Why does the nutritional info say 1 carb, when no fibre or sugar?

Has anyone else noticed this? I have come across quite a few packaged foods that say they have 1 carb, yet have 0 fibre or sugar listed. Does anyone know why this is?

Calories.
If it's not a protein or fat, then it's a carb.
Do the math for the label:
1g protein = 4 calories
1g fat = 9 calories
Multiply the grams then add them up. If it's less than the calories on the label, then they call it a carb. (paraphrasing).
Also, sugar alcohols are a totally different animal on labels. If it has sugar alcohols, then they may include that.

So then when we are counting carbs, do we count that as one carb then?

I would say yes. Maybe they are being more honest than most. It may be under a carb but are rounding up. Almost all round down. I just looked at the nutritional info on the eggs I usually buy. They say 1 carb, but I know it more like .5 or .6. So they rounded up I like that. Less sneaky.

I don't think I've ever managed to get the same calorie number as the one in the nutrition info by calculating the micronutrients. It tends to be like 10% off on average.
