Other than Swerve....

What brand erythritol do you use and where do you buy it?

Swerve is expensive and was out of stock last time I ordered from Netrition. I would love to just go pick something up at a nearby store. TIA

My local food coop carries erythritol in bulk. Do you have a coop or natural food store nearby?

I use xylitol. I really like it. Mine is made from hardwood trees. I usually use a combo of that and swerve. I get mine at Fred Meyer's or Smith's maybe. Do you have a Natural Grocers or anything near buy?

Just a word of caution: xylitol is toxic to dogs, so be cautious about using it if you have dogs

Thanks Dottie! Nope, no more dogs. But I did feed a bit of something made with it to my bird. Didn't kill him thank goodness. But I won't do that again!

Apparently the insulin response and liver issue is limited to canines (weird, huh?).

I'm able to find granulated Swerve at a local grocer. I purchase the powdered version online.

I also like Truvia and the brand of Erythritol that my health food store carries (can't remember the brand, but have never noticed much of a difference between brands).

I just googled and there are two, but not really close. I've never been to a food co op, what are they like? It might be worth the drive. Do I need to be a member?

Thanks. I've never seen Swerve in a store here. Truvia is a blend with Stevia, right? I have some liquid stevia/erythritol (Skinny Girl on sale) and I've only tried it in iced tea. Not sure about it in a dessert.
