Best fast food breakfasts?

I'll be traveling soon. Not the kind where I can stock a cooler or mini-fridge. An omelet is my first choice for breakfast, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money for a sit-down meal every day. What's the best cheap, fast choice?

In a pinch some packages of Ready Made bacon can help fill in non-restaurant mornings. Maybe with some prewrapped individual cheese...the cheese won't last forever but should be okay for awhile out of the fridge.

Krytals have a low carb scrambler. It consist of meat (bacon or sausage), eggs and cheese.McDonalds will fix bacon and eggs although you wont find it listed on the menu. The other day I ordered bacon, eggs and medium coffee. It only cost about $3.26 or so.

If I'm running through a fast food drive thru, I'll either ask for a couple of breakfast sandwiches without the bread (just tell them to put it in a bowl), or toss the bread myself. For example, at McDonald's I'll get two sausage mcmuffins with egg and throw away the bread.

Carl's Jr. (Hardee's in some regions) used to have a low carb breakfast bowl. I still miss those!

Hardee's where I am still makes the low carb bowl I get it all the time - it's delicious. Most any other place will make a side of egg(s) and sides of bacon/sausage. Make me laugh but I used to order sausage egg mcmuffin and invariably I'd hear "No muffin?!?" like it was inconceivable... but now it's pretty common as I get it much less often.

I've found that a lot of the convenience stores now will have hard boiled eggs and Cracker Barrel Cheese slices. I often grab those when I'm traveling and will eat them for breakfast.

Last week I went to McDs and ordered 2 sausage patties, 1 slice of cheese, and a round egg. They put it in a box and charged me less than $3.

I've ordered eggs and sausage from McDonalds too. They put it in a little box and gave me a fork. I don't remember what it cost, but it wasn't too much.

I usually skip breakfast while traveling though and go straight to lunch.

Hi cpr....

I used to, but found restaurants short sheeting me on 'content'...so now I order it and then pitch the bread.

You MUST try the Jack in the Box extreme sausage sandwich without the bun. It's 2 sausage patties, 2 slices of cheese, and 1 fried egg. Yummy and under $3 - and better quality food than the breakfast foods at McD's or Carls Jr.

Try Hardee's or Carl's Jr for the west coast folks....order the Low-Carb Breakfast Bowl. My local Hardee's charges about $3 for it. It's got sausage, eggs, bacon and cheese layered into a bowl. It's really the only option around here that doesn't require throwing away a lot of bread or potatoes.

Hardee's is one of the few places that readily offers low-carb. Look at their nutritional value chart, and you'll see they offer a burger, chicken sandwich (both lettuce wrapped) and even their hand breaded chicken tenders are semi-low-carb. I think the 3 piece has about 13 net carbs, 2 fiber.

The low-carb bow has 2 net carbs, 1 sugar, 1 fiber.
