Salt retention+weight training account for 2 lb gain??!
Has anyone experienced water retention on atkins despite the lack of carbs due to the high sodium intake? I've been eating bacon, some mustard, etc. and adding sea salt so I am consuming a bit of sodium and also weight training a little and doing cardio, some running but nothing crazy..I just feel better with some exercise. However, I am up from 114.8--->116.1 after not weighing myself for 2 days. Is this normal? I used to be able to eat 1800-2000 with higher carbs and lose, because I was running 4 miles a day, 6-7 days a week. now, I'm doing a lot more walking, elliptical, weights, barely running and eating 30ish carbs..am in ketosis and eating 1800ish as well. I see many of you eat around 1000-1300 a day and I don't know if I can maintain on that little food for the rest of my life..is that what it takes to lose though?

I've had larger swings than 2lbs just from exercising or sodium intake alone. It's nothing to fear. If it's from exercise, your body will soon adjust as your muscles become accustomed to a higher activity level. If your sodium level is too high you can always decrease your intake. I soak my bacon in water before cooking in order to reduce the nitrates, but this also reduces the sodium as well as both are water soluble.

Some people do need to reduce calories to a low level in order to lose. I am one of these people. Fortunately it's only for weight loss mode, and while I'm in ketosis I have no hunger.
