"HOWDY" on this last day of June, 2003
Gee
I rarely get here first anymore. Where are all of the maintaining players today? Must be this great weather getting us all out and about. I sure feel refreshed now that the rains have stopped and I can get outside and not step in a pile of mud. Going to plant a bunch of hostas today in pots and put the pots in the ground. I am going to surrond the soil with crushed egg shells first. I bought some fresh new soil too. Sure hope this works. Susan I found it interesting to read about your bra fitting. What a nice size you are. I thought also when you lose the weight that that size is the first to decrease. But I have stayed about the same in that dept, 34 C. A hard to find size sometimes in all cotton bra. Other wise I itch from those latex additions in them. Roger hope you are not having and NEW developments today in the health department. Maybe you have gone off to see the doc. Shawnee my DH is not a bad picture taker when he can get the mechanics down right. I usually do all the picture taking though and I am notorious for cutting off heads etc. I have taken some bad shots frequently. I sure like this age of digital cams though. We can sure get into each others surroundings etc. Linda hope you don't have to work too hard this week and your pay checks start rolling in regularly. Glad you liked the sticky chicken. I usually have a good amount of grease left in the pan but no broth. Don't know how you did that. I have slowed down on my baking now that I am trying to eat more protein. We will see tomorrow when I weigh in. Julie when do you leave on that camping trip. Hope that place will not be too extra crowded with the holiday celebrations. Be careful out there. Ginny how goes it by you? Rain in our forecast for the next day or two but not any bad storms. Hope the pup's ear and your behing are mending. Wonderful how our bodies let us recoup. Out side for me now. Got some pine mulch to finish off my yard in a place or two. Later, Loretta |

Hey everyone!
A bit of rain here today, was out mowing when it started. Finished off the back and side yard, all I lack is the dogs' yard. At this rate, I'll have to bale it! I have come to the conclusion that us thin people get more sore since we don't have much PADDING!!! So, I'll take the slow mend. All is much better, and should be ready to ride next weekend provided the fireworks don't get everyone too excited. We'll see. Loretta, WOW on those 'mater plants! Sheesh, that spray and grow wasn't kidding! You're gonna have a bumper crop, but at least you'll get to pick at eye level LOL Shawnee, know what you mean about being cranky from the heat. At work it gets hot--very hot--and I get a bit short tempered too. Glad it's cooled off a bit for ya, and hope it stays reasonable! Does Pup have a fan to herself? We have a box fan in the kitchen and Tyke loves to lie right in front of it. Linda, have the rest of your checks come through yet? Here in TN, fireworks are legal, but the scary combination is beer+rednecks+fireworks= ![]() Zip, sorry to hear about the tinnitus. Have the steroids helped? Any chance it is enhanced by the surgery? Not sure where tinnitus comes from, but sounds very aggravating. Susan, know what you mean about the memory and having to read all that extra...I make lots of notes to myself! I hate buying bras, and it's hard to find a good fit for me at 36-38A ![]() Pam, enjoy the holiday week, even tho there's tourists about. If they call it tourist season, can you shoot them? Julie, another camping trip, huh? Hope this one goes better than the last one. That one woman won't be there will she? Well, off to work. Y'all have a great Monday!

Yikes where is everyone today?
Loretta, The chicken I got was a rather large roaster so perhaps it had a lot of moisture in it. Odd isn't it! The small ones I get for $.70 per lb don't generate that much broth. Are egg shells good for Hostas and other plants? We sure have a lot of egg shells around here. Ginny, You are so right! We don't have a lot of padding. My butt gets sore sitting in the car very long. Ugh, we have a 3 or 4 day trip out west this Sept. Guess I'll get a foam pillow. LOL the furbabies do love to lie in front of a fan. Poor Inky did a lot. No more checks yet. The %$#*&^%$ still owe me three of them. ![]() Don't work too hard. Shawnee, I hear ya on the heat. The entire facility I worked in for 18 years wasn't air conditioned. It was just one big solar collector. UGH. Now they have renovated all but the top three floors so it's not too bad on the patient units. Unfortunately I never even had a small airconditioner in my little office. LOL I don't even have an office this time, just a little desk and cabinet in the back of a huge program room. The room does have 2 huge window units though. Hope you and pup are enjoying some cooler temps. Susan, Bras are not one of my favorite buys either although I get by with some of my old ones. Didn't lose much there darn! and I have a big rib cage. Julie, LOL I sure hope that "woman" isn't there again to spoil your fun. I have a few things I would say to her and would tell you but I don't want to get banned from here. ![]() Pam, yeah!! Shoot those tourists. or at least use bear spray on them. Roger, My gosh are you OK? I hope the dizziness isn't keeping you flat on your back. Check in soon or we will worry ourselves sick. Work went well and will do the same tomorrow afternoon. Gee wonderful, broke NYS just issued all of us there ( maybe 800 employees) expensive, Personal Tracking/Alarm devices. Just what we need. Now they will be able to track us all over the facility. More later. Last edited by LoveMontana : 06-30-2003 at 03:24 PM. |

Hi guys,
I'm mending till the next assault. Took 30 of the 50 mg prednisone prescribed and that's eliminated most of the dizziness. Such a POWERFUL drug makes me very nervous: it cures "what ail's yah" but often at a high price. Unfortunately tinnitus may be with me- I have some theories. I'm not sure if I will see the surgeon soon because it's a haul for just a chat. I'll give it a few more days. Same with the gp and his Poopy Numbers. Loretta, We both LOVED your "getting Older" mailing. Laughed out Loud. Linda I hate that broth thing. They soak a 4 pound bird in brine till it sucks up a poind of water: voila'. a 5 lb. bird-more money They do it wilth flounder too and at $9.99 it's enough to make me avoid the stuff....who want a lb. of water in the baking pan! Went to bank to close the FOURTH CD expiring this year (I HAD to make this trip). Same story: $4 for a "bank check"! I said, "I won't pay to get my money. Give me the cash" "But SIR that's over $18,000...you should have called this morning to take out so much" Off the cuff I uttered loudly, "Is this a bank or a grocery store?" Over toddles the manager....same story! I said: "Emigrant never USED to charge a fee for teller's checks" She said" It's been in effect for 2 years." (the account for 4) Me: "Well you never notified me in spite of sending an endless stream of useless garbage into my mailbox. Now give me my money in Check, Cash, or gold dubloons, if you must, but I will NOT be charged for this bank paying what it owes me" She waved the check fee. Lord, I've got a REALLY BIG one next month. Sleeves rolled up! We are sick over this because we had anticipated 5% on this pile to live on...not like it's saving for the grandkids or anything- there aren't any[ ]

Have my little DGD today. Unfortuately she isn't getting much attention. Had to run and get a quick massage for my back. I have been getting muscle spasms in my mid back on my right side. I couldn't breacth very good the last 2 days so got in, in a cancellation. It has bothered me some for a good 2 months. Am wondering if it's this new computer desk my DH built me. May have to have a heart to heart with him. Going to the Dr. on Wed, to hopefully get a referral for more massages. Couldn't wait today and so lucky she had a cancellation.
Lorettta, glad your rains have stopped for now. I love Hosta's. Good luck with them. Got a nice shady place? We don't leave for our camping trip until Thursday and be back on Sunday. Ginny, isn't it GREAT we DON'T have padding!! LOL Still sore, huh? Boy, you must have bruised way deep. No that woman won't be there this time, thank the Lord! Linda, tracking devices, so you don't wander away!!! LOL Don't want any skipping out for a shopping trip or anything!! LOL Roger, did the tinnitis happen after the surgery or was it there before hand. My DH has that in one ear and it's sure aggrivating to say the least. Hope all is ok. Julie

Julie,
Tinnitus was there before the surgery, gone after ....til Saturday. I was so happy it had gone. On the other ear surgery(1979) the tinnitus left that ear for good while the LEFT got worse and worse. Since it came on with the dizziness, I am prayerful that it will go away with it (or at least lessen). At least I'm used to it after all these years, but I DO hate it. Like an unwelcome family member who stays for a few.....DECADES! |

LMAO Shawnee,
Yup I have to at work and around here or my back hurts. Well except the minute I get home and inside, I take it off.Roger, hopefully that tinnitus will go away soon and stay gone. Prednisone is NASTY stuff but has it's purpose on rare occasion. Gerard just finished his 5 day dose. Yeah water stuffed chickens, fish and ham SUCKS big time. Geez Julie, I hope those spasms are nothing too serious. Did the massage help. Have you had an MRI to r/o any spinal problems? |

Hi Y'all
Well, Geez...... sorry to hear some of our Troops are having problems.ZIP, even being less than 100% fit, you still manage to entertain us Hoping you get good results.Montana, I don't call them Bras; they are barbaric harnesses ....and I am sooo looking forward to the twilight years, when I don't give enough chit to bother with them ![]() The crushed Eggshells are a deterrant against SLUGS...plus they release Calcium. Susan, are y'all enjoying that spiffed-up deck? LOL..I think of YOU each time I sniff any of the four David Austin English roses. ![]() TINK has a MAJOR Great SURPRISE ...it's AWESOME! Hope she tells y'all SOON! ![]() Poor Julie, sure hope you get to the bottom of your back problem, and get relief! You gotta be able to enjoy that trip. Can't believe it, I was THANKFUL for our little cloudburst today! Yeah Goddess...Pup picks whatever fan she wants, and hogs lots of floor space to enjoy it. How's your Furbaby/ear thing coming along? Hope you're soon back in the saddle..comfortably ![]() Loretta, it'll be interesting to see if the Protein theory makes a difference Good luck with those Hostas. If ya have any Pine Needles around, they make great slug barriers also.Did Curves today, I feel stronger. Shawnee |

Here I am, late as usual. Yesterday was Suzy Homemaker Day. Cleaned the office, which takes forever. All oak, 2 computers, etc. Today, worked 9:30-5:30, then went to Curves. They'd had a promotion going for a 5 day/4 night Cruise. Yours truly won! So, DH & I will probably set it up for our 35th wedding anniversary this fall. They took a bunch of pictures, and are going to put it up on their website. Oh, then after my 15 minutes of fame, I worked out.
Loretta--It's great the weather is cooperating there for you. I've heard of using egg shells in the soil. Have you had success with it? Ginny--I was gonna say use a pillow, but it would probably slip off the saddle. How about sheepskin? Linda--Personal Tracking Alarms?? Geez! Regarding pillows for travel, I use one. It sure helps the tailbone. Zip--It's a good thing Prednisone is a short term drug. I hate to take any steriods. Keep up the good fight with the bank! Julie--The position and level of the desk and computer could possible be the culprit in the back spasms. Did the massage give you any relief? Shawnee--That sure made my day! Margaritaville, here I come! Does your Curves have any promotions going?

HI Again...
well, is our Tink one lucky Gal, or what??? ![]() ![]() ![]() Tink, you have the Midas Touch! All that work, you DESERVE a great Cruise. YUP, ours has Promos too......and we have to answer Quiz questions...mostly Geography stuff. Julie...I have every reason to believe your wilted tom will survive, if only wilted for one day....Today was sooo much cooler, shouldn't have been much damage. I let that Tumbler wilt one day, and it perked right back up! When the toms get a little further along, gonna take a knife to the root system, and slice into about 1/3 of them...this hastens ripening. Just gotta MISS the main stem one. Hope ya find SOMETHING to help your back. ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 06-30-2003 at 11:29 PM. |
