is it possible.....

... to be so "carbed up" that it takes you two weeks on induction before you get Atkins flu? I've been on induction 15 days now.. with NO sign of atkins flu.. (I was eating HORRIBLY before) But, today, I started getting the chills, fever, migraine.. etc... typcial atkins flu for me... think it's possible?

Atkins flu comes from the dehydration you get when you lose a lot of water weight quickly. It is unlikely that you are still dropping weight that fast after 15 days. Sorry, you might just be getting sick. Hope not!

in any case, you could up your sodium intake some just to be sure, unless you have high blood pressure and shouldn't do that.

It's only possible if you went through induction, had a few cheat days with enough carbs in them to throw you out of ketosis and then resumed eating low carb again, then I guess you could experience it again. It really depends how many carbs you are consuming. But you could just be sick because its that time of the year.

You only need appx. 3 days of net carbs under 20 grams, plus protein, plus some fats to throw your body into ketosis. By the end of week 1 your kidneys will have started eliminating their extra water (you will be peeing a lot and the fluid will be very light colored when this is happening), and induc

Well.. see.. I have only lost a few pounds.. (I'm challenged by medications I'm on.. ) I've been meticulously tracking, and I've been under 20 grams everyday.. I'm doing great on the diet... I just haven't lost...

It seems unlikely but everyone is different. One thing that could contribute to a slow onslaught of ketosis is excessive protein - particularly in someone who has done a ketogenic woe before.

I wondered this as well. Today marks 2 weeks and yesterday I got sick. It's been a rough two days to say the least. I've lost 17 pounds, without any cheating. I was wondering if it could be an induction flu or perhaps the real thing! Maybe I've just caught a bug, regardless I feel bad :(

Homemade chicken soup can't hurt. And hopefully make you feel better, in any case. If you haven't tried the miracle noodles yet, they are good in the soup...
