MORNING! I've been lying in bed for like, an hour-and-a-half. I'm trying to gather the willpower to pull myself out of it. :laugh: I PROMISE TO AFTER THIS POST!
I'm eating the exact same thing I did yesterday, which is a giant plate of pulled pork, smoked for 11 loving hours.
I wish I could be more exciting, but...pork shoulder.
Oh, and I guess I'll make a pot of coffee to try and tempt my husband out of bed in an hour or so. ;)
Now I'm off to be productive! ...maybe!
B: coffee with sweet n low and 2 tbls CO, increasing my co this week to see if it helps or I tolerate it better.
L: packing chicken salad and lettuce wraps for lunch at work today
D: pork butt smoked yday and roasted today, gonna be Delish!
Lots of water
Maybe 1 vodka/soda tonight
B: coffee with splenda, half & half
L: skip it because we eat in early dinner while watching NFL football
D: low carb chicken fajitas with homemade guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo, sparkling water, glass of wine

Has anyone made the truffles while on the induction? The Atkins cookbook says they are ok for phase 1.

Last night I cheated, actually to put it more accurately I carb-binged. So reporting for last night:
8pm- (horrible cravings decided it was safe to have one since I have been doing so well lately) 1 regular size snickers bar 31 carbs
9pm- (because I already cheated so I said oh well might as well) 1 hard boiled egg
11pm- (because I thought I needed more fiber and had already cheated) 1 persimmon 8.8 carbs
11pm- (because I wanted something chewy and had already cheated) 2 marshmallow rice krispies squares 17 carb each
11pm- (because I thought I might as well have some chocolate because I had already cheated) 4 chocolate covered macadamia nut candies 24 total carb
It scares me how easily I can get derailed, and how carbs control me so much. I was not even physically hungry that evening, just possessed by the carb demon :( didn't lose or gain a single ounce morning after :stars:
b - half of a chicken burger on half a sandwich round
l - nada
d - sam's club rotisserie chicken and some salt, cracked pepper and garlic roasted snowpeas.
dessert: Loooooooooooooooooooooooong hot bath with a bathbomb and a big scoop of coconut oil.
This evening, I'm making some pumpkin creamcheese muffins for the week.
Hit Sam's up and got some good stuffs to be prepared for the week.
Kind of a weird topsy turvy day for me:
B: coffee with splenda and HWC, no time to eat before church
L: Had a meeting right after church through lunchtime -ate a hard boiled egg and a string chese during the meeting.
L #2: Still hungry when I got home from the meeting - had a leftover smothered porkchop
D: Planning some baked hotwings and salad (mac and cheese for the hubby)
At an all day class:
B: hot tea 2 oz swiss cheese
Sn: Quest bar
L; 1/2 roast beef wrap lots of veggies
Sn: 1 oz mixed nuts
D: pot roast, au jus...mixed veggies
B: 3 eggs & cheese & 3 slices bacon
D: Gyro meat w/ tomatoes, red onion & Tzatziki sauce
S: Chocolate PB Fat Bomb
You are correct that snickers bar was definitely a physiological problem I was battling it all afternoon and finally gave in in the evening. However, my main problem seems to be that I satisfied my craving completely halfway through the snickers, paused, thought about leaving the rest but then said "I might as well " finish it. All the other cheats after the snickers resulted because of my "I might as well since I've already failed" attitude. Like Artic_mama says, if you get a flat does not mean you should slash the other 3 tires. The good news is I did well both yesterday and today and I seem to be back on track.
I add small amounts of fruit to my diet because I am on protein power, we count net carbs and fruits are considered okay and we are encouraged to get lots of fiber into our diets. I took your advice and just had eggs today. Thank you for taking the time to help a newbie out :hugs:
