Hi everybody,
Awake at 4 AM again....why does that happen every time I have a good low food diet day. Does my old limbic brain awaken me early so I can go out and "hunt," just likee my Neolithic ancestors???....I think the zipster has just come up with another theory. It is going to be killerama hot again today (yeserday was officially declared a HEAT WAVE in NYC- defined as 3 consecutive days over 90. Now they want the humidity up higher and higher! Temp overnight never went below 83 (at 4AM wake up time) Gotta be home for the cable guy 11AM-2PM...If he doesn't show up I will call the SENATE into a special session to get my TV settled - some things are sacred. YAAAY....23 hours so far without a toilet call. Maybe I can forget about the Flagyl, stool culture et al....[b]3 glasses of kefir today. For an eye opener, look at the price differential between Flagy and it's generic: http://www.drugstore.com/pharmacy/pr...131&trx=1Z5006 Isn't that astounding....and that's a DISCOUNT drug company. Linda, How's Gerard feeling? Shawnee, I like that term "Resale Shop" better than the Eastern term "Thrift Shop" which sounds so much like a place for bag ladies. Julie, I take a tsp. of cod liver oil every day for many months. The Omega-3 oils in fish oils are almost the only way to get HDL's up and mine were always desperately low. More later....gotta make coffee. edit: a lot developed in the last couple hours....felt I needed to go potty so I figured I might as well do the stool sample. Lasted 24 hours between- not bad. AND it was the consistency of pudding instead of weak coffee like its been for nearly 2 weeks....GO KEFIR. That sampling is abysmal, you MUST have a sense of humor. First CRAP on a plate...paper better than Lenox or Royal Doulton. THEN, apportion to 3 jars "to the red line" . These are filled with chemicals. Then a 4th larger container without a line...just "scoop some in and refrigerate. I popped into freezer and just as Bob was leaving for work I gave him the 4 samples to drop off. Maybe 20 minute delivery time....can't beat that. The whole operation reminded me of making mudpies (well, I never did that as a kid, I propogated roses and tulips instead- but the IDEA is the same. Can you conceive of a job as awful as receiving this crap (appropriate term) all day long. So at least I will get cleared of the clostidium (or NOT!-god forbid), amoebas, giardia, shigella, presumably candida (but I'm getting more and more convinced THAT only exists in the minds of "naturopaths" and their victims Out for an early toddle to market and back by 11 to WAIT for cable guy(I wonder if Jim Carrey will show up?). USHERING tonight (I HATE this....but a way to see something free) for a show called I AM MY OWN WIFE....supposed to be GREAT and no cheap tix available ANYWHERE. If you want to see a blurb: http://www.curtainup.com/iammyownwife.html Later gaters....I am in a euphoria since the ears were unpacked. The only thing holding me back from complete NIRVANA is the instilled belief that the "other shoe will drop soon." "Lord, what fools these mortals be." ......................... A Midsummer Night's Dream

Good Mornin Magnificient Ones!
Wow, looks like you were a busy bunch yesterday. I have to go back and read all the posts. Another Sunny, hot one up here again. I think we are getting the same weather Roger and Linda! Gonna have my nose in books today, preparing for tonights Prenatal Group. Lots to review!Roger, I LOVE your theory. I too wake early on the LC......me thinks, its the high B12 but your theory sounds more colourful. Did ya ever read, the "Clan of the Cavebear?" I read it a long time ago, more than a decade. I found it fascinating all that Neanderthal stuff! Loretta, I am sorry to report, that I DO NOT have a vegetable garden. My Dad always did. He even grew stuff for us when he used to come over for his 3 month summer visit. DH tried growing tomatoes but even that became an unsightly mess in the corner of the garden, so he prefers just grass mowing and I tend the odd flower. I would love to grow that baby spinach that you talked about a month or so back! Do you grow it in boxes or in the ground??? I have some seeds. Julie, Yeh! WE CAME OUT! LOL! How old is your DS, mine is 35. He told us when he was 16, a painful time for all. Happy times now! The iron supplement that you asked about is PalaFER 300mg it is OTC now, but used to be prescription. I pay about $30.00 for 90 capsules, 3mos supply, so not bad. I am thinking of getting the one with folate in it. I too want to get into the habit of taking Cod Liver Oil as Roger suggests. I take Lethicin and Salmon Oil ocassionally. We can all benefit from those "good" HDL's. I love the Facilitating, not quite lectures Julie, at least I hope not. The speeches are my hobby, like skydiving for some, adrenalin rush and all that! Just facing my fears and enhancing my presentation skills, so kinda life and job related. Wishing you a wonderful Day! Off to catch up on yesterday's posts! ![]() Last edited by SuSUN : 06-26-2003 at 07:43 AM. |

Hi, Y'all
ZIP, Congrats on graduating to the "Pudding" zone, and may all your cultures produce innocent results GAWD, Man...have you weighed lately? Also, welcome to the obscenely LOUD world of everyday sounds. LOL..you may find that excellent hearing can be a mixed blessing. We are sharing the same temps, sans high humidity. Enjoy that play, sounds deep.No Pinkies in waiting, just a few with a yellowish blush. Pup is a Pick-it-yourself gal, and has been known to OD on Toms and Cukes ![]() LOL...we also have Thrift Shops; a few minutes inside one and I have an overpowering urge to wash my hands. They are relegated to side streets, and any treasures to be found are few and far between. Ironically, their prices are generally higher than the Boutique-style, tidy upscale Resale and Consignment Shops allowed on Main Street. The two we have serve dual purposes: the Public has access to great merchandise at rediculously low prices, and the Profits support a Women's Shelter and a Homeless Shelter. Both stores' staff are volunteers. My neighbor and her DD own a Consignment Shop on Main Street; they both wear quality stuff for dirt cheap ![]() DGBrat is opting us out of exercizing today,..whew...she said my upper arms are looking tighter ![]() HI to all who follow...time to think SUZY around here. HI Susan...yes, I wake early following a good LC day, as was yesterday...5 AM for me today. . I read all of Jean A's books...facinating yet redundant at the same time...LOL... Shawnee |

Mornin' everyone!
Another sunny and warm one here. I'm going to start mowing the yard and will hopefully make a nice dent in it so I don't have to waste weekend time with that chore. Also, it's cooler now than it will be if I do it later.... Zip, so glad the runs have dwindled to the walks. Hopefully now they will figure out what it was that got you going and then you'll know what to eliminate in the future. Yes, I know that sounded rather humorous, but really not intended that way ![]() Julie, thank you for trusting us enough to post as you did! I know that had to be terribly difficult, but it obviously needed to come out. Huge HUGS to you, and a great big congratulation on your sobriety! Many people don't realize how psychological the dependence on alcohol (or your drug of choice) is, and how hard it can be to beat the physical side and THEN deal with all the reasons why. It is also very hard for family members to adjust from co-dependency and using that crutch, to being completely responsible for themselves. Remember, you can only take care of YOU, everyone else has to take care of themselves. Also congrats on your 40 years of marraige! That is a huge accomplishment too...and not always easy no matter how much love is involved! Shawnee, wow, did the ball get rolling yesterday! Thanks for telling us what you did, and the reminder to be responsible for YOURSELF today! Your Tom Tasting was wonderful, and Pup takes goodies so nicely! My Bub is like that, but the girls will make you count fingers after giving a treat LOL Now that she's had her first taste, will you have to cage the 'maters so she doesn't help herself? Linda, has everything settled down now? Hoping Gerard is done with the stones and meds and is on the road to complete comfort! I bet you're just whupped after all that, so take it easy and recharge those batteries! Loretta, any luck with a fresh caught dinner yesterday? Sounds like your DH lives on the lake during the summer! I bet this warm sunny weather is making your tomatos very happy! Will you be the next one to achieve a ripe Tom? Susan, glad your workload is lower in the summer months! With y'all's long winter there's plenty of time to work work work. Store up that sunshine and play hard ![]() Pam, what's up in your area? Hope all is going well! Off to lurk for a few, then the lawnmower awaits...

Hi again.
Cable guy hooked me back up exactly at 11 AM. YAAAAAY Prescription filled but I nearly fainted on the way home from ShopRite in the blazing sun. I AM dehydrated and it's 94 in the shade. I cancelled my ushering tonight. To risk passing out on a subway platform and being ambulanced to an ER just to see a show, seems incredibly silly at the moment- Bob understands perfectly! I ate a Burrito TV dinner for lunch with 1530 mg Sodium and I took a gram of potassium....and will stay air conditioned in front of the TV and computer today....BIG nap planned (to Hell with avoiding waking up early tomorrow!) Julie Tarzan says: "DENTIST BAAAD" Susan, I only saw the awful movie of THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR! I think lots of thing can be tied in with evolutionary survival. Certainly the genes to be as fat as possible: to survive frequent FAMINES...Almost every bodily operation can be attributed to "survivability of the species. |

Me again...quickly!
Julie, it took a lot of strength and determination for you to quit on your own. Many people can't do that, and you are fortunate that you were able to. From what I've heard, there are as many different AA groups as there are personalities and each group is different. Some will be focused on one thing while others are focused on another. It's just in finding the right group for the right individual so that you get what you need from it to help overcome your addiction. I'm sure this is the same as with any organized self help/group therapy type of thing. The principals may be the same, but delivery and mood can be very different! Recovery is the most important part, and every one is different in what they need for that recovery. Sounds like you got what you needed on your own, and that's all that counts. Good for you! Well, off to work, and gas up the truck... |

Hi to all
Late getting here today. I feel like I have been on the road all day. DH wanted some sale Danish RIbs from the store in the city. They are called Danish Ribs for .97 cents a pound. After I shopped I was almost home when I discovered that I had bought the wrong ribs, after thinking about the bill and checking it. The ones I bought were about 2x the price. So after I got home and regrouped I went back. Shot several hours for those ribs. Roger I am glad that you cancelled out your plans for ushering. I don't think the management would want to pick you up off the floor. How soon before you get stool sample results? You are probably on the down side with that diarrhea. Shawnee we have some "New to You" stores around here but I doubt if our locals would have the name brands that you found. I found some nice 3/4 length sleeve Rayon, Nylon sweaters at Sam's club. Just what I have been searching for at $17 a piece. Not too bad after some of the other blouses/sweaters I looked at for $20 and more. I bought 3 of them, white, blue and a combo black and tan w large stripes. They washed up like a dream. Ginny we got a little rain today. It has not rained here now for about 6 days. I think the plants needed it. DH rarely catches fish on the days that I am planning on having it for supper. Julie we are always here to listen. That is what is so great about our little band. We can listen and then let it go. Sometimes we just need to vent or get something off of our chests. Hear the company pulling up. Will give them chicken soup, salad and maybe some bread. Later, Loretta |

ROFLMAO Roger.Your "collection" data has me laughing so hard tears are running down my face. The mental image is just too much. Hopefully Bob didn't slip, fall and break open the container on his way to deposit it at the facility. Ah, I see your hunter/gather instinct kicked in. You must need to eat something more before bed. Enjoy the cool comfort of your air conditioned place and some good tv. It's hotter than hell here too and so HUMID!! Susan, I hope your class goes well tonight. Anthro was one of my favorite classes in college. I love that stuff. Shawnee, Those thrift shops give me the same overpowering urge to scrub the hell out of my hands too. LOL I even carry those individual antibacterial hand wipes with me where ever I go. I even hate to touch MONEY. Boy you best have a long talk with pup about picking those veggies without supervision. At least train her to "fetch" them back to you. Julie, <shudder> Dental appointments are a necessary evil. Good luck. Glad you are feeling better. Sometimes it's best to get it out and leave it there. Ginny, What's gass running per gal. there? Ours has come down a bit but not where it was last summer. Don't work too hard and stay cool. Loretta, pray tell What are Danish Ribs? Company again?? Wow you are always busy feeding people. Must get expensive. Gerard is doing well and even had the energy to get the car inspected and finish fixing the lawn tractor. It was so bloody hot and humid that I just stayed in the air conditioned house all day and got some molly stuff done. Let things slide a bit these past two weeks. I'm thinking about baking something now, maybe the K cookies or some more of the muffins. Or maybe I'll lurk in the recipe room for a bit. Later. |
