Low Carb/High Fat and Cholesterol Levels
I just wanted to add a little post here for anyone not yet convinced that eating low carb/high fat is good for your health. I had a health screen today and am pretty amazed at the numbers.
Nine years ago when I was 40 pounds heavier than I am today and eating a SAD my numbers were: Total - 178 HDL - 57 LDL - 100 Triglyceride - 103.
Four years ago when I weighed about 20 pounds less than I do now (after losing weight on a lowish carb, low calorie diet) my numbers were: Total - 158 HDL - 60 LDL - 84 Triglyceride - 70.
Today, after being strictly low carb/high fat for only 2 1/2 months, my numbers are:
Total - 106 HDL - 41 LDL - 50 Triglyceride - 73 :jumpjoy:
And my glucose was 89 an hour after eating. The nurse asked if I had been fasting.
I wish I had numbers from right before I started, but am still pretty impressed with the change. Now to work on that 41.2% body fat number. Blah.
Good to see! I just started on the LC journey to reduce my numbers!
