the water right in their and charge as weight. Congrats Ginny on 16 years.......got me singing, "16 Candles," I know that is not appropriate for an Anniversary, just my ol' mind drifting back! We did not venture downtown for the big bash, bands and a huge Firework display, so Oliver seemed okay with the odd ones that we did see. He loves DD's company so that kept him occupied, she is a real doggie person.Linda, be careful at the "Snake Pit" hope you Harrison Ford there to protect you! So glad that Gerard and YOu are over that ordeal.......NOT, "Romancing the Stone!"I just have the Prenatal Group tomorrow night. So a happy week for me! Hope ya receive those checks soon! After all thats what we are doin this fer! Loretta, whatever the names of those pretty flowers. They were a delight to see, what a beautiful contrast. I have never heard of either variety. So I'm learning all the time. Back to the docs tomorrow for the breast tissue interpretation of the old and new films. Second opinion. Last week he seemed to be leaning towards an open biopsy, not sure if I need it or not, the other docs said just wait and see! So will see what he says tomorrow morning. Then I guess its up to me! Shawnee, as I said to Loretta, I am still getting and education on gardening, thanks to YOU and all those wonderful site that you insert for us. Hope ya keepin cool! Julie, you asked for a typical day. B: usually Sausage, tomatoes, and egg all fried in a little olive oil. HOt tea with cream x 4 cups. L: large salad with dressing, or broccolli, cauli, or other veggies with butter, sour cream and some left over meat, or hamburger pattie topped with a little cheese. Water, Water. S: Usually the same as lunch just different meat, fish and veggies, or the tacoless tacos, sometimes curried meats and veg. Dessert: sliced strawberries, or raspberries, heavy cream with toasted nuts. Water, Water, Water, TV time: Red wine with sf 7UP a few almonds or cubes of cheese. The occasional Belgian choc bar 3.4 carbs a bar. Pam glad to see ya posting again! That's All Folks! ![]() |

Waiting for my STicky Chicken to get done so have a few minutes. Dr. took xrays of lungs and back. Did I know I have scoliosis? NO. Do have degenerative arthritis in my neck and lower back from years ago. OLD news. Anyway nothing showed up so he's sending me to physical therapy, gave me tylenol w codene. (how do you spell that?) Also gave me a muscle relaxer which I took 2 hours agao and hasn't done anything. Am I suppose to feel better? Well, it didn't work. Don't want to take the codene unless I have to and especially without eating dinner. Not good on the spelling here. So if I'm not lots better in a few weeks, I'm to let him know. Have a few days of rest coming up so maybe that will help too. Today it took 2 1/4 hours at the Dr. and then stopped at 2 stores before I got home. Then did 3 loads of laundry and folded it. Cut up 4#'s of strawberries and made Lemonaid thingie dessert. Just going to make a salad and have chicken for dinner. too tired for anything else. Will answer everyone later. Going to go lay down for awhile while I smell that wonderful chicken cooking. Julie

Hi Y'all
Remember back in March or April, I planted some Primroses in the front porch brick planter boxes...and they tried to freeze?? Well, some hung on to keep blooming yet! (see upper RIGHT corner) ...a little help from Spray'nGrow...hehee A couple months back, I planted tomatoes and marigolds amongst those primroses. Here's the first ripe ones from them...Gold Nugget.. cute, huh?![]() more pics soon... Montana, our deck is small, like 12 x 10..and totally crowded with potted plants...so here's one (of the two of this style) of DISCOUNT chairs I got. Its being attacked by a Gootendorst rose. Lobelia on left. ![]() Last edited by shawneesioux : 07-02-2003 at 07:55 PM. |

![]() Hope your MAGIC PILLS do wonders. ![]() Did the Doc recommend anything special to do (sit, lie, exercize, etc) for the Scoliosis?..will it be relieved, hopefully, when ya get rid of the muscle problems? Susan, your day with DD and Pups at the River sounds like a Heaven-sent mood enhancer...like being INSIDE a scenic painting... Best Wishes for your Doc trip tomorrow. ![]() My DGBrat forced me (LOL) to Curves again today; she LOVES to see me sweat heheee, I'm kinda proud that I can "almost" keep up with her there.Yes, I loved Sixteen Candles make a lovely light...but not as bright...as your eyes tonight... How's Gerard doing? Sorry, I don't know about those kinda Communities.. hadn't really thought about it.Loretta, I admit I get a little wild when driving the riding mower...NO Speed Limits in the outback! ![]() After Bob saw me run it the first time, he welded up a little bumper and bolted it on...GEEZ, he had such little faith in my manuverability..LOL You gotta try it! ![]() I refuse to drive his ol antique tractor..LORDY, it pops and makes gawd-awful noises....but the younger GBrats love to be pulled in the trailer behind it, across the pasture ![]() .......so, what was the outcome with the change of your diet? I am finally pain free for the first time in over a month BUT I'm all drugged up. Maybe the camping trip will give me some needed rest!
Loretta the pain is in my mid back right about my bra, just to the right of my spine. LOL a girdle would be a little tough to get up there. Hey, I wouldn't need a bra!!!!!!!!! LOL Can you just imagine that??? Did you get any fish today??? Took pics of my Lobelia today but for some reason PhotoIsland wouldn't let me upload. Will try again tomorrow when my mind is a little clearer. Linda, thanks for the cheesecake recipe. Ran out of cream cheese so will try it another time. I made that lemonaid dessert thingie that Mary posted on the Golden. I felt so sinful as it was so rich. I wonder how many thousands of calories was in that??? LOL We have lots and lots of Senior Housing here but not aware of any senior communities. There is one I can think of that people have put manufactured home on and it is all seniors. Do you mean gated communities? I can do some searching if you want. Did you put Washington State in your search? Susan, what a wonderful scene you produced. I bet it was just as nice in person. It sure would be nice to have such a great relationship with my DD. Not going to happen though. I love to hear about other people's good times. I do have a wonderful relationship with my 2 boys. Thanks for your menu. Appreciate it. Good luck tomorrow, we will be thinking about you and saying a few prayers for good results. Wish we could take the worry away. Shawnee, don't worry about kidding me. I love it! We need more of it in our lives. He didn't even say anymore about the scoliosis. He's sure it's muscular. Me too. Just wish I knew what is causing it. It could be the way I sleep. I curl up a lot and I know when I curl my head to my chest, it kills me. Ginny, 16 years is quite a feat!!! Go celebrate and enjoy!! Our 40th is in August!! Not many people make that anymore. Where's Zip?? or did I miss him in my fog!!!!????? Julie |
