Venison meat sticks....
 
My Dad made me venison meat sticks and I feel like they are pretty carb safe but I wanted to check here. He kills the deer himself, grinds the meat and organs and adds pepper flakes and spices, no sugar. They are then packed in collagen casings.

They are....amazing......

Do you guys think I'm okay? I estimated them to be less than 1 carb per stick.

Sounds great. Good to hear there is no added sugar. That's my pet peeve.

very good. hubby deer hunts also. we eat alot of venison. you can not go wrong with 'real food' :) it is the processed junk from companies that kill ya long term. Your Dad made GREAT sticks. So enjoy them :)

Thanks Ladies, and yes Trigger you are so right. I love that I know exactly whats in most of my food I'm eating now, no nitrates or crazy chemicals. I eat mostly whole foods :)

also what your Dad makes is 'almost a lost art'. How to process a hunt into good satisfying foods is a great skill to have! :) Your Dad rocks! I love hearing about others that hunt and use the meat to the best advantages they can. GOOD food!!

If the sticks are smoked they will usually have a cure in them for safety, hence nitrates, and usually a binder so they dont crumble, usually soy protein concentrate.
Collagen is made from animal protein.
I don't think they are much of a carb problem.
