ON WITH THE SHOW, June 28

Good morning all,

Up at 4:30 again. But well rested.

Nice cool air came in around midnight to replace the boiler fumes. Fan on overnight and the place is NATURALLY down to the lower 70's.

Julie,
I'm not at all annoyed about any reference to heavy drinking. It's just that I thought I'd mention my method because you are the "new kid on the block"...everybody else knows about it.
I know it's hard on the liver but since the same doctor pushed and prodded it only last month, this is something new and probably antibiotic related. God knows with the lungs.
Well, that's what we pay doctors well for (and insurance companies) so I'm soing to let them work it out for a change. Oh yeah, my right THIGH has been aching....how's THAT passle of symptoms?????

Loretta,

I got several of the "sometimes" on Shawnee's self-esteem test too. Not very quantitative I guess.

How's THIS for good medical care....my ear surgeon called me yesterday afternoon to find out how I was doing- is that rare or WHAT? He's such a sweetheart.

They opened a new Farmer's Market today about a mile away from me. It's open 8AM-1PM. I'm going to try for it. If the walk is too exhausting we'll take a bus back. I need some nice fresh produce. Trouble is , often these farmers think city folk are MADE of money- 'Taint True! I'd pay $1 a pound for a fresh tomato....but not more!

Later kids

Linda, let me know if that oxalate is confirmed.

edit: From Medline (brought to you by my worthless stock certificates):
Quote:
Hepatomegaly is enlargement of the liver beyond its normal size. Certain conditions such as infection, parasites, tumors, anemias, toxic states, storage diseases, heart failure, congenital heart disease, and metabolic disturbances may all cause an enlarged liver.
After the last 2 weeks adventure, I think I qualify for about half of the above.

Good morning Roger and everyone.

May I please come to the farmers market with you? There's nothing like farm fresh produce. We have or did have one in Downtown Bingo Town every Sat. during the summer but the area has become a tad bit dangerous. NYC drug dealers.
There's a cute little historic town about thirty miles away, Owego, that has one though, but it's a pain fighting the rt. 17 traffic on a weekend.

A nice refreshing cool front moved in here yesterday morning and got rid of the oppressive humidity. Gee Roger it took it's time getting to you.

Hang on to that doctor!! How rare is that?

Interesting little blurb on enlarged liver. My gawd almost anything can be the cause.

We are off to my brother's next door soon for my nephew's graduation party. Smart kid. He was accepted into the Biology program at Binghamton University ( Formerly known as SUNY Binghamton) As of now, the kid wants to go into Bio/medical research.

Youngest son ( problem kid of mine) got me a 13' x 9' screen house thingy for the deck that needs to be put together. He's thoughtful and kind if he stays away from drugs. It's going to be nice to be able to sit out side in the evenings in that thang without being eaten alive by mosquitos. I worry about West Nile virus.

Waving to Shawnee, Loretta, Susan, Pam, Julie, Ginny and any lurkers.

More later.
Linda

Good morning! Summer in Lake Tahoe=Paradise and perfect weather.
Zip--You have a winner in that doctor. Enjoy the Farmer's Market.
Linda--Downtown Bingo Town?? I envision lots of elderly people yelling out, "Bingo"!! Your DS sounds like a wonderful guy, and if he stays away from drugs, can be a terrific person. A big Congratulations to that nephew or yours.
Hello to Shawnee, Ginny, Loretta, Susan and Julie/

Hi to all

I agree with you about that doc being a pearl Zip. Lots of times the staff might call people but the doctor. That is wonderful. Are we going to investigate the enlarged liver? Did you get some nice produce at the market. I buy too much because I shop once a week and sometimes I forget one item or another that is in the fridge. I need to keep them guys moving.

Linda how is your fresh produce at Wal Mart. Our store does not carry good quality produce. Even the older stuff is not sold at a reduced price. I noticed that at Kroger when I got the ribs, they had some not so fresh but it had a reduced price. Cauliflower is what I was looking at. Enjoy that young mans graduation celebration. Bet his folks are really proud. Hope that screened in house is a snap to put together. That was sure nice of your son. We rarely sit outside in the evening. I try not to even venture out after supper. Because of the extremely wet spring, those mosquitoes are really bad. I guess I did not check the use by date on my meat. I wanted to cook it while it was still fresh and not frozen, but it had expired the day before. You would think that meat would keep a little bit longer than that. We are out of our good Amish beef and our new order is not in yet.

Hey Pam glad you are enjoying the right kind of weather for your paradise. I think you should have nice weather there all of the time. How is the tux business going? Hopefully they are on a slow down. How is little Ryan getting along?

Julie I had not heard of that Quervain's disease. Those hand surgeons are a special breed too. I wonder why the arthritis developed after the surgery? Guess that water mug was just too heavy for your hand. Hope that rx helps and you can be pain free.

Shawnee hope you had a better experience at Curves today. No more projects going on at your place? My tomato plants are about as tall as me. I will see if I can get DH to take my pic next to them.

Ginny hope you enjoy your weekend off. Maybe another horse ride. How is the pups ear problem?

Will check back later, Loretta

Tink and Loretta asked about the de Quervain's disease so here's link to explain it.

http://www.clevelandclinic.org/ortho...dequervain.htm

Went for a walk this morning around a beautiful alke. Sure felt good. It was warm though (85 now) and I got my head dripping wet from persperation. I guess this old crow can still get a good workout without keeling over.

Susan, how long are you dogsitting again? Just for the day?

Linda, enjoy the grad party. He must be really smart!

Loretta, not sure about why I got arthritis or if it is a result of the surgery. Will get my referral and go talk to him some more about it. It could be old age!!!

Talked my sister today. She's the one who's DH is dying with cancer. He is hanging on but it's so sad. A real downer for me. Am ready to take the trip to Boise as soon as I hear. Fertilized my toms again and my geraniums. Cleaned up my roses. It was too hot to be out there. Shawnee, I bet it's a lot hotter at your house.
Later, Julie

Had Dh snap this of me by my toms. Not sure if the island is cooperating today. It might show up later. It has a mind of its own just like my pc.

Julie my prayers are with your sister and her DH at this time. That is such a sad death to watch someone suffer.

Susan good idea to add that but I still Love you! at the end of the dummy.

Later

Hey gang,

Just a quickie from me today. Furkid's ear problem is a yeast infection caused by all the wet weather/humidity etc we've been having. Ear wash and a spray of some kind will take care of it. Did some running today around town after the Dr. visit, and she enjoyed having her momma and daddy to herself I think. Even had to stop and get her a glass of water (she did very well drinking out of that!)

Played in the greenhouse this afternoon, and now the cacti look happy and well cared for. Tomorrow do some in the orchid room. Still a bit sore from last weekend's equine adventure, so no riding for me this weekend.

Waving to everyone....hope the weekend is going well!

Ginny, Oh boy!! You must be so relieved that the ear condition is easy to treat. Thank heavens it wasn't anything too serious.
Glad your catci are happy. Tomorrow your orchids will be in their glory. Yikes! You are still hurting from that equine adventure?? Hopefully you saw a doctor.

Ding it Loretta!! Photo island is not co operating. That plant must be huge

I hear ya. Sometimes I find things in my refrigerator that are training their young My house is clean but sometimes my refrig. is neglected.

Julie, that must have been some hike around the lake, especially in such hot weather. Take it easy girl. I'm so sorry about your brother in law, it's so difficult for the family. You have my deepest sympathy.

Yes the kid is really smart and just loves biology, chemistry and all the science programs. He should do well.

Susan, LOL stupid and clutz are some of my favorite words. Guess I should add a few nice things too.
Sorry you have to do some WORK on the weekends. YIKES, that's not fair.

Where is our Shawnee? Hopefully enjoying the sunshine, but I understand it's hot out there. Stay cool girl and don't work too hard in that heat. How's pup holding up?
