Milk and cream problems

Over the course of my low carb journey, I have discovered that calories count for me-- a great deal. SO do carbs. Ugh. Right now, I am trying to keep calories as low as possible, while still keeping carbs reasonably low. Low-ish. Anyway, a major source of unnecessary calories, I have discovered, is milk and/or cream, specifically when I drink coffee.

I've not been a fan of soy, almond or rice milks. Coconut milk doesn't work too well in coffee. Does anyone have any suggestions of brands of faux milks, or ideas to help my situation? Anything? Bonus points if it's portable, but it's not a deal breaker. My work has me all over the darn place without refrigeration and I love coffee for keeping me going until I can locate appropriate food.

What about milk powder?

A major online retailer carries "Peak Dry Whole Milk Powder." It apparently has 8g of carbs per 3 tablespoons. I see a lot of people use it in their coffee. Seems like you could even get away with, maybe...a teaspoon? ~.88 carbs per tsp that way!

What about an unsweetened almond coconut milk? It's pretty tasty and works well in coffee.

When traveling and on vacation I use individual serving containers of half & half. They don't need refrigerated and each container is a 1tbl. serving. I don't have any to look at but I think they were about 10 calories each and 1 carb. The brand I use is moo-moo, but there are probably others as well.

I drink hot coffee black, but I like cream in iced coffee. I've discovered Mimiccream, which I order from Netrition. It's about 10 cal a T and low carb.

Maybe try sweetening your black coffee with french vanilla or bailey's davinci's and skip the cream all together?
