There used to be a very popular appetizer I remember my mother making for guests back when I was a kid and I'm not sure of the name but, it had a piece of liver, a slice of water chestnut, then wrapped in bacon. In those days we had no Chinese restaurants in this country yet. Polynesian food was just coming into vogue and I think that's where this came from. Does anybody know the name of this appetizer?

I've never heard of this sounds so different than anything I remember from my childhood.

When you feel annoyed that nobody is trying to make sour cream with more than 14% fat. Surely this could be even fattier and tastier and lower carb. Come on food maker people!

For decades 18% sour cream was the one highest in fat around here.

LCHF became popular here about a year ago and few months ago they introduced the 36% sour cream

When your nutrition tracker warns you that a food you just logged is high in saturated fat and you give yourself a high five.

I have literally 10 packs in the freezer now. Harris Teeter has Smithfield bacon on sale this week - buy 2 get 3 free!

Oh, and they also had 18 pk of eggs for 1.77 (limit of 2). My husband looked at me like I was insane when I brought them in over the weekend, but we've already killed almost one of the 18 packs. My carb-loving son is now obsessed with eating soft-boiled eggs with hot sauce and that makes me so happy!

Oh, taking a bag of pork rinds into a Mexican restaurant so you can partake in the delicious salsa. Always strange looks, and my non LC friends always eat more pork rinds than tortilla chips.

Haha. Yes! Also when your nutrition tracker says the carb "goal" for each meal should be 50 carbs for 150 a day, and your eyes bug out.

You're a vegetarian who dreams about ham/cream cheese/chive roll-ups. Or any other kind of meat. I keep moving toward the "dark side".

I did the same thing. Gack! Hate flaxseeds. I just bake them plain without breading.

If you have a bunch of flax seeds you don't want to eat, make hair gel or egg replacer. Even if you're not allergic to eggs, using egg replacer occasionally gets omega-3 into your diet.

Yes that's all I buy now when I do sour cream recipes. Great for cheesecakes so you aren't lowering the fat with the sour cream.

I love poppers! I make them by cutting the peppers in half, wear rubber gloves if you are doing more than just a few. Take out the seeds and membranes if you want to reduce the heat. I make a mixture of herb and garlic cream cheese, parmesan cheese, and shredded cheddar. I fill the pepper halves with the mixture, then wrap with bacon. Bake until the bacon is crispy. They are amazing!
