Any ideas why this happens when i start low carbing?
 
I just started back to low carbing Saturday, after being off since November. I got extremely busy at work and started going in at 4:00 am most days and just picked up fast food. This time I am sticking to it because I feel so much better eating low carb. I have done low carb twice before and experienced the same phenomenon. I gain weight my first 3 days before I start losing. Is this common and does anyone have an explanation? It is not upsetting to me because after that I lose quite well, I am just curious!

My menus for the last few days have included meat, eggs, broccoli, lettuce salad with Italian dressing, and a few strawberries. For meat I have been doing bacon, turkey fillets, pork roast, ham slices, hamburger, and chicken. Ideas anyone?

You are almost certainly retaining fluid while your body the adjustments and I would wonder if you are not also retaining other waste?

didn't happen when I started lc, but the times I had to restart, sure it was fluid.
You hold the course and like ya say, it works for ya after.
