Hi All!! Found this thread tonight and think it is amazing!!! I have so many NSV's and would like to share a few.
1. Fit into a size 12.....have never been smaller then a 14!!
2. Have less back pain.....had to sleep on my couch for years because the bed killed my back...am now happily back in my bed!
3. Have a ton of energy now!!
4. Can now wear a size L shirt....which is amazing to me since I am/was a size F in the chest area.
5. Think my boobs have shrunk!!!! Woohoo, my bra's are all huge on me now!!
6. Only crave chocolate when it is my TOM, but have learned to make a low carb chocolate cake, so all is good!
7. Am not hungry all day long and when I am, I eat healthy!!
8. Accidently bought a pair of 14 juniors, and I actually fit into them!! They have been in my closet for 2 months and I used to not even be able to get the button and the hole close enough to even attempt to button them!!
9. I am in general, a happier person!!!
10. My favorite NSV- I am smaller then all my sisters now!!

High heels, splunking, no huffing and puffing, ketosis, smaller sizes, etc. How cool is that.

Yesterday, I took off for a walk and noticed that I was walking faster than I used to. When I started back on this journey the end of May, I was lucky to walk at around 2.25-2.5 mph. Now, I am between 3.0-3.25! Yahoo

Went shopping today and realized I was trying on clothes that are 8-9 sizes smaller than a year ago. I've lost over 10 inches in circumference around my chest.

Tonight I got carded when I ordered wine with dinner and got called "miss" instead of "ma'am." I know I look younger than 150 pounds ago, but I didn't think it was THAT much! I'll take it though!!

Pants are falling off and waitress at restaurant said "You're losing weight". No one outside of family has noticed up to this point even though I've lost close to 40lbs.

The skin above my ankles is now normal color. For years it was blotchy and dark. I just noticed it tonight. What does that mean?

It has been 50 days since I changed my woe. I went lower portion. Gave up diet soda. Slashed carbs. And I am going lower carb as I go on.

I bet they've noticed, but just haven't said anything. I had a couple of friends come up to me and say after a group outing - "I noticed you're losing weight, but didn't want to say anything in front of others in case you'd be embarrassed."

Maybe there are some people out there who would not be happy to have people remark on weight loss, but I say, sing it to the rafters!

My newest one is some guys on a football message board are regularly asking me for new recipes/tips and tricks as they ... and their wives ... venture into low carb. It is really helping this WOE to feel even more ingrained and habitual in myself and more comfortable that I won't ever go back to the "dark side". I sort of feel, I guess, that I have to keep walking the walk since I've talked the talk so much. And so far, so good. "Mindless" no longer means to me eating cookies or crackers with abandon. Mindless means I make the proper low carb choice because it never occurs to me to do anything else.

Skin darkening is a sign of insulin resistance. Usually it's near neck and arm pits if I remember right, but my understanding is it can occur anywhere on the skin

If that's what it was, and its gone, that is glorious news!!!

I no longer feel anxious going to a new restaurant or getting in someone car, or a myriad of other situations because I might be too bit for the booth, seatbelt, etc. This is huge for me!

My highest weight was over 350, so I can totally relate. Isn't it freeing?? Also, sitting in folding chairs or plastic molded chairs, many of which are designed to support up to about 250-300lb

So freeing! The fear that a cheap chair or deck chair would break....not fun!

Stopped by the Columbia store at the outlets today, and picked up two new shirts. Both size "Large".

I don't remember the last time I wore a "Large". I've been a 2X for most of my adult life. Now, these may just run large, I've bought a handful of XL shirts recently. But the XL in these were way too big. I tried on a size large in a different store over a month ago an it was too small, both around the shoulders and lengthwise. I'm 6-3" 233 give or take a couple of pounds. Still want to lose at least 15 pounds. But the weight is coming off very slowly, if at all recently.

OMGosh, yes! And looking around for the sturdiest chair when visiting people, too...

It is nice to realize those things are no longer problems. I don't ever want to forget those things though...

This happened probably a couple months ago but it keeps popping up in my mind...

I had my annual mammogram & the gal doing it made some comment about the robe I had put on. I said something about really liking it because it was so roomy on me this year and yet I used to need two to cover all of me!

She asked how much I'd lost & when I told her she got this incredulous look on her face. She said she could not imagine me ever being that large.

I think it keeps coming to mind because if she can't imagine it I must not look huge to other people anymore. When strangers see me they don't know about the very large lady I used to be. They may notice other things about me but my large size is not going to be the first thing people notice anymore... What a wonderful thing!

Thought of another one which I haven't appreciated in a long time.... when I was at my heaviest, I really could not take a bath in a regular bathtub, or honestly even one of those oval shaped ones. Now I take a soak in the tub a few times a week with plenty of room!!

Michelle, I have weighed daily, weekly etc. I find that once a month will be ok. Although, during July, I weighed before and after vacation and today.

This is amazing. I am still quite heavy but nothing compared to 7 months ago...I am now at least in a normal range of overweight...and it is funny how much better that makes me feel in new social situations. It probably shouldn't but it does...I just have more confidence and less anxiety.

Another one for me is that I realized I have stopped caring what people who knew me at the higher weight are thinking now. I used to think, Oh, no matter what, they'll always think of me as fat. But you know what? I now realize that people probably didn't think about it at all. I honestly don't feel that people are treating me any differently. Now, I could choose to think, Oh, it's because they still "see" the fat me; or I could choose to think, Oh, it's because they never defined me by my weight in the first place. IOW, I guess I'm saying feel a victory in no longer feeling trapped by a negative self image.

Marsha, it is great when our psyche is affected by weight loss.

<<<<< feeling more comfortable: I am hooking my bras at the second or third set of hooks

I also dug into my box of size smaller clothes and can wear a XL shirt instead of the XXL shirts that are now hanging on me. My 2X or 22W pants are looking like clown pants too.

One that I take for granted now but is still very important... My entire adult life had been plagued with long term clinical depression. It has been 100% absent since restarting my ketogenic woe in the fall of 2009. Talk about mood stabilizing!!!
