You can still have yummy dessers for Thanksgiving!

I just took a basic apple crisp recipe and made it low carb. Instead of flour and sugar and oatmeal, and of course butter. I subbed carbquik, almond flour, chopped walnuts, and splenda, and butter. I used less apples than the regular recipe, since apples are a bit higher in carbs. (you can use berries too). I just tried a bit and OMG I think it's better than the regular recipe! And while everyone is having ice cream with theirs I will use fresh whipped cream. Can't wait until tomorrow!!

You don't have to deprive yourself on Holiday's. Just be a bit creative.

The best low-carb desserts I have ever had are Jody's Pumpkin bake and LC Cranberry Bliss Bars (just do a search on this site and you will find the bliss recipe.) OMG soooo good. This year I am just going to make the pumpkin bake for myself. Has anybody ever tried freezing it after it's cooked? Ordinary pumpkin pie freezes up just fine. Wonder how the LC pumpkin bake would bear up after freezing.

I made Linda Sue's Bavarian apple cheesecake. But I subtituted pears from our backyard tree for the apples. It's the only thing my non-LC family ever requests and they get pretty cranky if I don't make it.

I made my old recipe for cheese pie. The only subs were a walnut crust and 14 drops of EZ Sweet instead of sugar.
