Sunday June 29

Hey gang,

Can't hardly believe we're almost out of June already! Wow, time is flying this summer. The fireworks stands are popping up all over now, kids are having a heyday buying the stuff. We generally stay home for the 4th and keep an eye on the place. Don't want to have any scared critters! With the dogs it's easy, just keep them inside, but I'd hate for the horses to get spooked since they are masters of self injury!

Zip, is everything back to normal yet? So glad the hearing has greatly improved, are you used to it yet? That's quite a good Dr to call and check on you!

Julie, so sad about your BIL's cancer...hugs to you and your family!

Linda, no Dr. for me...it's not that bad really, I didn't have any cuts, broken bones, or anything that scared me, so unless I'm in bad shape I self medicate. Kinda my rule of thumb is if it's not spurting, laid open, displaced or so painful I can't stand it, I don't go get checked out. When I go down, I always do an 'inventory' to make sure getting up is a good idea and so far the ponies have caused me no lasting harm

Loretta, the pic never came through Photo Island must really be busy this weekend. Sheesh.

Shawnee, you must be playing outside this weekend. Any more ripe 'maters to keep Pup away from?

Susan, working on the weekends, huh? Even prep work has to be done, especially in the medical field. Hoping you can get out and enjoy yourself!

Pam, I bet your area is beautiful this time of year! Pics would be nice....hint hint!

Well, all, time to lurk for a bit, then get moving once again. Everyone have a wonderful day and will pop in later hopefully.

Hi guys,

Further adventures: Yesterday morning we walked to ShopRite. With every footfall I'd get a little dizziness. Annoying.
When I got home and settled in front of the puter, my old tinnitus started screeching pretty loud.
Called surgeon's answering service for emergencies. He's got a colleague on call this weekend. He called back in less than 5 minutes..told me just to rest, and if it got worse call again and he'd order some steroids.
It did, he did, and I've just taken the first 10mg prednisone (of 5 per day). It's probably a little inflammation due to this lung congestion/cold...whatever....I HOPE!
I'll make an appointment to see him this week....God bless the paid up OXFORD!
Boy, I'm making up for 3 years without a doctor's visit!

Heat and humidity are already moving in again. We had only one nice day: DRAT!

Roger

Hi Y'all

Sorry for being a No-Show yesterday; I actually logged on last night to Post, but I was in such a grouchy mood from the heat, I decided NOT to post...cause it woulda been whine-y

Goddess, such good (considering the alternatives) news re your FurGirl's ear, bless her heart! Darn "swamp" stuff, that yeast! LOL...I has one in my belly button, (I'm a serious "innie" ) and cleared it up with Alcohol.
Enjoy your day in the GH, and hugs to ALL the Furkids...
Yeah, you sure don't need spooked ponies!

We have too many careless neighbors who turn the neighborhood into a War Zone for days...find those damned flying fireworks on the roof, up in the trees...as dry as it is, its a real worry! Would love for them to all be totally illegal. WA has too liberal a stance on them.

Julie, sympathies to you and your Family; what a tough situation.
Yes, it was waaay to hot here yesterday, 96°...today only 80 forcast...
I watered early and deadheaded, and then the afternoon heat sent Pup and I inside to the AC. HATE being trapped inside!
Have two more lil Tumbler Toms nearly ripe, they are even smaller than the first one...but still its fun to have that particular plant. Hope all you tom growers get one next year.

Loretta, I couldn't se your pic either,..even by snatching up the Properties thing from it....BOO HOO..wanna see you and those Toms!

HI to Montana (Proud ol' Auntie! ) , Tink, the Exercising Gal...ZIP, hope you are feeling better ALL over...
Susan, our Orator...
Have a Super Sunday!

Let my try again

Well it might have been the operator. No smile. Well Dh first had the camera backwards and then I was trying to direct. You know how that goes. I had to tie up several of the toms branches to the cages. Tons of tomatoes. My shirt is too big too. I was using it as an over shirt. (beat myself up)

Zip sorry about the ringing in your ears. You seem to be having a few problems with the side effects. Once you get the systems cleared out you should be fine. Thank goodness those docs are on top of things for you. Guess your diarrhea has subsided. How about your lungs?

Shawnee I sure understand about that being pooped from the heat. I was busy hauling my rock of the hottest day of the year the other day. I was soaking wet. I usually never sweat.
It was chilling in the ac house until I got a shower and some dry clothes. Our area too will be having lots of guests over the 4th. Many strangers in the area and odd dogs running loose. Some fireworks celebrated by neighbors but not too bad. Lots of displays on the lake that you can go and watch by boat. We usually stay home and catch what we can.

Julie we had a dog once that loved the fireworks. She would chase those fire crackers and bark at them. She scared me that she would get burnt. Her last 4th of July (she was about to die) I carried her outside so she could hear them, she sure was not chasing any. She died the following day. Pretty Peaches, she was about 14 yrs old. A good memory of the pooch and the 4th of July.

Linda hope you and Gerard have a nice calm day and enjoy that Roast Sticky Chicken. Will Gerard have special foods to avoid? Just wondering if they gave him some diatary guidelines to follow.
That and the water.

Hi to the others, Susan, Pam.
Will check back later. Loretta

Hi again

Loretta, if you are THRU beating yourself up now...just wanna say ...I LOVE your lil self (smile or not!) in your Tomato Forrest!
That's some healthy-lookin' plants! How do you manage to look so dang young? !!! BE GLAD that shirt is BAGGY!

Right now, I have on some shorts that are baggy on me...and they feel sooo much cooler than ones that fit...

LOL...can sure relate to handing over the camera to DH He shoots the sky, my feet...

Glad you have that last good memory.

Geez, ZIP..hope that Pred does the trick, without too many side effects.

85° here at Noonish..can't believe it, but I'd WELCOME rain!

Thank goodness for Nukers and Grills.

later

Good evening everyone,

Busy day here doing nothing in particular. Just a quick visit to Sam's club and a stop at my daughter's to pick some of her raddishes. Wow are they good.

Ginny, It's too bad that the careless fireworks display spooks the horses and pups. Geezzz. It's ilegal in NY for private people to buy or have them. Police are kept busy ticketing people all over the county who buy them in PA and bring them back to NY.

Hopefully that sore bum will be better soon.

Julie, you are going to have lots of fun on that camping trip. Especially in a nice camper. Will there be fireworks displays at the park?
As for adding more carbs, humm. How about more berries. Saw the most beautiful strawberries at Sam's today. Yumm!

Roger, Good Gwad!! You have had more than your share of problems with this procedure. Hopefully the steroid will take care if it. Damned antibiotics cause far too many problems and side effects.
Thank heavens for health insurance, eh?
Hot and sticky here too. UGH! It goes from cold and wet to hot and wet, then cold and dry in the fall.

Shawnee, we sure missed you yesterday but do understand. That heat is NASTY and saps the strength.
Strict laws are sometimes a mixed blessing. NYS is taking more and more "rights" away from us, B@stards!!, but I sure understand your concern about those fireworks. Years ago there used to be many of them around here but they caused lots of injuries and even fires.
No dietary restrictions on gerard. Most are caused by excessive calcium so he stopped taking the supps.

Loretta, Wow!! Your toms are [/b]HUGE[/b] and lovely. LOL it looks like you are standing in a patch of large pot plants.
Strange how some animals don't mind the noise of fireworks. Hopefully you will have a good view of some lovely bursts.
Years ago when Gerard's family had a cottage on the lake in PA everyone around the lake set them off. It was so beautiful.

Sticky chicken is done and pretty darn good. For some reason we got a lot of broth. Going to use it for a soup.

Pam, hope you are having a good weekend and not working your tail off.

Susan, take a break from work and say hi to us.

Later.

Good Evening All!

We had a lovely morning, then about 3ish Thunderstorms passed over, with heavy rain, then within the hour all cleared up and dry again! The weather channel is warning us to watch out for Tornados and more Thunderstorms over night!

I managed to get some reading done this morning. I was off to the Mall this aft as they had a mega sale on bras. 45% off Wonderbra, couldnt find a style that I liked in that one. I got a Truimph soft and smooth, 30% off $42 so with tax $33.
I thought I would be a lot smaller after losing weight. The girl measured me at 29 underneath and again overtop and said 34B. I tried several on, no way, spilling over the top,the sides Yuk! tried 36 B and C still spilling over, so I tried a 38C. I cant believe this was the only one that fits comfortably. Anyone else experienced this?

Julie, sorry to hear your news. Hugs to you and your family.
Regarding the Reading I had to do. I do not thrive on work, quite the opposite. I think I keep up with my reading incase the old memory lets me down. A growing weakness!

Ginny, glad you are staying home with the "Critters" on Friday!
We will be at DD's with Oliver and Sassy on Tuesday our July 1st.
Lots of Fireworks that day up here too! Hope the ole gluts heal soon! Ya bin sufferin too long!

Linda, glad Gerard has no diet restrictions. I was going to ask did he take Ca supplements. I just take 1 at night to help with the sleep, has a calming effect at bedtime.

Loretta, Great Pic of you in your Tomato Forest. Is that the same "Rain Forest" from several weeks back! They seemed to have survived okay! Enjoy the Fireworks on Friday!
Sad story of "Peaches" but good that she saw the Fireworks.

Shawnee, Glad you posted today. We sure missed ya yesterday. I thought perhaps you off bakin n'tweekin agin!
With your central air, place a fan over the vent and blow it in your direction, brings th temp down another 4 degrees!
I was thinking of you today. I did some weeding, and the peonies are almost done, the heads were large and heavy, now we have lots of petals. Thanks for the tips and websites on peonies. I learned so much. gettin there!

Roger, Yikes tinnitus! Hope the steriods help get that under control. Has Menieres been ruled out? So glad that you have your Health Insurance. Keep in touch with the docs. Your health is too precious! as you are to us!

Pam are you still seeing Black and White?

All day at the office tomorrow, so I will be drained agin! Toastmasters tomorrow night, so hope to catch ya in the Evening tomorrow!

Linda, I have been eating about a cup of berries every day. Not many other carbs besides walnuts, cheese, eggs, flaxmeal muffins and meat. I bought some sprouted bread, 13 carbs and 4 g. fiber and thought I'd have a slice of that too. Scarey though, don't want to start gaining. I guess to add in very slowly is the trick.

Shawnee, glad your back. Have a lot of "sweet 100's" coming on.

Loretta, loved your picture. You look different in each one. Your toms look gorgeous too. LOL

Susan, hows my partner? Give me a menu you typically eat in a day, would you?
