Navigating healthy choices in a confusing world

A confusing world of so called studies and experts that is. Love the clip on youtube by Tom Naughton called 'Science for smart people'. I highly recommend it for navigating in a world that is constantly telling you that your woe is 'bad'.

Interesting video. It's unbelievable sometimes how things start out as small, sort of facts and then get blown way out of proportion to the point of where intelligent people (such as doctors) believe them to be true. One of the biggest mistakes I ever did was tell people I was on a low carb diet. Now everything bad that happens to me, is because I am on a low carb diet. The truth is that I just don't eat wheat products, processed foods, potatoes, starchy veggies and beans. I basically only eat veggies, meat, high fat dairy, some fruit and nuts/seeds. And I sometimes used oil for cooking. How is that a bad diet?! I basically have had to tell people that I am no longer on a LC diet, but am still gluten free. Gluten free seems to be more acceptable than LC for some weird reason.

Thanks. I enjoyed the video a lot. He is a good & entertaining speaker.

I learned to describe how I eat rather than label it. No one can argue with eating unprocessed foods & lots of vegetables.

I think it is a well done talk and he makes it fun.

Observational studies are such a scam. I really think that they should not be allowed to be called studies at all. They are only the beginnings of a hypothesis. This one fact has allowed me to see through to the truth of of so called studies. Really important!
