When you really don't care which kind of bread Subway uses, because you know that you are just going to eat the insides with a fork and knife anyways.

When you go to a pizza buffet and end up with a mountain of pizza crusts hidden under your napkin.

Hahaha.. I have that same paranoia (about wrong soda) .. I so thought about the sticks. But I'd feel odd carrying around sticks you are supposed to drop urine on (yea yea I know they don't have any but still ) - maybe some entrepreneur will get busy and see the light

When you have an old-fashioned "Grease Pot" on your counter top that you pour bacon and sausage fat into, and you use it for cooking.

my mom used to keep a jar of bacon grease out on the counter now they tell us to refrigerator (almost) everything. Can bacon grease still be left out and be ok? I'd like to be able to reuse mine. (and where did you get the cannister )

I keep mine in a mug in the fridge, only because I find it more convenient. I think it's fine to leave it out. My grandmother left hers in a coffee can on the stove for decades.

I think, if you're leaving it out, it's probably more important to strain it, so you don't have little bits in there. That's just my impression, though.

When the BF is the designated taster of that "dt. soda" or you're the designated drinker when you're at an eating establishment because you don't trust that they are really giving you non-carb food - so you either eat before you go or eat when you get home -- I'm a cheap date. (Yeah and I'm a little paranoid about eating/drinking out, can you tell??)

I have had mine on the counter for a couple of years now. Once in a while as it gets really low, I empty it out and clean it, but most of the time I just wipe the outside. It comes with a strainer piece inside, so the big pieces don't go into the grease.

And I got it at Wal-mart. Just perusing the kitchen stuff, and saw it there on the bottom shelf!
