My "Carb nights" & ketones + new goal
I haven't written down the numbers but the pattern is very obvious again and again every week so I thought I'd share.
For 2 1/2 months now I have been having carb nights once a week (I started doing them about 4 months ago but first it was just twice a month). On Sunday nights I have a 6 hour window I can have anything I want, including flour and sugar. On average I have about 300 grams of carbs split between two sessions. Two flour based meals (like pizza for example) and then sugary desert after.
Typical measurements for me have been:
The morning after: 0.1
24 hours later: 0.5
Morning of 2nd day: Also 0.5
Morning of 3rd-4th: 0.7-1.0
Morning of 5th-6th: 1.0-1.5
So as you can see I have a steady increase until the next carb night and the cycle repeats.
I started doing this weekly once I had reached my goal and it pretty much locked in my weight. Not losing, not gaining. Doing it twice a month slowed it down but I was still losing.
Although I'm still at my goal weight I have a new goal to lose few more pounds of fat to get more cut. I am lifting weights now so the weight tells you less so I'm gonna have my body percentage measured and focus on that instead. I'm wondering will the waist measurements also be less reliable if I'm doing lots of ab workouts?
Anyway my new mini-plan now is to do 1 month of clean eating and at that time reevaluate. Also stick with the 20 g net carbs limit (I have been around 30-35 lately).
It will be interesting to see the ketone measurements next week after skipping the first carb-night. I'll report back on that one.
