2 months, 10 pounds

It's been almost two months since I started low carbing again, and have lost 10 pounds. Not great, AFAIC, but I plan to keep at it, as long as I don't get discouraged. I did break it twice with a one meal, or half a day of going over the 20 carbs. Yesterday was one of them.
I think there's been an inch or two gone, but the scale hasn't moved down for several weeks, and I don't think more inches have left, either. Clothes fit better, and I generally feel better, but it does get discouraging.
Any thoughts would help...

2 months, 10 lbs???? Fabulous!!!!! Well done!!! That is a great amount, and you are 10 lbs less than you were 2 months ago!!!!!

I definitely would start measuring yourself and also try to stick to plan as much as you can. Give it time, you are not others on here, and your body will lose weight in the speed that it does.

I am a slow loser as well, but I'm sticking to my plan, if not for the weightloss then for the health aspects it brings.

That said, CONGRATULATIONS on your weightloss, keep it up!

xxx Chloe.

Ditto! I read somewhere on here someone said that they stalled themselves right out of 100 lbs... Just keep doing it, another thing I liked was someone who said "you're not in a race with anyone"...

sbarr 02-03-2014 07:51 AM

10# down, Your clothes fit better, you feel better - win win win. You've hit the triple crown.

If you're getting discouraged, perhaps you might consider if you're feeling deprived in some way. Maybe there is something you can do to change your meals so you can envision yourself enjoying this way of eating for the rest of your life.

That's something I had to do this time around. I had to find foods that I felt like I could eat for the rest of my life and feel satisfied.

mimivac 02-03-2014 08:20 AM

I think that's great, and I would not be discouraged by such a result. I'm pretty close to goal and keep going up and down. I would kill for 10 gone in two months.

ella5 02-03-2014 09:14 AM

Thank you all so very much. Your words are heartening. I will keep at it.

10 pounds in 2 months is awesome! Just KUTGW and that scale number will keep trending downward. :)

AsmallerME 02-03-2014 10:12 AM

How much do you need to lose?

We are all so different. 10 pounds is AWESOME no matter what your goal. But especially if you are facing other obstacles - like not as much to lose, not being able to exercise, menopause, etc.

KUTGW and before you know it, you'll be saying you're down 20!

snowangel9 02-03-2014 03:19 PM

Hi Ella! So, if I asked you, would you like to lose 60lbs this year? What would you say? Because you are on track to do just that! Keep up the good work! It'll add up!

NewestAtkinsFan 02-03-2014 03:31 PM

10lbs in 2 mknths is great! Most people can only dream of that kind of progress! Excellent job! Congratulations.

ella5 02-03-2014 04:37 PM

Thank you all. I guess that's pretty good progress after all.
You are greatly appreciated.

I am betting you did not gain overnight, so don't be hard on yourself for not losing it overnight. We seem to have this tendency to think that the weight should come off much faster than it went on....

10 lbs is great! You LOST 10, didn't gain, and you feel better...how awesome is that!? :congrats:

Today, 3 days later, still no more weight loss, but the body looks a bit different, some of the "curves" not so curvy, and the jeans, while still a bit snug at the waist are a bit looser from the waist down.
But today I don't feel good. Spaghetti squash for supper, then more resting and vitamin C. I hope I'm not getting that stuff that's been going around.

Great news - keep it up....soon those jeans will be falling off.

Hope you feel better

Here I am, into the 9th week of this, and still at the 10 pound loss mark. I feel stalled, so decided to be more careful and do a little record keeping, to see HOW I'm eating.
Maybe my numbers (c/p/f) are off, maybe I just need to keep on this for a bit.
Breakfast so far (lol) has been bpcocoa made by accident this AM, so 7C,1P,11F. Normally that would be only 2 carbs. And 1/4 c bacon bits, 0C, 15 protein, and 10 F. It's only 7AM, and I have no idea of the rest of the day yet.

Friday, Feb 14, 9 almost 2.5 months later, still the original 10 pounds, plus maybe another one. But besides seeing the love handles, I can now fold my arms UNDER my boobs, so that must mean something. Don't know what...
The last 3 days (T/W/TH) I suddenly changed the way I eat. It just happened on Tuesday: I quit the peanut butter/butter bombs and almost didn't eat on Tuesday. Wasn't hungry. Wed I packed a lunch for an all day outing: can of tunafish (2 oz) with mayo, and a quarter cup of bacon bits. At lunch ate about 1/2 the tuna, and later, a few bites of the bacon. Wasn't hungry. Same thing yesterday, not hungry.
Think I'll do 2 green smoothies today. I'm drinking one now, and will have another maybe afternoon.
I'd sure like to see the scale numbers move down.

I think its great!!!!!!!!

I only lost 2.5 lbs my first week...but upppped my water intake and use ONLY artificial sweetener in my hot/iced teas now and it made a huge difference.

Now a month later I am down 10 lbs total myself..so sometimes you just need to tweeek things a bit and find what works for you---DO YOUR PLAN FOR LIFE---not anyone elses :D

Congrats!

I was feeling bummed about 4 lbs in 4 weeks. But then I went and pulled out my 4 lb bar-bell as a comparison. I'm now thrilled to not be carrying around a 4 lb bar-bell anymore!!!

Changing the perspective sometimes is all that is needed. :D

ella5 02-24-2014 06:46 PM

Feb 24, 2014. I started this Dec 6, 2013.
I've been feeling down because the scale hasn't been moving, and I can't see any body changes either.
But, I settled into bed last night, laying on my right side and laid my left arm down my body, resting on hip, and pulled it up right away: something was wrong. What was that? I laid it down again, and that hard bump my arm hit is my HIP BONE!
it was startling! Changes are being made.
AND, this morning,
The scale finally moved down about a pound.

That is hilarious! You have a great attitude.

snowangel9 02-25-2014 10:29 AM

Oh Ella, :hugs: You're getting there!! And you found a hip bone! Woo hoo!!! :D It's not all about that nasty scale!!

Welcome to the 10#s Gone Forever Club

ella5 02-26-2014 07:05 PM

Thanks, everybody. Still no scale change today, but yes, in the 10# gone forever club for sure.

For most of us, weight loss isn't a steady thing. And I've found for myself that sometimes my body needs to settle in to a new weight before losing more. I'm not a fast loser, but I eventually lost the weight. Stick with it.

ella5 02-27-2014 08:11 PM

My body has been at this weight for over 8 weeks...Time for lower scale numbers.
I know what you are saying, and I agree. Nonetheless it's time for change.

Mimosa23 02-27-2014 11:46 PM

Ella, are you eating dairy products?

You may have posted this before, if so, sorry!

x

ella5 02-28-2014 04:41 PM

the only dairy is butter in tea, cocoa, peanut butter fat bombs. I did zap one slice of American cheese three times in the last week for "crackers".

BPcocoa (cocoa/butter/coconut oil, vanilla) this morning with less than 1/4 can of tuna mixed with a bit of olive oil.
an hour or so ago, a Church's fried chicken thigh.
Supper tonight will be shrimp in melted butter or sauce.

Sunday March 2 2014
Today I decided to try on the next smaller size jeans. One pair fit nicely and are wearable, and I may, later in the week. I tried on a different brand, all cotton, and they were smaller. To remind me of goal and facilitate positive thinking, that pair is now hanging on the refrigerator. And the scale has not moved...
Breakfast, green smoothie. I am about to make a cup of BPtea, and a bowl of nut butter bullet. Have a nice day, All.

chipmunkis 03-02-2014 03:03 PM

The scale may not have changed...but have your measurements? Sometimes the changes are occurring there but not showing on the scale yet...

ella5 03-02-2014 03:26 PM

Yes, chipmunkis! My measurements have changed! The size I tried on today is 2 sizes smaller than I started with on Dec 6, 2013. One of those tried on today fit nicely. The other will in a few days! Until then, I will use them on my refrigerator as incentive, reminder, moral support, and goal.
