BP Coffee and HWC Question

I usually have my own concoction of bulletproof coffee. There is a small scoop of vanilla casein protein (Big Train Fit Frappe), cocoa powder, butter, coconut oil, and heavy whipping cream. While it carries me for awhile, I'm typically pretty snacky around 3 hours later. This morning, however, I left the heavy whipping cream out and didn't get nearly as snacky.

Has anybody else noticed anything like this? Could this merely be a coincidence?

Probably individual. For me, if I skimp on the CO, it doesn't hold me as well.

For me, I would welcome getting 'snacky' within three hours. If truly hungry and not just following a habit of snacking or being bored, being hungry would mean the metabolism was in gear... a good thing. Which is why I make sure I get those low carb/carb free fats (CO, HWC, etc.) in the morning.

The ideal regimen is to eat every two to three hours, up to six mini meals a day and you're at optimum weight loss potential if your metabolism kicks in between each meal. I'm not there yet, still three basic meals with my schedule but it is a goal. I hope your experience was true hunger, means you're doing it right.

Huh...I do 2 TBSP of coconut oil, 2 TBS of butter and 1 TBS of HWC...and I too find that it doesn't hold me as long as others claim...maybe I will try taking out the cream just to see. I usually have a little bite of something with it as well because I don't like the feeling of all that coffee with no solid food in there.

Too much fat in a meal makes me hungry for some unknown reason.

BPC (original recipe) all alone as a breakfast was a horrible failure when I tried it. My body was not at all happy & let me know. I was starving all the time! It was more like bullet holes in my diet. I no longer drink BPC at all.

Second day in a row without cream---less snacky. I'll cut HWC out for a week or two and see if it's consistent.

I use about a tablespoon each of CO and butter.

I love my BPC. I tried the HWC, but felt like it didn't add enough to warrant it's heavy amount of calories. Just made the drink more chalky to me. But I imagine it would be better if I put like 300 cals of HWC in it.

But just 50 or 75 cals? Not worth it. I still like mine with a raw egg blended in. Then I sprinkle granules of xylitol on top of the foam.

It's like you are having breakfast in your coffee. Too fun.

You might want to re-think this as a goal, since the notion that eating smaller meals throughout the day will keep your metabolism humming has been disproven multiple times. You DO hear that idea everywhere in the mainstream, but like much of the rest of it, it just isn't supported by the science.

Quite a few low-carbers (myself included) do much better with IFing (or intermittent fasting). Eating FEWER meals has been one of my major keys to staying on track. Do a search on here for lots of information about the benefits!
