Awesome weight loss!! and insomnia :(

So I lost 10 pounds in almost a week and a half I am extremely happy with it....but the last three days I have had such bad luck when trying to sleep. I sleep four hours tops and usually wake up every hour or so. My body is so tired through out the day and my thoughts are cloudy from being tired but I still have energy to exercise and stuff....its so weird. I thought I read somewhere on this forum that its possible for it to happen because of ketosis. Anyone else? I was starting to worry something was wrong with me lol. I ate a sandwich with a reduced carb bread in hopes it would help me sleep but no luck. Any others experiencing this? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post...I am a newbie poster but long time lurker. Thanks in advance

It definitely happens.... I think it's 2 reasons, 1 your body is in ketosis, and 2... you don't have carbs weighing you down

Some people take melatonin before bed and some people take magnesium.

I just use it as an opportunity to get stuff done because it'll go away eventually lol

I agree with the melatonin and magnesium. The magnesium alone makes me a little sleepy. Your body will eventually adjust. Hang in there!

I found that when I was in deep ketosis, I suffered from serious insomnia. Now, despite eating less than 25gm of carbs per day (usually under 10), my insomnia is gone. Now, I know that being zero carb doesn't even guarantee ketosis, but I also limit my protein so am guessing that my body has adapted. So, give it time.

Thank you guys!!! It's such a relief to know I'm not going crazy or something lol.
I finally got to nap today!! It was awesome, haha! Only a few hours but I don't really feel the need to sleep, I am loving the energy and motivation. I will be picking up the melatonin and magnesium this weekend though just cause I a full nights sleep is always good I appreciate the responses!

I'm getting the insomnia, too! It is so weird to me - I don't remember this happening before. But I'm not stressed out or anything, and everything else is fine, health-wise.

I'm just waking up 1 or 2 hours earlier than I should or want to

I hope I adapt soon!

I drink low carb milk before bed recipe posted on this site heat it up and add a little bit of hersey coco powder. I also take magnesium and think it has helped sometimes.
