A question, just got over some sort of flu

Sunday I got hit with some sort of flu. Didn't eat anything besides my coffee with heavy cream and couldn't even finish that. Drank a lot of water Sunday and Monday. Monday I managed to get two cans of chicken broth and a few bites of food in. This morning I went to go make bacon ( I was starving) and it was HARD for me to get that in. I've had some coffee with cream and a bit of turkey with butter, but can't seem to handle much food at all.

I'm wondering if it's just me being in ketosis or my body trying to come back from being sick? I haven't had much food or fat the past three days and i'm worried it will slow me down on my weight loss.

Sorry you have been ill. Don't worry about eating (or not eating) in terms of weight loss or potential weight loss. Just eat when you are feeling like it and continue to keep yourself hydrated.

Everyone I know, and my entire family, has had this "bug." I think it's important to listen to our bodies always, and certainly when we're sick. Important to remember that digestion takes body energy, which is why our bodies often reject food when we're ill.

For garden variety winter bugs pretty much the same old thing goes---plenty of water, a hot bath or two to sweat it out, and chicken broth is still the best thing going, as it has been since I was a child.

And no, I don't think this is because you're in ketosis. The "flu ketosis" thing is quite different than a winter flu bug, which may leave you feeling tired at first, as well as a few other symptoms, but not unable to eat.

I had a weird bug (hot head, no hunger at all, achy joints, cold all over, slight nausea and stomach pains, dizzyness and headache, definitely not LC flu, as I'm in ketosis and have been for a while now) over the weekend until yesterday. I just drank plenty of water, and had homemade bone broth with celtic sea salt and waited until I was hungry again. Then I ate plenty, LOL! Seems to have done the trick, am better today.
According to my Dr, there is a weird kind of virus going around here with these symptoms.

there isn't much you can do when you are sick. Broth is a great idea, and easy to make and freeze for whenever you need it. I remember eating scrambled eggs when I was sick and lowcarbing, they were easy and bland. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. I went home from work today I was standing there getting cold sweats and I looked pale. Got more more broth and SF Jell-O.

I have been sick with some kind of cold since the weekend that I can't seem to shake. I have made a roasted garlic chicken soup and broccoli cheese soup with homemade bone broth. I also drink extra bone broth. If I can't eat anything else at least the soup is nutritious.

I struggle Low Carbing when I am sick. It is really the only time I struggle. When I am sick, I just worry about getting better. Mind you I don't go crazy, but if I need a banana, a piece of bread, or some crackers because that is all I can get down, then that is what I am having. I have been sick three time in the last year since being on Atkins. I have come out of the illness lighter than when it started.

I had the flu on new years and I still have the cough going.

Try some lymphatic drainage massage on your face, neck, and chest.

I had a stomach flu this weekend. One day all I could do is drink diet ginger ale. I normally never drink soda. I don't worry too much about how much I eat or don't eat when sick. I just do my best.
