Yes of course it's an individual thing as well. Some people are food addicts on the drug addiction level.

Eating asparagus makes your pee stinky - never would have known that if I didn't LC because there was no way I was going to try the stuff. But I love it now!

I try to take a plate of deviled/curried eggs to potlucks, along with my main dish. However I need to make sure I actually get one! They go fast, even among non-low carbers

Yeah. My deviled eggs or freshly roasted curry nuts always seem to disappear quite quickly

Isn't funny how non LCers devour LC food- my DD is after me to califlower(potatoe) salad.

FYI I was at TJMAXX today and got a huge jar of coconut oil for good price. I also picked up coconut palm sugar 3carbs per t. It says it can be used in baking. I thought I would sneak it into something for the family....reduce their carbs on the down low

Certain coffee flavored drinks do the same for me, even Slim Fast shakes used to make my pee smell like the product. (back when I tried Slim Fast shakes, years ago)

Sugar-free ice cream (factory-made) is a baaaad idea, digestion-wise.

I'm learning that I don't need to add a sweetener to my coffee to truly enjoy it. I always added organic raw sugar or local honey or sometimes even maple syrup to my coffee in the morning on my maintenance diet. Now I drink it with only cream or half and half - and I don't even miss the sugar. Goes to show you that even when you feel you have a healthy diet, there are always things that you can do to lessen that high glycemic load without sacrifice.

There is always some way that they are trying to sell their sugar..."It's healthy sugar" Sugar is sugar and it doesn't matter what form it's in. Let me count the ways.....

I never ever sweeten coffee, agree with you about the cream. I do salt my coffee, though. Go figure! I am always short on sodium and I've found it to be much more palatable in coffee than adding more salt to my food. Over time, I prefer my coffee salted.

Kahuna you were at Carolina Beach? I can not go anywhere near Britts donuts. Takes a strong person to resist! My daughter is in Raleigh and we usually go there every year, missed this year as my husband is recovering from back surgery. I really like the slow pace at CB.

My family really enjoys CB. I grew up down there in that area. We drive down from Raleigh. Britt's is GOOD, but I only watched while my kids enjoyed a couple of donuts. They did smell good though!

Had breakfast at 9 and went to the gym at 10.

At noon I went to help a friend move. I thought it would be 2-3 hours so I didn't have anything to eat. It turned out to be the whole day and part of the evening. I came home at 21.

Anyway since it took so long couple of the guys went to the store (without me knowing) and bought some food for everybody. This was around 7 pm, so I hadn't eaten anything for 10 hours, in that time working out and constantly on the move and lifting things.

Lots of people so they got something quick and cheap... sliced BREAD.

I wondered if I should give in because of the situation and cheat this one time. But I was just back in ketosis after having a planned high-carb evening on Sunday...

I took 4 slices of cheese, spread butter on them and rolled them up. It was enough to keep me going until I got home The weird part is nobody even commented on it.

I don't think I've ever been this tempted but I didn't give in so I'm proud of myself.

I'd buy these products so much more if they skipped the maltitol and put something else, like erythritol.

Maltitol is the next town from sugar in my opinion.

Not only is the problem threshold really low, it's also the most active sugar alcohol.

It must be the cheapest one since it's used so much (kinda like aspartame is the cheapest AS).

I've been hungry all day! I get at least one of those days a week it seems. I've got nothing here to snack on that I want. I think I'm craving "salty" and have no almonds or pistachios.

I think I'm going to saute some pecans in butter and salt.

I was also on the go all day, and realized that I did not drink much water today, mostly diet soda or tea.

I used to HATE green beans because I never tried them in any form but canned. Blech. I've discovered raw, or blanched, cold on salads with blue cheese...or blanched and stir fried with lemon and garlic butter, now I crave them and weirdly I feel like I'm cheating when I eat them...drool

I have loved green beans all my life. When I was little my parents used to find me sitting in the garden eating them off the plant

As an adult I don't eat them raw, but I do do that with asparagus.

Green beans seared in butter and olive oil, then steamed with some added chicken or vegetable stock and garlic. Let the liquid reduce to a nice sauce. So good.

I really want to try BPC and feel sad that where I live I can't get Kerrygold. Regular old butter in my country is always made from grass-fed, pasture cows, so wondering if that's good enough? The coffee here itself is also excellent.

I can't get kerrygold here either but it doesn't stop me! I think you have to not get bogged down by the 'ideal' but just do the best you can and in your case it sounds ideal!
