Start LC just to fall off and stay off till after Christmas .smh , well last time I was doing good thenI got kidney stones and went to er to have them put me in the hospital and took my appendicitis out and almost died after the surgery. After i got out i did not go back on LC . My husband thinks it was LC that did that to me i am not sure. but I know i need to get this weight off!! So I am going back on LC.

Welcome back. Unless you have some kind of underlying kidney condition, I doubt very seriously that a LC diet did that to you. People have been eating mainly fats and protein in various places for thousands of years. Nobody "needs" processed foods and crappy carbs.

Back! What a scare. In the new Atkins books, they debunk that thought, about it hurting your kidneys. Unless you have kidney disease. So, I too second the thought, it wasn't low carb that did anything. Being and getting healthy have nothing to do (IMHO) with the Standard American Diet. I think SAD is very appropriate. Good luck on your journey to a healthier you!

Welcome back - hope you get back on track. I'd agree with snowangel about the kidneys. Read up on it for your comfort and awareness and so you can be informed when talking about this way of eating to your husband.
