30 pound club new member
This is the third time I've gone low carb in 20 years, each time I hit a wall at 20 lbs and this time was no exception.
The difference this time is my level of stubborn determination. I lost a quick 20 and over the next 5 months lost 5 more with daily exercise and staying under 20 carbs, thats not good enough.
I dusted off the old Atkins book for a reread and saw that he said diuretics prescribed for blood pressure are a no-no.....Holy Smokes, I've been taking Lisinopril/HCTZ for over 20 yrs.
My doctor said ubetcha to me stopping HCTZ and replacing with taurine and a week later the pounds started falling off with audible plops. BP stable and dropping slightly.
This is my personal experience and NOT advice to anyone.
This web site is full of friendly and helpful members and behind the scenes workers that have helped me persevere through that uphill portion of this sustainable WOE without surrender.
Thank you all,
