Back, embarassed and here for motivation

Well about 7 years ago I foudn this site and low carb and it changed my life. I lost 65 pounds and felt great. Over the years it started to come back and I got lazy (first step is to admit it) and ate whatever I wanted. I am now embarrased of myself and I have finally come back to take care of myself. I am close to 40 now and so I know this is going to be a much slower process. For exercise I have started weight loss yoga and will add weights after week 2. I am not yet convinced that yoga will work, but it makes me feel good and is calming for me.

So here I am at the site that helped me before looking for all the great tips and motivation I need

Ya, I'm back too after having success in the past and gaining it all back. This time around I realize that losing isn't the hardest part--it's maintaining! I'm going to be really focusing on making changes that I can implement permanently even after I've lost the weight.

So easy to gain back lost weight. I lost 70 lbs on low fat/low carb. Didn't take long to get 'lazy and comfortable' and gain back 50 lbs. The 50 I am here to lose now

tons of great info on this board. You know, ya just gotta change your thinking about food in general and what foods the body find healthy and satisfying and stick with it.

Welcome back everyone - I'm just re-starting (and embarrassed too!) Started 1/1, have just so far to go, can't even think about it. One day at a time... We can do it!

Welcome back to everyone! We can do this and for me it is about changing the way I think about myself as well. I know where the end of this road leads and I just need to be patient and not stop because I see a 1 pound fluctuation. So here's to us

Welcome back. Please include me in the weight lost/ most gained back category. We all need to support each other - I know I want to do more supporting and less complaining.

Dont be embarrased, many of us are all in the same boat. I had gotten down to 150 and did the same thing and now i am at my heaviest ever and dealing with the grief of losing my brother to cancer recently. I have not been doing anything but eating to ease the pain and now i am finally realizing i have to stop ...
I have started back on track and would like to hope I can do this again for myself. My brother was a very healthy eater and he would not want me to keep doing this to myself.
Here's to a better year for all of us.

I am right there with you. I am now exactly where I was when I started losing weight originally (including having horrible upper back pain due to excess weight). I know I have to get this under control now. Started over on 1/2 for the umpteenth time. I know this will work it is really just a matter of getting my head in the right place.

WOE: Lean for Life/Lindora/Low Carb
Start Date: Everyday. It's my way of life.
I have "restarted" too many times. We can only take each day one day at a time and do our best. In January 2013, I signed up at Lindora - a weight loss clinic here in Southern California. Since January, I have lost 100 pounds and I still have more weight to go. Of that 100 pounds, I have probably gained and lost that much over the years. Do not look in the past, keep your head up and look towards the future. Everyday make sure you start the day clear and fresh. You write the page for the day. The page yesterday is already written and in the history books. I have to keep my mentality like this. I have the worse fear of gaining the weight again and I still have more to lose. The greatest gift of life is life itself. I am trying my best everday to treasure the gift of a healthy life.

Alysmom, we are in the same boat! I lost 50 pounds between 2006 and 2008 (many slipups, but an overall downward trend) and maintained it til 2012 when my marriage fell apart and I promptly gained 30 pounds back! So I'm back too -- don't be embarrassed! At least we are trying again! You can either get knocked down and stay down, or get knocked down and get back up! We're getting back up!
