NY Times article: Saturated fat not so bad

Interesting article in today's NY Times about a new study that found that saturated fat has little link with heart disease, but that people should avoid processed carbs and sugar (sound familiar?). For those like me who battle with their Dr., this might supply some more ammo.

That great! Maybe, just maybe we'll catch up,with Sweden. I like how the other Dr.'s opinion was relatively negated by the statement, they didn't take part in the study. And I am surprised, the Dr. came right out and said, it should be about limiting your carbs and sugary foods. Very nice!!

Unfortunately, the picture with the article was misleading. The burger was on a big white flour bun. Bummer - one of these days, maybe they'll show a hamburger without a bun.

That was the first thing I noticed. Get rid of the bun!

The problem is the burger was fried in an unhealthy oil, negating any benefits of the meat.

Because almost any restaurant/fast-food fries in soybean oil which is horrible for your health. Soybean oil kills good gut bacteria in addition to clogging arteries. The healthier approach is to either bake the burger or flame-broil it.

Wish they would have skipped the negative part.

I really wish people would go nuts on the steaks and butter. It has never been proven to be unhealthy despite the wrong guidance given in the past decades.
